  1. Jarrad, I thought he was saying $550 / axle not for all four. I don't know, that is what I was assuming. What is it? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  2. The diffs will break before the axles. The axles are made pretty well. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  3. For $550 a corner I am very happy with the travel I have! rocmoc, frugal n AZ/Mexico
  4. You ALL must be FREEZING. It is 34 degrees here but the sun is out bright in AZ near the Mexico border. Suppose to be 14 degrees the next two nights. The ice is still on the fountain and in the chicken's water. It have NEVER been this cold. Bummer, darn global warming. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  5. Main upgrade would be the CV Joints. Need something like they use on the ATV Mud lift kits. The stock suspension will take more travel but the CV Joints will not, They are the current limiting factor. Also the upgraded CV Joint would allow a tighter turning radius. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  6. A INEX Legends with the '37 Chevy Sedan body. This is one of the ladder classes for Nascar but you can also roadrace them. Top speed 150 mph. When I race a 3/8 mile track, I am doing around 90 mph when I go into the corner. Major rush. Problem is a new owner took over the Tucson track and eliminated our class. I don't feel like moving over to the dirt track and racing at 9-10pm at night isn't as fun as it use to be. I have been the oldest guy out there for the last few years. But had a ball and ready to move on to something else. Here is a link to it on Craigslist, http://tucson.craigslist.org/cto/2192824176.html rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  7. My CRF450R owner's manual says you need to do a top end rebuild at 65 hours. Have had it for 7 years with 400-500 hours. Have never had to change a thing other than oil & filter and it has a ton of low end. Thanks for a light at the end of the tunnel on parts. High prices does bring alternativea into the market which is a good thing. At the time WE WERE the go to power but CanAM & RZR have raised the bar. Hope your & Silverbullet's aftermarket efforts are fruitful or we WILL be left behind as a product and in a drag race. More power doesn't mean we have to give up low-end, waiting for your fixes. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  8. Hay Rick, Where do you keep your Pipe bender? Is it portable? LOL! You can use my mig if I can use your pipe bender. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  9. I sold my street bike on Craigslist and had no problems. Have my racecar on there now and not even a call, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  10. My caliber is 35 Remington. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  11. Sadly it is not just the engine. IF we pulled 200hp our of our engine the rest of the drivetrain would be trash very quickly. Just venting! Even my race car has to run a car Toyota diff mated to the 1250cc Yamaha motorcycle engine to with-stand the power. Plus our parts are not CHEAP! You can purchase a used BMW diff for $250 but can't touch a Joyner diff for that! Still venting! My last set of Brake pads cost $6 / corner and now they are $15 / corner. Things aren't getting better! Still venting. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  12. Sorry about that! You need a 36mm socket OR a 1 7/16" socket. I used a 1 7/16" from my 3/4" drive set. I used a huge pipe wrench to hold to axle while I torque the nut if you are doing a one person job. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  13. I'm watching a snowmobiling show, SnowRax, on the outdoor channel. The Polaris Supertrax snowmobile is pumping out 150 horses from a 800cc Liberty engine. Our horsepower output is ridiculous in today's market. Someone needs to upgrade / improve our power-plant or replace some Design Engineers. JMHO! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  14. Admin knows we value the info and space is provided. Those topics, pinned, have been up for a couple of years. Only if there is a accidental failure would we lose the info and that is why a few of us keep printed copies. We have 99% of the info at all times in printed form as backup just in case. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  15. Torque, low-end torque. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  16. Good for you Quig. The first trip is always the hardest. Everyone after will get easier. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  17. You sure can see where she was burning oil but the burnt carbon looks kind of funny. Maybe it is the new gas. Lenny & Snowman, look at the pics of the head around the valves. Funny burn. Maybe because of being so wet with oil and trying to run/burn. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  18. I carry an undersized tire & rim as a spare to save weight. The spare is just to get me back & I am pretty confident that I can get back from anywhere with anything as a spare. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  19. I never got a book either. They had not been published yet when I bought my Trooper. I downloaded the BOOK and saved it on my computer. IMHO, 1" is too much, should cause tire wear & feel heavy. 1/8" to 1/2" is all that is needed. Tow-in is what makes the steering stable for most people. When you go to neutral, 0" tow-in or tow-out is when it gets twitchy. I run 0" on my race cars and at high speed they wanted to wander when traveling in a straight line. Great for turning. You really have to know what you are doing with no tow-in at high speed, be careful. Turning in is also a junction of Caster. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  20. There are a couple of parks that have trails to the Horse Arena where it all starts. You don't have to drive on the road. These parks reserve a block of spaces for people going to the rally. When you call, tell them you are with/attending the rally and if they still have a space for you. The rally use to list the parks and how far away they were. They will be the two closest parks. Don't give up yet! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  21. Not true. If you are part of the Rally, Everybody and anybody gets to caravan to the Trailheads as long as you have a driver's license. The police escort the caravans and you do not have to be street legal. You DO have to have the Utah off-road sticker or have a sticker from a state that has an exchange program setup with Utah. Arizona does so my sticker is good in Utah just as Utah's sticker is good in AZ. rocmoc n Az/Mexico
  22. They are correct in that this approach did work on the old carb & intake manifold setup. The simplest is sometime the best. What we need is an independent tester, Lenny or Snowman? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  23. What ya think? http://throttlebodyspacer.com/ rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  24. What you can't see as you are climbing this major rock face there is a major off-camber towards the downhill side/cliff. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  25. Of course we would not have a problem with moving the June Adventure to this location at the trailhead of Steel Bender, LOL. Problem is Moab can get HOT in June. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
