  1. Yup panty weights and proud of it. That is why we live where we do and if AZ's southern border was extended another 200 miles further south we would live there. We normally don't go outside before it is 60 degrees. It was a good time to be sick as second day there was no reason to go outside except to let the chickens out. Those stupid things love the cold weather. Funny to see them come out to get a drink and have to pick at the frozen water. Heck the backyard fountain still had ice thu-out the day into the evening. Will be interesting to see what the ice sculpture looks like in the morning. Today's was really neat, I took a pic. rocmoc n AZ
  2. What IF? It is COLD & weather is deteriorating. I / WE are fair-weather individuals. Watching it close but every-time I check the temp is colder for the weekend. rocmoc n AZ

  9. Surprise, surprise, surprise. I did the easy one first. Everything was the same until it came time to remove the bearing. This one was tight / press in. It was more of a challenge to remove the bearing from the housing. This is the way they are suppose to be, my left side is a very very small amount enlarged. Not a problem yet but something to watch in the future. That is why the outside of the radius showed it had spun. The real design flaw is the housing. It should have been a bit larger so it could have held a standard 35 72 35 bearing. MAYBE someday if a new part is made Joyner or aftermarket why make this correction, a very easy fix with NO additional expense if done at the time of manufacture. In the next post I am linking TWO youtube videos of the rear bearing replacement on a BMW. The process is nearly identical. The bearing is identical but a std size, humm the Germans have there act together. rocmoc n AZ
  10. Good morning Mike & All. Nah, don't want the humidity thing either did that when I lived in NorthEast Texas. Good to see we don't have to worry about you freezing to death. Any Floods? Parts of Aust. is getting pounded. Well, no snow yet. WINDY, 60+ mph and rain. If it does snow, suppose to be tonight. I don't think it is going to happen from looking at the radar. We are suppose to get into the teens tonight and that will happen. We usally get the teens once a year. Everything is wrapped & covered. Just been watching TV, too cold to even go out in the garage, LOL! Maybe today. rocmoc n AZ
  11. Just found out and wanted to make everyone aware so they can plan accordingly, the Parker 250 off-road race is the same weekend. Little or no impact except when passing Parker on Hwy 95 and Parker is on the other side of the river on California 95. We will be traveling on Arizona 95. rocmoc n AZ
  12. Yeah they won't work on the Trooper either without a spacer. rocmoc n AZ
  13. I use a nail as the cotter key. Works great and is cheap. Yearly is too much work vs reward for me. It is like the people who change their oil every 3,000 miles. I change mine every 15,000 miles. Originals Joyner bearings lasted 4 years. I would be more concerned if I played in a lot of mud & water and that going to happening here in So. AZ. This is the same style bearing ran in the rear of BMW and they don't have the additional seals, only the seal on the bearing. The bearings in the BMW are normally good for 60,000+ miles but the quality is the big question. Thanks for the info & advise. rocmoc n AZ
  14. What is the dia. 14" or 12"? What is the backspacing? I maybe interested and will be in Mesa the end of Jan. rocmoc n AZ
  15. That is where you need to beware of your backspacing on the wheels. You can get them with the correct backspacing. You may have to change over to a more common slave cylinder application and make new mounts. rocmoc n AZ
  16. 10K would buy a Trooper & a Sandrail. Sounds like a plan to me. rocmoc n AZ
  17. Well you know where we will be in a little more than a week! You are welcome. rocmoc n AZ
  18. Not to worry Quiq, warms back up into the 60s within a week at the most. One reason we head South into Mexico chasing 80 degree weather in the winter time. rocmoc n AZ
  19. Yes they are tough to steer when the lockers are engaged but power steering is the fix. They even have power steering on most new ATVs now because they steer better also. Steering box, use Lenny's fix or replace. Told you it was more like the Suzuki Samurai, LOL! Told you power was like the old VW bug but not that much different than the RZR. RZR doesn't have the top speed the Trooper does & the Trooper can out preform the RZR most of the time off-road. You also don't have the room in the RZR like you do in the Trooper. It is all give & take. Yeah I also have a problem paying over MSRP. RZR was the same way when they first came out. Just wait a couple of years and they will be down to MSRP, LOL! Not a problems unless you are old and time is limited, I can say this as I am OLD! rocmoc n AZ
  20. We are suppose to get snow starting tomorrow afternoon, 2 - 10". This is suppose to be the worst winter storm AZ has had in YEARS! rocmoc n AZ So it looks like your going to get re-aquanted with that white stuff.I planed on leaving tomorrow late afternoon to head over to havasu, heard on weather report we are expecting rain, wind and snow in Cajon pass in the afternoon.I might sneak out early to try and beat it. Yours, Rick CA/AZ Be really careful. Our local News says this is a BAD one! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico Heck a bird flying over and having a wet sneeze is a bad one in your area.(LOL) I know about your monsoon season.been in em,no fun Yours, Rick CA/AZ Well! This is "BS" I buy motorhome to go south to get away from this shi-stuff, snow.. Now what!! Quiq

  22. Will be working on Trooper bearings tomorrow. I had to get some metal prep cleaner today in Tucson, run out yesterday. rocmoc n AZ
  23. I love em too. Have had two. A Cj3B with a built Chevy 283 and a Cj5 with the original V6 & overdrive. I have thought about my next driver will be a Jeep Rubicon with lockers. rocmoc n AZ
  24. Kinarfi, Will do, that is what I am trying to do. Not everyone lives near a great dealer/vendor like the ones mentioned above for parts so they are on there own. Hopefully this will help them order and install themselves. There are always little surprises in every task and that is what I will try to eliminate. rocmoc n AZ
  25. Sale the winch and recoup some of your investment. Only need one winch. rocmoc n AZ
