  1. The 2011 Trooper is suppose to have an Automatic Transmission option. Snowman or anyone else with access, when parts are available, please find out how much the auto trans is and what the gear ratios are? If the same drivelines are used? To me that would be the greatest upgrade possible for rock crawling. rocmoc n AZ
  2. Post I made on another site and the responses. One of them put up great pics of Ruby's and the off-roading nearby. http://www.trailerlife.com/cforum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/24629728.cfm rocmoc n AZ

  6. Lenny, Excellent plan. April Fools Day is The Trail selection day. Campground / campsite is important and being able to drive to trail head. Temp cool, we want to run the heater this year not the AC. rocmoc n AZ

  12. New tread started, General location selected - Southern Utah. rocmoc
  13. OK, Southern Utah is selected as the NEXT Jamboree site for June 2011. NOW where do we camp? What trails? I would prefer a campground with Wifi and Paiute needs hotel/motel nearby. HELP! Reason is trying to evenly minimize fuel cost for the majority of people, temp & highest number of votes. Please post links to sites with info. http://atvutah.com/trails.htm http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:B6jWTODufnQJ:atvtrailreviews.com/node/342+Hanksville,+UT+ohv&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us http://atvtrailreviews.com/node/304 http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:QBIf5u_paM4J:www.dmcphoto.com/Articles/Factory%2520Butte/index.html+Hanksville,+UT+ohv&cd=5&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us http://www.camping-usa.com/campgrounds/utah/hanksville/ http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:neDa51VdaVsJ:www.tripleblaze.com/best/%3Fc%3D99+Hanksville,+UT+ohv&cd=17&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us Just a start. Somewhere in Southern Utah, maybe Hankesville if that is what people want.
  14. Kinarfi, you can change your vote. rocmoc n AZ
  15. Yes, my Joyner winch is most similar to the 3000 lb winch. My other Harbor F winch IS the 3000 lb 12V and I have another Harbor F winch that is 120V. rocmoc n AZ
  16. There is a poll with Southern UT in it already. I don't understand what you are asking. Are you saying you want another poll with just the two locations? rocmoc n AZ
  17. The original Joyner winch is mounted on a server tongue and can be installed in the front or rear with the controls on the dash. After pulling it out from under the seat, I 'm thinking about leaving it at home. Never had a winch on any of my Jeeps or Dune Buggies. rocmoc n AZ
  18. I agree too short. That is why I carry a 30 foot tow strap with us. The first and only time I used the winch I didn't have anything with us. We high-centered and were 10 feet short of cable in reaching the nearest object. Luckily a Jeep came by and position himself so I could attach to him. When we got home, tow strap went in! Almost 3 years ago. rocmoc n AZ
  19. Forgot to say there is NO specs / NO info on the Joyner winch except 12V. rocmoc n AZ
  20. I have the 3000 lb winch. Remember you are not lifting the Trooper off the ground. You are only helping so 3000, is plenty. I think the orginal winch on my Trooper isn't anymore than 3000 lbs. Just took a look at my Joyner winch and wouldn't surprise me if it is only 1500 lbs. Tiny motor & no gear reduction. I store it under my driver's seat and first time I have looked at it in a couple of years The thing is corroding like crazy. Sorry I didn't get the pics today. I was under the Toyhauler ALL DAY welding, grinding and replacing. Less than half done. Having to rebuild 2 of the 4 spring hangers on the right side. Hopefully the left side isn't in as bad shape but I bet it is. Will find out tomorrow. Two of my grinds took a dump so had to use a air grinder and my big compressor is down also. Everything is getting old and breaking. One of the grinders I have had and used for 40 years. rocmoc n AZ
  21. Too Far Kinarfi for me. We have to be in Sun Valley, Id for the 4th of July. That is why we are so agreeable with Northern UT & ID locations. If not, with the future price of Diesel next summer we would not be going any further than So. Ut. rocmoc n AZ
  22. I have a 12V winch I bought at Harbor Freight that is strong enough to pull the race car into the toyhauler. Cheap & have had no problems. I will try to take pics of the HF winch and my Joyner winch, which is the early server setup, today. rocmoc n AZ
  23. I am using gas but shield does penetrate deeper & is hotter. Just got back from a bicyle ride so am headed out to weld now. rocmoc n AZ

  25. Vote early, vote often. The Chicago way! rocmoc n AZ
