  1. GREAT video! So Lenny, how much of the video have you done and are we going to do? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico/Texas
  2. Gumball, Thanks for the hot lead! LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico/Texas
  3. Lenny, We will be bring a Toyhauler. We need lots of room to turn around as we are 53' long. Is there somewhere where we can setup once as it is a lot of work to break camp every day? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  4. I went the BIG tire route first. Shocks will follow the power steering upgrade but I will be following most Flatbed's lead. I will be installing the 8 1/2" travel shock where as Flatbed installed the longer travel shock. I just noticed the Price in the first post. WOW! I am shocked at some of the after-market prices, tooooooo many dollars! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  5. We are available Mother's Day Weekend, May 8-10th. We are at the UTV Rally in Moab the following week & weekend. Then I have local Blacktop Oval Races the rest of the month. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico 1
  6. Lenny, Flatbed's Fox install required more mods than necessary because he was adding more travel and a couple of upgrades. Fox DOES make a shock that installs with nearly NO mods, the same shock that Flatbed used with less travel. I believe it is the 8 1/2 inch travel shock. Nearly the same extension and compression measurements. I believe the only mod required is Fox uses a different size bolt dia at the mounts. Limit Straps should be installed at the same time. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  7. I personally like a auto as much as a stick. In a lot of cases, if you have enough horsepower, an auto is better. I have an auto in my Diesel Ram and love it, much easier to drive. IMHO, an auto is much more forgiving and will over come some lack of off-roading experience. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  8. Lenny, I will look at the schedule and start talking to my better 3/4s. It WILL happen! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  9. Sounds great Lenny. I wondered if there was any riding near the Valley of Fire. I found the Campground some time ago on Google but nothing about being able to play off-road. Is this somewhere worth making a fairly long pull to for a stay n play? The area looks like a mini-Moab from the pics I have viewed online. We will have to pursue the clutch & power steering. Big benefit to us big wheel people. How did the shocks do? Now that you have both the shocks & wheels/tires, what would be your upgrade be after having the big tires & wheels (Shocks or Power Steering)? The budget & time are limited! Pics, PIcs, PICs and more PICS of that trail! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  10. I agree the 10.5 are the max I would go. Flotation isn't a problem ANYMORE! I share the same concern that sooner or later too much traction is going to start tearing things apart. I adjusted my A-arms forward a little and used a LARGE hammer to get the required clearance. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  11. Jack up the rear of your machine as high as you can. This will place your radiator at the highest point. Do what the others have suggested, may help! I had to do this with one of my past race cars to get all the air out. I would still let the dealer know about your problem. You could also call Joyner in AZ. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  12. Koool! It is always good when great minds agree! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  13. How HOT? What do you mean you can hear it? Bubbles moving in the coolant or air exiting thu the head gasket? Have you taken/check with your dealer? Is your coolant level dropping requiring to be topped off? Any moisture coming from the exhaust? Did you get the engine really hot? This is the same engine as in the Trooper and this is not normal, IMHO. No other persons have report this problem. If you haven't taken it back to your dealer, do so quickly. I would guess a blown head gasket. Run a compression test & a pressure test on the cooling system! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  14. Glad to hear you are good to go! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  15. I'm changing my name to protect the innocent, LOL! I can't wait to hear your first ride/trip report. Good luck and remember to check the clearnce between the front tire & firewall when turning. newbieguy aka rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  16. IMHO a better quality rack would help! I plan to upgrade mine ASAP when I have the time. Figure that statement out! Hint: Some one else keeps adding things to my to-do-list. I am not saying who she is for fear of losing the keys to my Toys! LOL! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  17. Rain-X is suppose to help. Sorry, I just clean it for a day on the trails and LEAD when possible. Carry some cleaner with you and clean it during the day. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  18. Thanks for keeping us in the loop! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  19. Koool! We enjoy pics. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  20. Sounds like a weak connection or bad solenoid. I would again check connections for corrosion before I try replacing the solenoid. Sounds like the snow maybe giving you trouble in the area of corrosion. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  21. Funny how different people are. I use it even on the street but not the shoulder belts. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  22. Kinarfi, Why no submarine strap? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  23. Look at each wire in both halves' of the connector. The wires back out of the plastic connector so they do not make contact with the mate when the two pieces of the plug are pushed together. Push each wire into both male and female connectors before you push the connector together. Maybe? rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  24. gut, Here my info for the replacement lugs I installed and purchased from Discount Tires. The lugs come with the required socket. http://www.utvboard.com/Tires-Wheels-t517.html rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
  25. I also use a hydraulic Bottle Jack & a block of wood. Jack point is anywhere. Main concern is the jack popping/slipping out since most surfaces are round. The block of wood allows for the spreading/distribution of the weight when lifting on the tubes & skid plates. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
