  1. When we travel, more people know us as rocmoc than by our real names. We have showed up at a full campground in Mexico to be turned away until they find out we are rocmoc. This is because for YEARS we have been know on the RV boards as rocmoc. We even respond to rocmoc when talking & visiting with people in person. SO, rocmoc n AZ/Mexico with pics in our gallery
  2. Don't know, maybe it is in reverse of the way I have be describing on the Chery engine. Maybe It is releasing pressure in the valve cover to the catch can and oil that is in the vent is deposited in the catch can. Then the oil in catch can is returned to the pan via the tube going to the pan. Yeah I checked mine and the tube to the oil pan is below the oil level in the pan.
  3. I talked to Admin and there is no way to lock or make this topic or a portion of the site private. Sorry! Don't post anything you don't want the rest of the world to see or know. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  4. But when the oil is returning to the oil pan after being pumped to the valve cover chamber, the oil passages fill with oil and pressure will build in the crankcase. If you start getting blow-by from bad compression rings the pressure will finally get great enough to start blowing up the oil passages out thu the oil cap on the valve cover when you remove it while the engine is running. This is the most simple way to see if you have a problem with your rings. Somewhere the crankcase HAS to vent. Even on my motorcycles there is a tube off the top of the case that vent to the air. Notice you even have vent tubes off the top of the diffs & trans. Heat is created during use and heat produces pressure change in a sealed container. Has to vent or blow the seal or the side of the container. Maybe this is why oil is showing up in the Later models of the Chery engines in the Later Troopers. I have NO oil in my intake.
  5. Ya miss last year in New Mexico, closer!
  6. Yes but pressure builds in the crankcase system as an engine runs. This pressure has to bleed off or it will push thu the valve seals & oil rings causing oil burn & smoking. That is why you use to have to replace the old smog valve on the original smog systems because they would plug with curd & oil. The new systems route thu a host of canisters to clean and finally burn the cleaner remains off in the intake with the fuel.
  7. I don't believe so but I will ask Admin.
  8. Mike, did you get permission to post your sister & brother-in-law's pic. Can't post a pic because of the FBI secret ID program my better 3/4's is in. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  9. There has to be a crankcase breather setup somewhere. When there use to be no hoses coming off of the oil pan then there was a tube off the side of the block or breather caps on the valve covers. The pressure that builds in the crankcase has to be relieved someway or you will blowout the valve seals and oil rings on the pistons.
  10. Most of us are pretty shy about even sharing info in a PM. After all the years we have been together I only have a few names & tel # and that was after meeting at the Summer Jamborees. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  11. My hose comes off of the right side of the pan and goes to the bottom of the oil catch can. Out of the side of the oil catch can is a smaller hose that goes to the side of my valve cover. That is it, a simple breathing oil catch can setup. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  12. I'll be there, LOL! even if no one shows up????? EDIT, by your favorite super duper moderator,
  13. Here is a shortcut. http://www.utvboard.com/topic/1687-southern-utah-jamboree-the-next-get-together/
  14. In 2012, if you wish, we can hold the Joyner Adventure at our home, hopefully I will have it finished or close to it. We can get 4-6 motorhomes/camping trailer in the yard & a few on the street out front. The street is no problem as we are on the end of a dead end, just closer to our neighbor's dogs. 30 amp power in the yard & water, no sewer & could run power & water out into the street. There are also places to stay from the Resort to B&B. We would ride directly from the house but you have to purchase a $20 Arizona Off-Road Sticker with the driving on the street a small amount option. Plenty of places to ride to & no one else except the Border Patrol on the trails. I already know the trails. Time would be in Oct. after the monsoons so everything will be green & no dust with temps in the 80's. Pool & Spa to relax in, by after the rides or should you choose not to take that ride. You can go on Google Earth and type in Tubac, AZ then hit the clicky. Just draw a fairly large circle around Tubac. Riding would focus on the North half of the circle. Also golf and other activities if you want. We could also take a short day trip and drive to and the walk across the border into Mexico. This would be in regular vehicles, not the toys. You will need a passport or the new short version ID card. Safe during the daytime, we know an incredible lunch place.
  15. Has to be the same size. You will rip the equipment apart when you get on a hard surface with the front turning at a different # of revolution than the Rear. Don't do it! See, I do good deeds! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  16. Actually I got the check. Didn't know what it was for but I spent it anyway. Figured it must have been for some good deed I did, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  17. I run the desert all the time and have never had a reason to add an oil cooler. Yes my pressure is as described but as Jarrad says no problem. I don't have a cooling problem since I made some plastic body changes to allow more airflow. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  18. Just make us a new lower first gear we can install in the existing trans.
  19. T4 has the same front end and suspension as a T2. Lenny & myself have been running 31X10.50X15 for a couple of years. You have to modify the firewall a little and do not need power steering anymore than already required. There are post of how we modified our T2's. Lenny cut and weld a change to his firewall & I used a big hammer and did the same thing, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  20. Glad to hear you are doing well.
  21. Yup, what Lenny says!
  22. If you are running the bigger tires, the need is for a LOWER first gear. The bigger tires makes the spread between the gears more usable and plenty of top end speed.
  23. What we really need is some gear options for the trany. In one of my race cars that had the same configuration of engine & trans as the Trooper, I had the option of changing out the stock 5th gear with different ratio. We need a optional lower 1st gear. Just take someone casting a new gear, it isn't than difficult.
  24. Will check my when I get a chance, mine is also an '08.
