  1. My Crows are Cam-lock. Of course I got a racer's discount (: Belts are pretty cheap now that the internet has come along. The Sand Dune guys don't always like the cam-locks as they jam sometime when sand gets in them. rocmoc n AZ
  2. Welcome back Lenny, Depends on Shipping. You can get new Crow for around $70. rocmoc n AZ
  3. Thank you for your response. Sadly, I still need more raw power or torque. We will keep working at it. Good to have you both on-board. rocmoc n AZ
  4. The one river crossing was the crazy part. Not me , we see too many people washed away when monsoon season hits. If someone want to one up them the wash behind our house gets even more aggressive than that river. If someone want to try, I will film & post for you on youtube while we search for you down the river afterwards, LOL. rocmoc n AZ
  5. Mopartist, That is what happen to us. I was a big time skier, only use I had for winter. When I retired we we moved first closer to the slopes but qot tired of the snow and headed south. Best move we ever made. Great time to buy in AZ. Home prices are back to 2002 levels, half of what they were. What can I say, we took the Trooper for a ride yesterday. rocmoc n AZ
  6. Phoenix for now. rocmoc n AZ
  7. Heck no, I won't go outside and until it is gone. Suppose to be back in the 70's by Tues. rocmoc n AZ
  8. OK Garth here it comes, you ask for it. What will the bell housing of the Chery 1100cc fit other than the Chery engine? I have hear it is VW. We want more raw hp, not the bolt-on / add-on stuff. What engine will button up to the Trooper trans? Where does the design for the diffs come from? Arctic Cat? The Chinese rarely reinvent something that already exist. What diff did they copy? rocmoc n AZ
  9. Hay you are sending it our way. We are suppose to be 47/22 degrees Sunday. We are almost in Mexico, it ain't suppose to happen here, LOL. What are you doing up there to send your cold stuff down to us. Keep it, it is yours. Siriusly, I think most of the palm trees will not survive this weather. Sure going to change the landscape. rocmoc n AZ
  10. Sorry but I still don't know who they are! rocmoc n AZ
  11. Sounds like it is going to be a Super Nice Trooper or a Trooper SN. rocmoc n AZ
  12. Going in the RV garage & gather dust! Nothing exciting, Sorry! rocmoc n AZ
  13. I am changing mine over to turning brakes, like you find on a sandrail, & adding a micro-lock on the brake system. I agree, mine has never worked except when I didn't want it to. rocmoc n AZ
  14. G-Pa, look up my profile. There are pics in my gallery and thu-out my posts. I will try to add some more current pics to my gallery. rocmoc n AZ
  15. Clean a spot in the RV garage and stick it in there. First thing I want to do is see / use the trans to ID if anything else / engine will fit. Toy, Sub, Honda, ? That is it for now. Too many other project in line before to even worry about it. Also removes a little worry on my part if I blow a diff. Nothing exciting! Maybe a rocmoc & Lenny experimental Trooper, LOL! rocmoc n AZ
  16. Thanks Jarrad. It is always nice to get to the end of a project. rocmoc n AZ
  17. FINISHED! Perfect is what came to my mind as I was making the last & final test drive. I have a set of bumps & dips I have been using for my benchmark. When I started the rear of the Trooper would Rodeo thu the low point of the dips. When I would hit the bumps it was harsh and I could feel the hit. NOW, the dip is absorbed & dampened like a off-road racing truck you would see on Speed. The bumps, I can hear the hit but NOTHING or nearly nothing is felt. I am very very pleased. Final setup, Rear is double shocked using the stock Joyner shocks as the spring setup with very little or no dampening. I bled ALL of the N2 pressure off of the shocks. The Fox shocks' dampening is adjusted to 35 / 55 (compression/extension). Front tire pressure is 13 1/2 lbs. The load on the springs was backed off 1 3/4" to 2" softening the load on the springs & lowering the ride height. Front is the stock Joyner setup. The load on the springs was backed off 1" softening the load on the springs & lowered the ride height. I lowered the N2 in the stock Joyner shocks to 5 lbs. Tire pressure is 10 lbs. I am DONE with the shock project. rocmoc n AZ .
  18. Bike engines are killer fast, I run one in my race car, Yamaha 1150. Problem is most don't have a reverse. I know in England they run my car and they have a reverse but have never seen or hear how they do it. Another problems is torque, most are hp with high rpms and low on torque. Great for sand but not for crawling. rocmoc n AZ
  19. We are selling the Toyhauler first. Don't need two RVs and only have storage for one. We aren't in a hurry as the market for RVs is only going to soften more. LOL, the trade was my mig. rocmoc n AZ
  20. Rick, how about an update. Will start mine soon. rocmoc n AZ
  21. Worked on the Trooper today. I adjusted the spring load on both front & rear shocks. Finally backed off / soften the rear shock by around 1 3/4" and 1" in the front. Still have 12" of ground clearance. I am amazed how much the springs are loaded. I backed off the rears over 3" and still had load but lost too much ride height. The angle on the CV axles is now much better. My feeling is Joyner cranked up the load on the shocks to get the ground clearance they wanted without regards to design. Ride is much improved. Tomorrow I will install the Fox shocks in the rear and bleed off a little N2 from the front shocks. Then I will finally be finished with the ride & shocks. Next will move on to the gas tank, needs a new routed filler tube or fuel cell , and the doors. rocmoc n AZ
  22. I didn't even look at the name. Just looked for location. Lazy I guess, LOL! Sent you a PM Jarrad. rocmoc n AZ
  23. Where are you? I would be interested in the Trooper but depends on where you are. rocmoc n AZ
  24. Scoops, with my setup I used the existing Joyner springs. I added a second Fox Shock to the existing factory setup, not another coil-over shock replacing the factory setup. Lenny has done the most work with what is the correct spring setup. Haven't heard from Flatbed for a while so don't know if he changed from what he posted on this forum. Good luck. rocmoc n AZ
  25. Nah, we are finally back home. Will get the Fox Shocks back on the Trooper tomorrow and soften the springs some more. I have been replacing the rear wheel bearings & CV axles on my better 3/4's car. Finished today, sounds beautiful but the work was a pain. rocmoc n AZ
