  6. By NEXT summer, my little Jeep will have AC. Summer just gets too hot around here without having AC to fall back on. UPDATE: Got the doors & rear window installed yesterday just before we were hit by a Monsoonal Thunder Storm. Would have fill her with water, another reason for the Hard Top. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  7. Time for an update. First I added a pic to my gallery. The pic shows the following: My Jeep is a '70 CJ5 and they never had a fiberglass top for the CJ5. But in the late 70's a company named Acme came out with an aftermarket top, a great one! They are rare in the West & Southwest but can be found in the mid-west & east (snow country for winter use). There are changes that have to happen. A late 70's - early 80's windshieldframe has to be installed and a roll bar from the same time frame. I bought a '78 parts Jeep last year and kept the parts I needed & sold the rest. THEN I was lucky enough to see a Hard Top on Craigslist in Albuquerque, NM for a crazy cheap price. Luckily I have a really great friend that lives there. I bought it from the pics and my buddy picked it up. He stored if for a couple of months until I could pic it up last week. Installed it over the weekend and man o man am I PLEASED! Just what I wanted. Have not installed the doors yet as a couple of hinges are missing. Already working on that! Also installed the new/rebuilt trans & transfer case last week, now I have an overdrive an this setup had a Warn Overdrive. Trying to get that great mileage. I am not going to even worry about how it looks until next summer as the only thing important to me now is reliablity. It is going to Mexico twice this winter. Looking Good! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

  14. We have had my better 3/4s car for over 15 years and 140,000 miles. She (the car) was showing major signs of age even tho she looked great, sounds like ME! LOL! SO, I started looking at the Ford C-Max Hybrid last winter. Now that it has been out for nearly a year and a very small number of people saying anything neg, we bought. It drives like a sports car and has POWER. It is a plesant surprise. Milage is increditable. Paid our price as they agreed as we were getting out of the chairs and headed for the door. One feature that we wanted and the C-Max can deliever is it can be towed behind the Motorhome 4 down. No trailer or dolly is needed. Installing the base plates in a week. The shop who is going to do the work order parts yesterday. The entire NOSE has to be removed to install and a seperate light harness installed for the tow lights. Looking forward to taking it with us on our next USA trip. Of course we are still taking the Jeep CJ5 with us to Mexico this winter. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

    '70 Jeep

From the album: '69 Jeep CJ5

  17. This one has the frame & engine (orginal 225 cu in ) that will be in the final Jeep. By this winter that will be the only parts that are left of the Jeep going on this trip. I even have another tub/body that I am currently restoring. Pics, I will go take a pic of the Jeep now. Will take pics of the trip and will upload when I have service strong enough at one of the parks. Check my Gallery! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  18. It's TIME!!! The '70 Jeep is totally road ready. Headed out next week with the Jeep in Tow behind the Motorhome for the AZ high country. This is the first of two summer trips to test the readiness of the Jeep for this winter's trip to Mexico. I took the Jeep out on its first long off-road drive Sunday and everything went well. The return leg of the Sunday drive was on the freeway cruising along at 60 mph. Very very pleased. I was also lucky enough to purchase a fiberglass hardtop last week for future install. For this trip, she will only have a bikini top but better than nothing. Future holds a hardtop with AC (Air Conditioning). I had the radiator rebuilt last week and I installed a new master cylinder. Sure was sorry I missed my ever Jamboree this last spring but as you can see the Jeep wasn't ready. Next Year!!! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  19. In 2008 I happen to drive by the local dealer (at that time but has since given up) and saw the Joyners in front of the business. Bought one and took it home the next day. I got about 150 miles between work sessions to fix problems. Models after the 2008 had a lot of upgrades that I had to work thu. Sold it at about 1500 miles. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

  22. Rocmoc Winery already had 4 grape vines that are 5 years old. BUT they are eating grapes, two Thompson Seedless & two Red Flame Seedless. The two new ones, one Thompson & one Red Flame, were planted in a different location with less sun in hopes of larger grapes. More like Rocmoc Farmer's Market, LOL! Thanks for asking Rick, just knew you would be interested! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico ps Chickens are doing great.
  23. We took the '70 Jeep out for it's FIRST off-road drive. It did well! In addition, and by luck, we planted two more fruit trees & two more grape vines. Then took stock of how many trees we have CUT down on the property in the 10 years we have lived here, SEVEN! But we counted how many we have planted over that same period of time, THIRTY TWO! So have to say, we enjoyed old Mother Earth. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  24. Are you talking about drivelines from the tranny to the diffs OR half shafts from the diffs to the wheels? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
