Well, it's been a few days since I posted an update, had a lot of mowing to do over the past several days. Anyway, got the valve spring compressor in last Friday. Pulled the valves out Saturday morning. Found some carbon spots on the intake valve, probably what caused the leak around that valve. The exhaust valve was the worst one, but it wasn't leaking past when I did the liquid test. So, using my Dremel and a soft wire brush I cleaned up around the valve seats, cleaned up the carbon from the exhaust valve and lapped them both into the seats. They lapped in real nice with very little effort. I tried to take some before and after pictures but they came out kinda blurry.
Put the head back on using the old gasket and torqued down. Now just waiting on the leak down tester, should be here today.
I'll post the outcome of that test probably tomorrow morning.
