  1. If you have one of the trailers with the heavy expanded metal ramps, it is a pain. My utility trailer has one and it is everything I can do to left it at this time. Who knows in another couple of years. I have seen people add a metal upright post with a wheel at the top. Then mount a boat wench on the side and routed thu the wheel. The wench does all the work. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  2. I don't know Kinarfi. Now it is looking like it is going to be too COLD! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico You're just too, too fussy
  3. Hay Kinarfi, I have seen/heard the cow bell on the front of Jeeps when I use to have a Jeep and do Jeep runs. I always thought they were annoying! On a Cow OK, On a 4X4 NOT ok. Hay Lenny, I don't have to sneak pass, I just power pass that turbo powered rig of yours with my stocker but a lighter rig. All the stuff you carry just equalizes us to the same speed/power range, LOL! AND the only time I noticed you had bad hearing was when J***nea was calling, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico (still working on the house, will it ever STOP (HELP))
  4. I think both work well if the gearing is low enough. Rock crawling like what is done in Moab is the only time the gearing in my Trooper is too high. The rest of the time, JUST RIGHT! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  5. And mine is quieter than both Lenny's & Kinarfi which is what we wanted. No noise at all. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

  13. I am using a Flowmaster Auto muffler with a VW spark arrester on the end. Has worked well for 4 years. Can be seen in my gallery, http://www.utvboard.com/gallery/image/220-rocky-point-2/. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

  15. This site says they have one that piggy-backs on the existing EMC / computer. http://www.unichip.com/performance/et5-high-performance-chip.html What ya think? Brostar, ever hear if this? rocmoc n AZ
  16. Isn't Silverbullet going to sale a shim kit? What is the average guy suppose to do? Bet ya he's working on it already! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  17. LOL! I almost called you out Lenny but thought I would wait to see if you were going this route. Problem is comparing your Trooper to mine is like comparing a Corvette to a VW. rocmoc n AZ
  18. Didn't mean or try to offend! Why are people so edgy? rocmoc n AZ
  19. OK GREAT! We need a guinea pig / tester, LOL! Someone who will do before and after data runs, dyno and/or timed runs. NOT just a subjective, It feels stronger. I want DATA before I tear my motor apart and spend bucks. rocmoc n AZ
  20. If you make an engine conversion, please take pics & write updates on this site. I am so interested in upgrading the engine. I don't believe you have to loose 4WD. I am not a tranny guy, have just tore them up, but they should be able to weld the two output shafts together someway. It is done all the time with racecar diffs and can't be that much different in a transaxle. There are clutches that come out & weld the housings/axles or weld everything together. Just remember, IMHO the weak link of the powertrain is the diffs. They are max'd already with the power we have and more power is going to put them at even more risk. Lenny is trying to find a solution to this problem. rocmoc n AZ
  21. Sorry to hear Tony. The u--joint driveline was upgraded the first year. They are no good. Joyner at the time did a FREE CV-joint driveline replacement. Would be interested in your Joyner if you were not so far away. I need an engine & rad. rocmoc n AZ
  22. What did you get? he said excitedly! rocmoc n AZ
  23. IF they did Lenny's suggestion, I would be tempted to buy a new Trooper. BUT don't forget they new Trooper would have to be sized/have gear ratios matched to the larger 31" or 30" tires. If they didn't and we upgraded to the larger tires we lose the benefits of the really low granny gear. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  24. We have had to change our business model & how we vacation. Reason the stupid economy & trouble in Mexico. SO, In 2012 we are reversing everything. We use to vacation the winter in Mexico and work off & on thu out the rest of the year. We now are going to work a single chunk of time in the winter making trips to Fld & Tx where the economy is much better. Then we will do the Mexico trip in June wandering around BUT instead in the USA. SO, in 2012 we WILL be pulling the Trooper behind us and be visiting the North Rim of Grand Canyon, Very Southern edge of Ut,, a visit with friends in Hurricane Ut.(if I have not made them too mad with my Joyner Company post), up to Moab, Ut., on to Vernal, Ut., visit friends in St. Charles, Id., over to the Sand Dunes at Killpecker, Wy (I believe Kinarfi was talking about going here) and will return home to AZ. This will happen in the month of June. I will post a few more details later and maybe we will be able to meet others off-roaders along the way. There will be other sidetrips along the way. If you have any interest, PM me as I am not going to post ALL details. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
