Milage and how did u here of the Joyners
nocturnalsixer replied to charlie's topic in Joyner UTV SxS Forum
I looked up your photos.. very interesting so you welded bracket on the radiator for bottom stock location and remove the top stock bracket then made new bracket welded to the radiator to bolt the radiator over to where old stock bracket rod bolts on to on the roll cage? What did you do about the different hose sizes? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 -
I would try Joyner usa or klung motors that's all i know I'm considering getting one to have on hand and a transmission rebuild kit also if i find out more I'll let you know Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

Thanks for the input that's useful to know... aftermarket shocks call for limiting straps I'll need to remember that.Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 -
I don't know if i want 13 tooth pinion yet... trooper have 15 tooth and renegade is 14 tooth i feel 14 tooth really helped me a lot getting power back except for in 5th gear up steep hill at high speed i still lose speed. I think i just need more hp/torque for now to get that back up...but if you make machined much stronger metal pinion and ring gear i think I'll buy set but not sure yet... I would say yes but if I'm going to do it... i think i might would design one on computer 3dprogram and then make it into plastic with 3d printer to make sure it's all matched up then either use cnc to make one out of slab of metal or use the plastic one to make an mold and use mold to make pinon and clean the flash off (metal Sharp edges) I doubt it would be cheap Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

I don't know About Dolly But How I Seen People Do It Was They Would Drive It Up Into Back Of Truck With Ramps And Back Wheel Would Be On Tailgate And Ramps Would Be On Side In The 2.5" space or under the utv if I remember right but i believe that was an 2 seater though.. that was like two years ago last time i saw that done. Now everybody including me haul it on a flatbed trailer. i just drove into my hometown and back home for fun but my hometown is lax about utv's and ATVs only 1200 people in Small Iowan town... from what i heard some states allow utv on the public roads Iowa unfortunately do not. But im an part time farmer so i just tell the cops I'm going from one work site to other and they are fine with that as long as its not in dark (ughh) i still sneak sometimes but not wise lol. i regret going into courthouse and telling them its an utv and getting atv title when i had an automotive title for the utv to make it street legal! Edited: ALSO.....i believe all utv have their share of problems. My trooper have 5 speed manual transmission and locking rear and front diff and 1100cc 4 inline cylinder engine that's what appealed to me the most. I have had to overcome bad fuse block that let water get in and burn out fuses... then i had to work around overheating by buying higher cfm radiator fan and then i got an bigger radiator but i haven't installed the radiator yet... my rear differential blew up so i went for renegade differential instead of trooper for better gear ratio for my 32" mud tires (highlifter outlaw 2 29.5's) Now I'm going to get electronic fuel jet kit for hp gains and I'm going to replace my outer tie rods and possibly ball joints and wheel bearings. I also broke an rear swingarm but i beefed up the new ones now they are good. My differential also had to be shimmed...tighter tolerance because factory sell them with really loose tolerance and that would cause differential to blow up again. Overall I'm very happy with my team Joyner trooper 2 seater.. next time i think i probably would go for wildcat or just buy an Jeep XJ (Cherokee) 1989-1998 classic square body and then build it up or buy one already built and built one would be able to go where utv go but jeep are a bit wider. Your other alternative is to get two or three atv's if you feel comfortable with that. I still feel utv can go where ATV can't.. especially the trooper it will go where other utv can't go lol. Other people on Joyner section here and i agree about the t2 being more capable off road than other utvs but wildcat is very nice and rides great and faster from what i heard... I wonder if its the tires that stick out the 12'? I would see about deflating the tires a bit to make it shorter if its possible but air up before you drive it out and deflate after u get in if you must get the rv with 12' garage... personally i would just go for 14' then i could put a bit more cargo in there like lawn chairs and etc... I don't know of anyone or any way to tow the utv's...with my utv and possibly all other utv...i can't lock my steering at all.. wiring is a nightmare since mine was from China. I don't know if cvt contiously variable transmission (belt driven automatic) can be towed but i imagine maybe yes but at long period of time and at high speed...i wouldn't chance it myself... hopefully someone else here will chime in. I have only experience with my only one utv i owned it's 2 seater and its about 15' long... but with Google search there's the ranger pursuit that seats 5 http://www.polaris.com/en-us/ranger-utv/6-seater/ranger-crew-800-polaris-pursuit-camo/ Also there's ode's that i heard is very good but a bit problem of backseat getting hot in summer..it seats 5 at 11k brand new http://www.odesutvs.com/ODES_800cc_DOMINATOR_5_Seater_4_Door_UTV_p/odes8004.htm There's also hisun 5seater but from what i heard its a clone of i believe Polaris... but not as good quality as Polaris... again remember i only heard this so it's hearsay i don't know anything else about those This is where i heard about odes hot back seat issue... http://www.utvboard.com/index.php?/topic/2972-2013-Dominator-800cc-EFI---ODES-UTVS-is-Doing-BIG-THINGS#entry17322 2013 Dominator 800cc EFI - ODES UTVS is Doing BIG THINGS Utv is lot of fun to me to go trail riding and to cram it in back of pick up i have seen people do that it barely fit in a long box with the tailgate down it looks like very very tight fit to me lol. Also welcome to the world of utv i hope you find something and enjoy it a lot with your family! My best advice is to go out and look at those models and test drive and test drive again and maybe find someone near u or friend, somebody that would let you ride or drive their utv! Renegade and trooper front diff difference
nocturnalsixer replied to nocturnalsixer's topic in Joyner UTV SxS Forum
Kinarfi...my rear had the right diameter splines so renegade rear matched up to trooper no problem but front threw me off. I don't know why that is like that i looked up in t2 manual it even said that front is supposed to be smaller and on my t2 it's all same front and rear i'm sure that's same for everyone else here? I never installed the radiator because I'm not sure how to get around the different hoses sizes and how to Mount it yet but i do know i would want to fabricate upper Mount and modify the lower Mount and have rubber between the mount and radiator so the vibration wouldn't crack the radiator... I got this one but i can't believe the price went up I think i got it for like 200 i can't remember that was a bit over a year ago http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=380452931454 Mine looks exactly like that... 27x19x2.5thick http://db.tt/iPPX1xcP http://db.tt/MM9VDuEx http://db.tt/IYLN1aiq There's also mounting holes on back of radiator for fans... i don't know if i can fit two fans there I have had my radiator boil out once when my fan fuse blew and I was rushing home before it got hot but as I got home, the overflow coolant tank shot cloud of steam out bottom out of overfill relief and that scared me so much i thought i blew up the cooling system and probably hurt the engine Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 -

