Yes, the website is still up, but the business is no longer in operation. I inquired about running boards for the 550, via email and phone, never got an email response and i get nothing when calling the phone number, finally i ran across someone on a hunting forum from Dallas who knew the owner, and said he had passed and the business is no longer operating. I can understand his frustration, given the situation he was in. The UTV broke down an hour after he purchased it, the retailer refused to help, as did the factory. If I were in that same situation, I no doubt would be fired up, too.
In my nearly 500 posts, have any of you ever seen me post false or misinformation as he has? Those you who know me know I DO have IT ON TAPE from the phone call with the rep.. As I have stated many many times as far back as the time I joined the forum. Its on PISSED OFF CONSUMER .com too And if I was pushing for a brand, wouldnt I be schilling every day for it as he OBVIOUSLY IS DOING FOR MASSIMO ? hmmmmmm now whos working for a company?
I see your point and agree with much of what you are saying, minus this:
"Itβs not the Chinese but the US company that set standard of what they want to sell and at what price point."
The quality and quality control process of the engine production is NOT the responsibility or result of Tractor Supply. Quality belongs with the manufacturer and the factory producing the unit. Logistics and pricing pattern has nothing to do with that. Hisun owns this eff up. Not Tractor Supply. Where TS effed up was not backing a product that they endorsed. At the very minimum, my expectation of TS was a replacement, store credit or money back. My expectation of Coleman / Hisun was a warranty worth more than a pile of bovine excrement.

Absolutely true and you make my point, which is, all of these companies are pretty much the same and you will find good and bad service at different independent business that service any of these machines. I don't like blanket statements that one or the other is all bad or all good. That simply isn't true. Yes, Honda and Polaris, etc. have been around and gotten through most of their growing pains so they have a lead in some areas, but most parts are made in China for every brand and these machines are not indestructible and many of the established brands have priced themselves out of the market. Everyone will have differing experiences and results. Massimo is clearly making efforts to improve their customer care and I applaud that. Competition is good for the market place. Having viable competitors will force established brands to price more competitively. As we used to say, place a cast iron anvil on the demo floor and someone will make something nice with it and someone else will break it.
It took many calls and unanswered messages before someone actually answered their Tech line. Guy was a jerk , refused to help in any way .. He even told me their HISUN engines were complete junk and they had switched to LINHAI engines , a Chinese Co. cloning Yamaha engines but with cheap parts. . So they dont warranty HISUN . Someone said Linhai is owned by YAMAHA... not true.. Its a Chinese owned co.
At least you were able to actually talk with a Rep.
I will never understand why a company would go thru all the pains of startup and manufacture of a product and then standby and let the company go to hell by not supporting their product. Ever customer complaint, ever parts failure, ever maintenance failure or adjustment should be fed back to engineering dept and incorporated into the product to make it even better instead of just cranking out the same old thing. I don't think there is much if any difference between my 2014 and the 2022 models.
I really like the cabs that are made by Essex manufacturing. They're not pretty, but it's all modular steel panels, and real glass, for the windows. Essex makes good quality, heavy duty stuff, mostly for the military.
Gosh. Sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better, I took a bath on it. lol. Paid $8500. 2 years later, I got $3000. π
In case you're interested, here is the oil report.
Joe also seems to make a lot of statements that are questionable (given nearly 500 post, mostly negative ). Such as an actual employ of an actual company making a statement that would put himself and his employer in legal jeopardy for liable and class action lawsuits. Joe should have gotten that on tape. I know a group of excellent attorneys.
