  1. Any updates? Just found out there is a Car Convention I would like to go to April 25th-30th. Trying to juggle too many Play Dates, LOL ! Toy play dates only one Lady/better 3/4's and she goes with me. rocmoc n AZ
  2. Took a test ride in the rocks today. We have rocks where I live that are as bad as anywhere I have been. The NEW power steering was GREAT! BUT, that ever but ! I came back home and centered the steering wheel. Pulled the steering wheel with the upper short shaft out of the connector U-joint and rotated. Should not have changed anything. Put a little more tow-in in the front geometry, should not have changed anything. Turned the key and the wheel pulled to the right. Test drove up to the local gas station and back home, still pulled to the right. SO, not I have to correct the right pull and the master cylinder is still sticking. Will leave on the positive, the steering was SO NICE in the banging of the rocks. My hands did not take the usual beating when going thu the rocks. Also with the power steering I aired downed the tires some more, 7 1/2 lbs in the front and 10 lbs in the rear. I believe I can go down more. This soften the ride so much more. The trails are horribly rough as the Border Patrol has abuse the trails. The monsoons washed away the lose soil and not rougher than H*LL. Bad for them because some are impassible for them now but the Trooper crawled thu with NO PROBLEM. Getting there in making this thing, my Trooper, a GREAT machine! rocmoc n AZ
  3. So true but someone else would still get to use it 6 months of the year. We are home currently !!! rocmoc n AZ
  4. I was wondering the same thing. I am taking donations for a purchase and I will be the tester, LOL! rocmoc n AZ

  6. flynlow55 POSTED, I'm looking for a stock replacement air filter for my 2008 Trooper (1100cc). Any help would be appreciated..... Quote Move over! Let Rover take over!
  7. I think we talked about this once before. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110761969925&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123 rocmoc n AZ
  8. I have been watching for a smartcar rack on ebay but I think you got the only one. rocmoc n AZ
  9. Sounds like somewhere that we may have to add to next summer's trip when we come up your way. I will take a look at the historical weather data for June. Who was the UTV in front of you in the videos? Looks like it was a little cool, sweatshirts ! I think you pick out big mountains just to see what is on the other side, LOL. rocmoc n AZ
  10. Lenny, I had some of those already Id but what is confusing is the specs. What do I look at to determine if 3:1? rocmoc n AZ
  11. Bravo! I have been looking for a 3:1 but hard to find. Suggestions ! rocmoc n AZ
  12. Electrical connectors are really poor quality and don't take water & mud well in/on the Joyner. Check connectors & grounds. I am in the Sonoran Desert of AZ with little moisture and have nearly zero electrical issues. I really believe the Joyner doesn't do well with moisture. JMHO! rocmoc n AZ
  13. Great to hear. I won't be able to make it SOB, South Of the Border, until Spring. This winter I am concentrating on Kayaking! rocmoc n AZ
  14. I have to agree the electric power steering is a great upgrade! Every time I drive mine I like it even more! rocmoc n AZ
  15. Thanks Lenny, Yes the center blocks is where I was going to move the lines. Good to hear there is enough length in the line to allow the switch without replacement of any of the lines. rocmoc n AZ
  16. I'm going to change out the master cylinder as I have spares. Was hoping someone had an easy trick they had used. Already have a smaller spring on there for the brake light. Thanks tho, rocmoc n AZ
  17. The cantilever setup is fine. Had the same setup in my race car with a screw knob in the cockpit which allowed me to adjust the proportioning thu-out a race or before a race. Worked really well ! Where they screwed up is with the crisscrossing of the brake lines. This setup works only when one master cylinder controls the front brakes and the other controls the rear, IMHO. This is an easy fix if there is enough length to switch the lines to the proper master cylinder. Will complete by next week. To make things worse it in the first 50 Troopers, of which my is one, they installed 8" rotors. Later they gave me the upgrade to the larger rotors that everyone else got later. BUT they said I had to pay for linstall or do it myself. Well I upgraded the rear rotors when I installed the new bearings and have never got around to upgrading the fronts. SO I have a LOT of rear bias. BUT the really great thing is when they gave me the upgrade, they include two NEW master cylinders so I have spares. rocmoc n AZ
  18. Found the cause. The master cylinder for the Left front & Right rear is not releasing all the way. I have to put my toe under the pedal and pull the pedal to get the brakes to release. I have done this for a couple of days hoping it would correct itself with use but doesn't seem to be working. Anyone else have any tips or tricks before I remove and replace? What is the logical of crisscrossing the brakes instead of front on one cylinder and the rear on the other? If I go into the brake system I am going to change to front & rear instead of the crisscrossing while I am working on the master cylinder. I will be able to put more bias on the front brakes. Always something, get one thing fixed and something else appears. Finishing on a positive, REALLY loving the power steering !!!!!! The more I drive it, the more I like it. rocmoc n AZ
  19. Lemons to Lemonade, Maybe ! I an not a fan of the mountain/fire/logging roads. It doesn't require much of a 4X4 so something with a enclosed cab & AC is preferred, like a CAR. LOL ! I like to medium rough stuff with a crawling section every so often to slow down the pace. rocmoc n AZ
  20. Ah you are taking the fun out of it ! How about just your T4? rocmoc n AZ
  21. If I am/were going to get that serious I would step-up to a real rock crawler. The Trooper does a great job, with modifications, doing the what is was designed for. Never good to take an apple and try to turn it into an orange. rocmoc n AZ
  22. Can we all borrow it when not in use? LOL! Please post available times so we can start reserving ! rocmoc n AZ
  23. Kinarfi, tires would hit the swing arm. Would be difficult to do with the independent config we have. Steering BRAKES would be the way to go. Good for everything but hard surfaces. Rick, maybe a articulated body for the T4 would be easier. rocmoc n AZ
  24. Good video. Didn't see anything in your video that was any rougher than we put the Trooper thu. Maybe there is just one set of swing arms that are prone to breaking. In looking at other owners Troopers at the Jamboree this year in Hanksville, I saw 3 different swing arms on the Troopers there. Mine is a 2008 and has never had a problem. nocturnalsixer & kinarfi, what are the year of make of your Trooper? 2scoops, what is the year of your friend's Trooper? Maybe it is a single year of manufacture. rocmoc n AZ
  25. This site has your manual, http://www.jmcmotors.us/jmc-vehicle-manuals Maybe the manual will help. rocmoc n AZ
