  1. We get a few days of mud but other than that dry, dry, dry. Even when we have a monsoon it is dry by morning. May/June are the off months because by May we are without moisture and the dust ruins the ridding. The heat doesn't bother the locals, it is the dust. The rest of the year we get enough moisture to keep the dust down. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  2. Can we get off on 146/215 to 15 and come up from South of the airport? Also morning rush hour traffic, anything we should know? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  3. There is a shop in Phoenix area that has done a couple. I do know Randy in the Phoenix area put one on his and loved it. He posted info on the Riding Arizona site. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  4. Morning, hopefully before it is too hot. Hope you ALL leave enough room for me to pull thu or back in if ya get there before me. I am huge and need a little room to turn around or make a turn. Thanks rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  5. When are people leaving? Anyone staying Sunday night? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  6. Coool! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  7. Kinarfi, I have been at locations with them but do not have one myself. I do have a fan that holds water and acts like a mini-swamp cooler. Only works well in a small area. Easier to wet a cloth and put it in between the top of your head and a straw hat or a damp cloth on the neck. Works pretty well. OR, Someone could bring a kiddie pool and we could take turns, LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  8. We don't have any of that white stuff around us. Yes if you are looking at running in the snow, slipping would relieve driveline stress until you hit something with traction. Of course that is a problem everyone has to be aware of even in a dry environment. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  9. Just in case! Don't let the Weather/Temp forecast scare you away. We can ride Arizona Style. Ride early & late and eat, visit & hydrate in between. I am bringing an extra pop-up canopy to attach to my awning so there will be lots of shade. We can also run the gen and setup a couple of fans if there is not a breeze. We do it all the time and you will be surprised how comfortable you will be. Bring lots of water, soda and your favorite drink. Liquids will be important. Also a straw hat to cover your head when you are not in the shade will be VERY HELPFUL! We will have a BALL! We are going to get there earlier, Friday morning. Hopefully I will have everything setup before it hits triple digits. Of course coming from AZ, I am good to 102 degrees. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  10. That would help but I would still worry about breakage. Too much contact surface! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  11. Kinarfi, GREAT! Can't wait to see it in person. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  12. Trooper is IN the Toyhauler! Where is everyone? Any NASCAR fans? I will have my Sat. with me. I'm not missing any races unless there is a software update while I am traveling for the STB. I will setup a TV outside under the awning. We can have a tailgate party! Two actually, one for Nationwide Fri. nite & for the Cup race Sat. AND F1 Sunday morning! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  13. I will be bringing an extra set of Joyner rear tires & rims. Great condition! $125 for the two. I will also be bringing two 12" dia. ITP SandStars. NEW! $100 for the two. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  14. IMHO anything bigger than the 31's is inviting trouble. The possibility of breakage climbs geometrically as the tire's size & width increases. You definitely will find the weak spot in the drivetrain! Also 1st gear becomes worthless as a crawling/granny gear. It will be like driving your car off-road. Again IMHO! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  15. Trooper is READY! 2-3 more hours on the trailer and I will start loading. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  16. Thanks Mopartist. Sure looks good but I wanted quiet. I went with a Cherry Bomb Turbo. Doesn't look as good but it is quiet & less expensive. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  17. Installed a muffler today, seat covers & a small tarp under the the spare tire to keep the sun off the back of our necks. I found the noise and it is a squeaking Helm joint in the front suspension. I will take the Helm out tomorrow and see if I can get the noise to go away. If not, I try to get a replacement. Love how quiet the Trooper is now. Been really busy as I had to put new brakes and bearings in/on the trailer. Getting closer to being ready. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  18. Don't forget SunScreen with a high number for protection and Sunscreen you are willing to wear on your face. It WILL be required! Bottled Water & something over your cage to help keep the sun off. Just Zip tie an old blanket, tarp or anything on the rollbar after you get there. This will make your day more enjoyable. Long sleeved T-shirt can help even if it is hot. Plan for the sun. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  19. Ken, Sorry this is off the subject but I have to. Tell me about your muffler. How quiet? Brand? Did it come with the input sweeping 90 degree bend? I want to install a muffler this weekend. I want it to be quiet. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  20. Lenny, what is required to hook up the juice? Are all of the electronics integrated into the rack? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  21. I always thought that a higher quality rack would make all the diff in the world. Hopefully by this fall I will have the upgrade. Then the SHOCKS! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  22. We are leaving Thurs. and will arrive mid-afternoon Fri.
  23. Looks great! So are you going to start posting a options offering with prices? Your shocks are prettier than mine. Where/how do you find the time? I am barely gong to have time to be ready with what I have. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  24. Pretty sure 4" is the most you can have. My new rims are 8" but with 4" back & front spacing. The greater than 4" backspacing rim will mount on the hub but when you turn the tie rod is hit. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  25. Backspacing is 4" in the front and 6" in the rear. Front spacing is 2" both front and rear. The additional 2" of backspacing of the rear rims is the reason the rears can't be used in the front. The rear rims hit the tie rods. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico Did an edit on this rocmoc, you meant to say rears CAN'T be used on the front, Right? kinarfi
