Ok thanx for input maybe I'll get lucky and the bolts will fit ya right!!! I was gonna take the balls to a machine shop see what they think I wasnt gonna drill them on my own! Welding I though about that but I don't wanna spend. A lot of money in welding I only have use of a kinda shitty welder don't trust it for that! I'll keep u posted thanx

Hey guys looking for some input on this. Hopefully getting new shocks tommorow bolt size is 1/2" on the t2 I know the bolt is close to 5/8" or almost 16mm so what I was thinking is at the end of my new shocks taking the ball out that the bolt pass's threw and drilling it to the size of the t2 bolt so when all assembled there will be little to no play. Whats your opinions
-
wow that sux how did that happen
-
I will keep everyone up to date on how it goes as far as install and ride!! Lenny can't wait to get the t2 back together wiked excited about the new wheel travel!!!! I forgot to mention I got offroad warehouse to extend my testing time from 30-60 days for the first revalve told them I was rebuilding doffs and it would be a bit before it was on the trails again they said no problem! The 8.5 are fox-980-02-017 those are the rears fronts are fox-980-02-015. I forgot to mention I also talked to fox and they told me these shocks with this set up will take 2000lbs of unsprung weight meaning not including wheels tires axles trailing arms a- arms that is how they explained it to me and I guess in California lots of guys are switching to the air shocks in there utv and side by sides! I was also warned that repeated long periods of high speeds over time could over heat the shock but as I said earlier lots of my riding is 20mph and under due to trail size and the people I ride with. Hope this helps

Hey joyner people!!! Been doing some wrk on the t2 rear diff front diff and I have ordered fox air shocks I know some of you may think dumb move but I'm not out in the open and in the desert like you guys are so that means more slower speeds for me I ordered the from offroad warehouse 2.0 8.5" travel in rear full extension little over 24" limit strap 22.5 cause it's gonna stretch fronts went with 2.0 5.5" travel extension is 18.53 limit strap 18" had all shocks set at 300 nitro charge to start. First revalve is free shipping free should see them in a week or so I did get the tool from fox to set pressures properly very accurate!!! I will post more info once I have them installed and tried them!!!!!!

charlie replied to nocturnalsixer's topic in Joyner UTV SxS Forum
I'd say with just the rear diff locked ur Allset I wouldn't drive 40 all locked up to much strain in my opinion I almost always have the rear locked -

Hey n race dezert . Come there was a used set of fox and kings I wanna say 10"travel I believe in the 1200 range if that helps! Lot oh guys like the coil overs lots of choices out the off road warehouse seems to know there stuff
-
Good luck and thanx I as well will share any info I get from offroad warehouse
-
Rocmoc Yes I know its fairly new tech and I have been speeking with off road warehouse too lol A few times I havnt decided on it yet just researching on it and my options for suspension. I gotta get the rear diff fixed first lol. The reason I am looking at them is wear I work I have a friend whos brother was in King of the hammers and he used the fox air shocks for 2 yrs no real issues so thats what got the wheels turning, at this point just shopping around but thanx for the advice How is the jeep any mods or new pics yet??? have a good 4th rocmoc
-
Hey 2scoops thanx for the reply what size do you think I should get for the front earthier air shock or coil shock I was thinking of a 5.5 travel for front I know all you guys modify your shock mounts but that's not what I wanna do I'd have to pay for the welding and fab work and I just don't want to do that. I also found a set of fox coil overs in my state that were set up for a jeep 10" travel and 8.5 travel what do you think of that???? Been so discouraged with pulling about the rear end that I have been thinking suspension to up lift my mood lol! I got on axle off today but the passenger side no way then I took my son to the beach any thanx for the input let me know what u think of this
-
Well update one side is off used my truck my wife's jeep cumalong and a sledge hammer with wood and it's off other side not so much thanx everyone sorry if I'm a pain

