Lenny posted about the carbon filter on the fuel vapor return system filling with fuel and causing surging. You can remove / bypass and see if that does the trick. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Should be the Steering Rack. Grab the tie rod from the rack to the wheel and jerk it up and down. If that is it, Lenny on this site has a kit to fix the rack. If not, take a look at the shocks. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Nope the first fifty Troopers had the solid metal welded. I have one of the first Troopers and they made the change after to try and save wieght and ease of construction. lowgear, you must have an early '08. Is that true? Is your gas tank in the front because again only in the first fifty. Only other option, my dealer was going to let me trade my lid off my '08 for the newer lid. I declined. Called the park this morning. The Camping fee for using the campground includes the fee to enter the developed part of the park. There is NO FEE for using the rest of the park. So; if camped at the dry lake/ dry camping, NO FEES. But if you want to use the showeres or dump site, there will be a fee. I looked at GoogleEarth and the Dry Camping is at one end of the park and the Campground is in the middle. Lenny & Kinarfi, if you BOTH decide to dry camp I will also. I will cancel my reservation and eat the $13 or save $43. Either way is a win as we will be THERE!!!!!!! Just let me know. BUT I will have to find a place to dump my tanks as I will have been on the road for a few day by the time I reach Lenny's. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

For now I have a reservation. Lenny is going to check out the dry camping & campground this weekend. Will decide after we compare info and decide. Watched two youtube videos, dry camping & campground locations. I like the campground but not if it requires daily fee to enter in addition to the campground fee. Will depart the morning of the 7th for home. There is a dry camping area before you get to the campground as you enter the park. At $56 for 3 nights I would save a small amount running the gen while dry camping and I like the quiet of NO GEN. There are other sites open for now but if you are going and want to be in the campground, don't wait. The Cancellation Fee is $13 if cancelled 4 days before the reservation date so not much at risk. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

We have been in Las Vegas, NV., Farmington, NM, Hanksville, UT & now Niland, CA. Never too early to start throwing out ideas. One concern is fuel which is cheapest in EARLY SPRING or LATE FALL. I will start with a few, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, UT & North Rim, AZ Moab, UT My House in Southern AZ south of Tucson Rocky Point, SON, MX (Arizona's Beach, Just 1 1/2 hrs across the border and YES it is safe) Just brainstorming at this point. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
