  1. This is a general interest Poll. The Finally decision of a date & LOCATION will be made by the majority of attendees. Finally date & location maybe entirely different if there is NO INTEREST ! rocmoc n AZ
  2. The real start dates for the California desert is Thanksgiving Weekend to Easter as it is normally a little too warm the rest of the year. We should be OK as when you get into the season, the number of people becomes insane on the weekends. Have played in these areas since the 60's. Some GREAT riding. Location would be http://www.glamisnorthkoa.com/ Rick, will you be our Leader for this one? We plan on doing a second site either before or after at http://www.riderplan...3/ride_562e.htm The location was selected by Goodrich as one of the best off-road trails in the USA, http://www.4x4wire.c...=1086275&page=0 We plan to do a trip to UT, ID & WY during the summer, anyone is welcome, but it will not be the Jamboree. rocmoc n AZ
  3. Now I remember you. You laid your rig over on its side at the end of the day. You were already climbing crazy stuff. I am the guy who broke and was riding the dirtbike the day it rained on us. Welcome again ! rocmoc n AZ
  4. WOW, great mods! You will have to make it to next year's Jamboree so we can see your suspension work! rocmoc n AZ
  5. Kinarfi, roller bearings are not going to make a difference! It is the HUBs, LOL! rocmoc n AZ
  6. Welcome Daley's ! Good to see they really do exist. I see there are three levers now. Is the 4wd now a lever instead of the electric unit ?
  7. Everyone take pics of their install!
  8. Like Lenny I am running 31x10.50X15. As Lenny said, the 32's would make the gearing too high for crawling. With the 31's we are on the edge with being a great/good rock crawler. I still take off in 2nd in most cases reserving 1st for the slow stuff. Spacing between the gears becomes much more comfortable with the larger tires. I am one of the few that has lower the ride height via the shock coils. My concern was the CV joint angle was to great and all the shock action was in the compression mode. No or very little extension. Very pleased at the point. Take a look at Lenny & my galleries of pics of our Troopers. You will see the 31's have a great look. rocmoc n AZ
  9. BigDogDaddy's post, Has anyone figured out how to get a high/low range in the trooper T2.?? Looking at trying to install a transfer case out of a Sami.. I am putting this up for BigDogDaddy. rocmoc n AZ
  10. DONE! My unit will go out today with everybody that ordered yesterday. THANKS, Rick & Plumber rocmoc n AZ
  11. Kinarfi, Hate to tell you but it is the HUB, not the bearing! I have the same problem, ya just have to drive it and wait for Lenny to start a machining business to repair the hubs or buy a new hub. The steel is too soft in the Hub for the design! Check you bearing before you waste the money on new bearings! rocmoc n AZ
  12. How did you guys order? If you called, did you just call the general # on their site and ask for Casey? How did you pay? Was the total $400 which includes shipping? Did they give you a part # or is Casey winging it? I would like to order today. The heck with waiting for a package! rocmoc n AZ YES, I get up early & I have been up for a couple of hours, LOL!
  13. The 2008 used round tubing as the cross-member the H mount was weld to for the diff in the rear. The upgrade used rectangle tubing. If looking from the rear towards the diff and there is a rectangle tubing, you are OK. rocmoc n AZ
  14. That is going to be the hard part in that the 2008 has a weld solid skid plate under the engine. You will have to carefully grind off the welds so you can remove the skid plate. Lenny's idea is great and better than mine as I just left everything in place and bolted a new skid plate in place made of aluminum. Sized a little larger so the bolts with thu the mounts or tubes. Only take 4-6 bolts. rocmoc n AZ
  15. 2scoops, The entire cross mount has to be replaced between the two tubes of the frame running from front to rear, about a foot in length. If you weld the existing material it will break again, been there and done that. Replace the bottom/lower mount at the same time as eventually it also will break also. I weld a 2"x1" tubing in the place of the round tubing the H mount (the mount the bolt goes thu on the diff) is currently weld to. I cut the round tubing away from the H mount and used rubber washers between the H mount & new cross mount/support and bolted it to the new rectangle tube. I did this on both the top and lower mounts to remove any future fatiguing of the metal. Thus far it has worked great. Just one idea! The existing metal is too soft and wall thickness varies from nothing to a little more than nothing. rocmoc n AZ
  16. I would rather have the complete unit/package for $599. The way my free time is a parts package will sit for a year before I would get around to making the extra needed parts. If you talk to them again, please let them know you have one for a complete package. rocmoc n AZ
  17. Try Jegs or Summit Racing and replace with a good aftermarket universal unit. You will have to change the sending unit and dash gauge both. The Joyner units are crap. rocmoc n AZ
  18. I too am totally in. I am very flexible on the shipping. I will pickup from you (Rick) in CA/LH or ship to Lenny or ship to me; whatever is the easiest & CHEAPEST! I hate to pay shipping companies. rocmoc n AZ
  19. Price is in the reasonable range, I too would step-up for a purchase. rocmoc n AZ
  20. If you look at the slide pics below the steering gearbox, there does appear to be a computer or a controller. When I did a search on the site I could not find the parts in the slide pics so maybe they come with the gearbox. It will take a call to the site to get to the bottom line on the installation & what are all the parts required. rocmoc n AZ
  21. Call them and see what they about using it on our Troopers. Or maybe they can whip up one for the Trooper. rocmoc n AZ
  22. Casey in Phoenix! Rick has the # I believe. rocmoc n AZ
  23. Everyone, please post pics & write-ups of your mods. My next, not going to fix a time-frame as I would just miss it, are doors & power steering. rocmoc n AZ
  24. You could try calling the service dept of some of the large dealers around the country. One of them has to have worked on the same problem. rocmoc n AZ
  25. Welcome. We will try to find answers to your questions. Enjoy, rocmoc n AZ
