  1. If you all want, we can have a adventure / jamboree at my place. We can leave directly from the house, electric & water for at least 5 rigs, lots of room for tent or sleep in your pickup. We have enough great trails for 3 days of riding. Will heat the spa to soak the bumps & hurts out. Best time is Mid-Oct just after monsoon, not dust or mud, and everything is green. Temps are great and bugs are starting to calm down. Desert to High mountain trails. Gated, walled and very secure! Put it on the list for someday, just need to know in advance. 45 minutes south of Tucson on hwy 19. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  2. Don't forget about how big of a campsite I need. AND Flat. Campsite is important! Lots of room to turn around. Sorry I can't meet you guys but already getting ready to leave for Texas. rocmoc n AZ/Baja EDIT- Kinarfi -- 10-4 Good Buddy
  3. Try asking on a couple other site also, ridingarizona.com is one! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  4. So it sounds like you are saying you have a limited-slip rear end and with the old solid you would have a full-time locker rear end. They probably went to the limited slip to make your machine more drivable on hard surfaces. If the solid will install, go for it since $ are limited. Just stay of the hard stuff. Just my two-cents and is not worth more until someone agrees. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  5. All this could be done at Lenny's Tech Session, LOL! Then we can go ride at Sand Hallow for a test drive. Woks for me! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  6. WE only need one, yours! LOL! WE need to start having an annual Tech Session at your place. When do you want US ALL to show up. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  7. KoooooL, want to make that trip myself someday. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  8. dodgeman, what do you need? We are your other resource! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  9. South of Green Valley. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  10. Ouch! Like the Doctor says, if hurts stop doing it, LOL. At least you didn't loose anything. I had a 1/2" drill bind on me recently, hurt like he%% but didn't cut anything. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  11. Hello & welcome Bob, Bill at Audio 2000 on Speedway 1/2 a block East of Swan on the South side was the Dealer. Last time I stopped in he has no Joyners. If I had to guess he will not unless favorable support comes out of JMC and I don't think that is going to happen. I think it was becoming more trouble than it was worth to him. He was already a buggy guy with Toys so did not need Joyner. You will have to come south of Tucson for some riding in the Santa Ritas. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  12. Ah but it balances out my BAD carbon footprint! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  13. Yeah, have two of the grinders, an air metal cutting tool (not really a grinder) & a finish body grinder but I was too concerned about grinding a hole in the SOFT tubing by accident. Safer to cut it off with the Sawsall and then GRIND! Yeah Guards are gone and one does not even have the side handle. ALWAYS wear eye protection & gloves. All tho I am always in shorts and T-shirt even when welding. Too dang HOT! LOL! I got the welder at the surplus auction of the University I was attending in the 70's. Paid $25 and has served me well. Still works like a champ. Every time I look at a mig (which I would LOVE to have) I say to myself, I could pay someone else TO DO the welding for what a meg cost talking myself out of the purchase. I'm a pretty fair welder so very pleased with the outcome. The grinder does a little touch up and paint hides all sin. Finished the bottom mounting plate, will work on the tubes tomorrow. Maybe weld on Wed. Fitting it in between other projects. Have to hurry it up as our weather is entering the 80's phase making it "Hit the Trail Time". rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  14. I have ruled out the on cover option because I would not be able to haul stuff found on the trail back to camp. Expanded metal, of some sort, will be the option. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  15. Yeah, the Trooper really isn't too water resistant let alone waterproof. Go with a manual replacement. There is a post & pics on this site somewhere! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  16. Just a big kid playing in the mud puddles! Way to go!!!!!! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  17. Dang! Had a chance to work on the Trooper today. Cut off the BEST weld & metal on the entire machine. The hollow round stock used for the hinge on the rear of the engine cover. Started to grind the weld and realized quickly this is stronger and better than the tubing. Didn't want to take a chance of grinding thu the soft thin Chinese tubing so I switched to a Sawsall. It took a NEW blade on each weld to cut the things off, two blades. Dang the best welds & steel are gone, what's going to keep it together now. Also cut off the hydraulic cover supports and the locks on the roll bar for the engine cover. These things are for sale should someone need them, CHEAP! Rough cut the plate that will be the bottom mount for the rear down supports of the cage and rough cut the supports themselves. It is a pain to cut angles on my metal cutoff saw. Got it close and will grind the finish angles. Getting Closer! Also have fitted a Hold-On Grip handle for the passenger. Can only work on it about every third day as I have to stay ahead of the workman on my other project. Rebuilding our house, year 5! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  18. Here is a suggestion, http://www.taylorparktradingpost.com/ rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  19. Where are you finding mud? Dry as a bone here, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  20. Jegs and then Pegasus. Agree about the metal pin. I have a Pegasus switch & key in my Race Car. The action of the Pegasus switch is much smoother than the Trooper's switch. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  21. Thanks but I am passing because I am getting rid of my gas gauge entirely. Since my gas tank in the front, I am going the way of an old tractor. Moving the filler tube to the top of the tank. Will just open hood, open fill cap & look inside. rocmoc n AZ/Baja EDIT Kinarfi -- Sounds like the most fail safe method available, If we had resettable trip odometers, That would be a way to go, just so many miles in a tank of fuel.
  22. Hay Kinarfi, You may want to move the Switch Key source to the Parts & Equipment thread. Thanks, rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  23. David, It is the same. This is what you need, http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/10376/10002/-1?parentProductId=1231908 OR http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=1467 I am sure SummitRacing.com would also have it. Have order from all three and their service is EXCELLENT! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  24. David, check your other post! rocmoc n AZ/Baja
  25. I will pull the one out of my race car and try it to see if in the Trooper. If it does, it is a standard fit. If it will any speed / race site on line can supply you with and new switch. Maybe even just the key. Watch for another post within a couple hours. rocmoc n AZ/Baja