Hey guys I know there is tons of talk on here about shocks and I know a lot of you love the coil overs because of were you ride and the speeds you get to travel at. So im planning on upgreading my suspension if and when I ever get the rear diff rebuilt I cant get those axles off the diff at all UGH so this weekend it will be a comalong and a tree to see what happens. Anyway back to the shock I think Im gonna go with the fox air shocks a lot of the ridding I do here in MASS and sometimes NH is slow 1st 2nd gear stuff sometimes I get her going 50. I can get a great deal on them cause I know some one free shipping and free first revalving. So i have been playing with my suspension a little while working with the diff issues and I know I can increase the travel so I figure I can go 23 +or- a bit on the down travel and it looks like I can be at about 18 on the up thats the bottom of the rear trailing arm above the lowest point of the frame I am running 30" tires I could probally go to 17 even on the up so If I am correct I need a rear shock about 24" 5" travel and a limit strap set at 23 if that is correct how are you guys all running 8-8.5" of travel and what size are you straps I think the air shock would work for me I know you guys have opinions so please share and If any one has some c-4 kicking around send it to me so I can get my diff done lol CHARLIE
-
I think I have read on hear most of you guys run an 8-8.5 travel rear shock ??? What size limit straps do you run and how are you figuring that travel, what are you running in front 6.5 I'm considering the fox air shocks when I upgrade I do a lot of flow riding were I'm at due to trail size and I have a friend that can get me a great deal on them
-
Ok back at it tomorrow today was fishing and drinking beers out on the ocean! Clear head tomorrow and hopefully she goes
-
Lenny I think I will use the c-4 as a last resort lol. Nocturnalsixer ya I saw a snap on tool guy yestarday he said he can get it but will take a week. I have some bearing type clamps we use at the subaru shop to press bearings of im gonna try putting them around the axle and prying on that with even pressure if that doesnt work im gonna overnite the tool tomorrow FINGER CROSSED AGAIN THANX ALL
-
ugh thaqnx for the support guys and advice ill give it all a try and if doesnt work its dynimite time lol. Im trying to find that tool from Orielys but there is no O rielys around here!!! I hate to take it off the jack stands to put outside to try and figure a way to get axles out with my luck (badluck) ill probally bake something else
-
So another night in the garage and the axles are still on the diff yup!!!! Ugh. Soaked them in on blaster had a friend come over used pry bars wiggled them and nothing! I thought about hooking a chain to my truck and pulling it lol but that would probally not work with the t2 on jack stands! To think I thought rebuilding the diff would be hard! So who wants to fly to Mass and help get this done lol
-
I did the 75-90w of royal purple in the tranny been in it now for about 300 miles or do no issues I plan on changing it around a thousand miles just for the hell of it. I plan on changing the oil every 1000 to 1500 that's what I did with my custom bike that sat and got played with like the trooper I'd rather be safe than sorry as far as my diffs go front I have had Lucas in since first 100 miles rear as well
-
I run castrol synthetic motor oil, lucas gear oil for the diffs and royal purple in the tranny my opinion I think the tranny feels smoother with it and I have had no issues under any conditioins
-
thanx for the advice guys Ill go see about borrowing that tool, my rear diff finally let go Im hoping its just the ring gear bolts I have Lennys upgrade kit to install fingers crossed!!!!!!
-
Any one have a great idea on how to get these frigin axles off the rear diff!!!!!!! I've tried two pry bars not working
-
So finally get all the play outta my front end on the t2, righting things greasing it all and the steering box upgrade. So I take it for a ride I'm amazed in how much better it feels. Just to be on my way home going slow as I approach a puddle just to hear a Loud noise yup rear diff broke!!!!! Hoping its just the ring bolts but if it's more than that any idea were u can get gears or a new unit?? Like I said I was going very slow !!! Then towed it back all in neutral so my fingers are crossed!!!!!
-
Looking for an opinion about these shocks for the rear of the trooper, I can get a really good deal on them. There fix 2.0 shocks remote resivor nitrogen charge 8.5 travel I know I'll need limit straps there coil springless. Part number is 980-99-031-a. Take a look guys let me know what u think u can change the internal valving on them. I got to make a decision local shop mis ordered them it will cost me 320 for both Thanx charlie
