  1. Kinarfi, Most parts houses sale a universal sending unit, the old style with the float & arm. Can I use one of these, talking about the ohms? What is the ohm range of the gauge? I can physically make it work! thanks, rocmoc n AZ/Baja Super Super Double Dupper Mod.
  2. The rear driveline from the trans to the rear diff is a CV jointed shaft with two boots. The front driveline from the trans to the front diff is the original style with the u-joints and no boots. Yes, all axles have CV joints and boots. The boots on the driveline is NOT the same as the axles. The universal boots that Lenny spoke of will work on the axles as the shaft is a larger dia like a car but will NOT work on the driveline as the shaft dia is small like a UTV. Ricks problem boot is on the driveline. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  3. The axles come out of the diff with just a little pressure from a large flat screwdriver or bar. I have removed the diff several times and it is no problem. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  4. Where is this going to go, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Baja President of ALL Moderators in the Universe
  5. Great because if you play with these things correctly you will have to make repairs. LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  6. Kinarfi, I am chuckling! LOL! Have a GREAT day! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  7. IMHO, don't replace with the factory boot. If you are doing all that work, you want something that is going to last. That is the Polaris boot! Cost more but worth every penny. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  8. A added benefit to the expanded metal engine cover is I can lay my take-out Pizza box on it for the drive home and the Pizza is still hot when I get home. LOL! It really works. This is my test to see if the heat is venting off of the engine. rocmoc n AZ/Baja Super Super Double Dupper Moderator (self proclaimed!) LOL!
  9. Is the windshield easily replaceable? My Lexan windshield is getting pretty trashed up after 3 years, will replace after this winter's trip to Baja. I am also going with thicker next time. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  10. Sure wish you guys posting stuff for sale would also add the location of the item or update you profile. FIRST thing I look for! Even just the State would help. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  11. Rick, What about a on-line source? Should be one that can ship it to you. Weight is light so shipping shouldn't be too much. Cost was just under $30 which seemed a bit high. BUT the quality is excellent so should never have to replace and less you tear it up like I did (rear diff broke loose from mounts allowing the dirveline to beat against frame ripping the boot). If you are in Orange, Bert's in San Diemas (sp). Shouldn't be too hard to find a source in LA area. If you are in LH, Phoenix, Tucson or Las Vegas. Good luck, rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  12. Rick, I was always talking about my dirveline boot only in the topic. Lenny was sharing what he found with the axles. I tried what Lenny shared but it didn't work on my driveline. Let us know if you are more successful than I was with the universal boots. I could not find one that had the end sizes that are required on the driveline. The Parts houses let me go in the back and try every one of them. This was at Checkers, a race shop, Auto Zone and another before I gave up and went to a Motorcycle / UTV dealer. Then I finally found what I needed. What you are going to run into is nothing will be as small as the small end of the boot. Only Polaris. Good luck! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  13. http://www.utvboard.com/topic/1697-cv-boot-for-driveline/page__p__6766__fromsearch__1#entry6766 Below this post is the story of installation. "I found what looks like an exact fit. Polaris CV Boot Kit # 2203438, (PR-8061)." It was an exact fit. Of the Highest quality, show NEVER fail. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  14. I found a replacement and the manufacturer & number is in the parts thread. Pain to install. I talked about it in one of my post. Will try and find it & link. The driveline can be a pain to remove or just pop out with a tug. rocmoc n AZ/Baja

  16. Went for a ride today. My 6 foot son is visiting and had no trouble fitting in the seats of my Trooper. He had more than 3 inches between the top of his head and the roof. Passenger hand hold fit him as well as my 5'5" better 3/4's. Absolutely no problem entering and exiting. He did not even have the seat adjusted all the way towards the rear. Trooper preformed great. Had a couple of situations where full front & rear lockers were REQUIRED. Can't wait until we have an event where you can see & sit in it. Weather has been prefect for riding. Thunderstorms have been passing thu and keeping the dust down. Not enough rain to create MUD, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  17. Kinarfi, What is this Super Duper Moderator? What did you do to or for Admin? rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  18. Gumball, sorry just sending you our note of concern. Hope you are feeling better. We also were on the road in our Toyhauler, home now. Was you Toyhauler hitch pull or 5th wheel? rocmoc n AZ/Baja

  21. I believe in it will be Africa in that time frame. India will come along with China. South America along with Central America will have to resolve the Drug Cartel Issue before they can move to the same successful position as India & China. rocmoc n AZ/Baja/TX
  22. Agree fully Mike. The sheep are blindly lead to slaughter. rocmoc n AZ/Baja/TX
  23. I understand the move to reduce expenses to compete but if you do nothing to help the middle class survive, there will be no one to purchase the cr*p you are cheaply making. As a country, if you only spend with no product to sale or manufacture you will go broke. If you run a company that only spends with no income to replace the outgoing cash flow, you will have to close the doors when the money is gone. That is the USA, ALL outflow with no / or insufficient inflow and you can only print money for so long. Thus we are going broke and the middle class is dieing. We travel to Mexico a lot and the better 3/4s & I have had long talks about this. WE see American eroding towards the economic status of Mexico and Mexico is improving (until recently with the drug cartel cr*p) toward the USA status. The two will meet in the middle someday and I don't believe it is that far off ( the cartel stuff will be calmed with the next Mexican Presidential administration change). The result will be a better Mexico & a poorer USA. I (IMHO) don't believe a Global Economy is good in the long run for the USA. Just as you see the little old town die when the new kids / cities come on the block so will the USA as the new kid / growing countries come on the global block. This is also going to be true for the other currently dormant / older manufacturing countries of the world. Now if you have a product to sale, OIL or the like, all this is does not fit. Currently the only thing the USA produces is weapons and that is why the current administration is pushing the middle East to make a BIG weapons purchase. The GNP isn't going to improve and the stimulus of the USA will be viewed as a failure by the public. rocmoc n AZ/Baja/TX
  24. Soon the WHOLE Deere will be made in China along with the Chery engine. Hasn't that been the trend? I agree the little engine is appears to be strong but sad Deere has moved there source off-shore. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  25. My front is still untouched from the factory. Rear is in neg camber from the twisting of the trailing arms and will not be fixed until new shocks. Future. Tow-in: - 1/8 to - 1/4 in. Camber: - 1 to 0 degree Castor: + 1/2 to + 1 degree dirt is very forgiving. for comparison this is what I ran on my roadrace car, Tow-in: 0 in Camber: -5 to - 5 1/2 degrees Castor: same Just remember to watch the angles on the CV joints in ALL conditions, extended & compressed. rocmoc n AZ/Baja/TX