Muaythai i have overheating problem also if i stay over 50-55 for few miles.. i bought an bigger radiator that Lenny recommended, i still haven't installed it because i never got to it and i still need to figure out how to do radiator hoses that's different sizes between engine and new radiator. When i get that done i might will do a threadSent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 -

All i see him said is "done that" for upgraded so I'm guessing that he upgraded from first batch where the bolt heads had wires through those instead of locking tabs to retain the bolt heads Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 -

Muaythai1 i would recommend increase coolant capacity or increase air flow to your radiator or even better.. do both For cv that depends.. my cv went out but that's because i let it throw grease everywhere then get dry when boot got torn up. Diff should be shimmed to make sure that don't happen again. I don't know how tinman went so long without shim unless he already have shimmed his diff. I shimmed both front and rear diffs and noticed it improved the tolerance a lot. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 -
The conical washers i pointed out look so-so one of them have damage on inside hole but those are parts that survived the rear end grenade. I also have case that's still usable http://db.tt/KOKByFR9 http://db.tt/S2Psk4yA http://db.tt/OcSKs4WA Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

I have 2 or 3 conical washers also still intact but not in best shape but usable Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

Did you buy the diff already "upgraded" from a store without shimming it? One store told me that they have "upgraded unit" i asked what was upgraded they said stronger bolts and locking tabs to hold the bolt head from turning out... exactly what i already had in my t2 when it blew up...i used lenny kit to take out the sloppy end play Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
-
I have extra of that if u need one... both upper and lower cross shaft from my t2 rear end is still good Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

Hey big Dan which pinion shaft was you talking about? The pinion itself that mates to ring gear or the stub shaft that goes inside carrier to mate with spider gears? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
-
Muaythai Did you put in stronger bolts from Lenny? What broke last time? It's still t2 gearing ratio? I'm guessing spider gear or side gear shafts if its not making noises like it's driving on few broken teeth off pinion... mine broke few teeth at pinion and chipped the ring gear but spider was still good. Is there oil coming out anywhere? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

I'd love to own that rally fighter along with the t2. That looks like lot of fun jumping it and drifting it. I wonder how it will do on trials compared to t2. (I can't hear a thing so i don't know what anyone is saying in the video) Edited.. http://localmotors.com/rallyfighter/ 100k for one! I wish i could afford that.... 6.2 v8 430 hp very nice but i bet mpg isn't good lol Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 -
Renegade and trooper front diff difference

I got pictures of side gear shaft showing the difference in spline diameter http://db.tt/DJskteOp http://db.tt/l6W1dv8Y Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 -
That's interesting i don't know if that matters but i noticed on my 18' tilt flatbed i have installed 12000 lb winch on it and it used 6 circuit breakers in series on the positive battery post. Is that to protect from short across battery and for overload protection? I'm considering upgrading my winch to wired/wireless combo Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

Well i went out to install my shimmed renegade front diff and pull out the old t2 diff that was still in the t2. Before anyone makes this mistake.....pull out the t2 front diff and compare the axle stubs that cv half shaft go over and make sure they are the same. I'm going to have to tear it down and rebuild/shim it all over my mistake for thinking renegade and trooper share exact same diff. Everything is same except for pinion on rear diff but on front diff its the pinon and side gears. http://db.tt/Ws1MPpf2 http://db.tt/AL6ucrTN http://db.tt/igusXr0K http://db.tt/tbAuM5aN Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
