  1. I think I'm going to go for the roof rack, since I have very little rain here, and I like to take long hauls if possible. I want to do a coast to coast run in Mexico next fall with some friends. We would start in San Felipe, and go over to Ensenada and back. Would use a lot of the roads used by the BAJA races, and the extra space will be necessary to carry extra tires, gas, camping gear and such. With the roof rack it looks like just 6 bolts or so connect it for the t4, so should be easy enough to take on and off, since I have only 3 inch cleareance coming into my garage at this time.
  2. Kinarfi, Let me try to get this straight what you are offering? 2used back tires, and 2 back rims 14*8. I understand about the wear and tear on the one rim.
  3. As we get closer, if some of us are travelling at the same time maybe we can car pool down.
  4. Well hopefully it is that simple.
  5. I'm interested in this. How can I pay you for it though? Since I'm eating my tires lately, I would be great to get this. PM to come. Thanks for the tip on dailing, I printed it out and stuck next to the old rotary phone. LOL
  6. I would definetely like to go, it will be 4 years since I have gone. I agree just camp together and it is a big help. Last time we took 4 trucks and quads and stayed for 3 days no problems. I will be camping under the stars, last time I slept in the bed of truck it was great. I guess this time it will be in a tent. I can also bring a small generator, and lights for night time.
  7. It is good to continually hear that Joyner is taking care of the people.
  8. Snow, haven't seen much of that expect when I go to Mammoth to ski, otherwise almost 20+ years when I lived in Michigan. A sled wow, haven't been one since 84, think it was something like a 400 Ski Doo don't really remember. The was a crazy ride, the sled ended up in the bottom of the pond, and we pulled it out the next year with a Tractor.
  9. Is anyone going to the BAJA 1000 in a couple of weeks. I will be out there watching since the team is not running. I love it when a race comes through my backyard.
  10. Great just don't wait to long into Spring as we know spring is sometimes 100+
  11. I second that, this is a great place to share, teach, and learn (my favorite part)
  12. Well I've tried for 3 days to order the rim on line, but I get an error message after choosing shipping instruction. Maybe because I'm in Mexico. I guess I have to do it the old fashion way and use a phone. Anyone have instruction on how to use the phone. LOL
  13. I opted out, and didn't think it was worth it. I guess I feel if you ride it hard it is going to break part of playing in the desert or wherever you ride.
  14. Great to see another Trooper person here. I will be looking for all the advice you give, I hope for 2009 to be a good year of upgrades for my T4
  15. Here is an example of what I'm talking about at Race Desert RDC http://www.race-dezert.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52151 On this page you can click on View First Unread, and it will jump you to the point of the last page you were on previously, it is helpful with multiple pages. Example I had previously read the first 6 pages, and today when I entered this forum I clicked on this link and it took me to the first new post of that thread age 1 of 11 1 2 3 4 5 > Last » View First Unread
  16. I guess I should be prepared for next year when I'm back in California it is going to be ugly.
  17. That would be nice, some suspension it is the first major thing I want to do, since I am always out in the desert run pit support and it would so much to move a little faster without bruising (sp) my kidneys.
  18. Insurance, hmmmm what's that.....Guess as I relocate back to the US next year it is something I should think about.
  19. I would like to order a new rim front, I can't remember in here who has them. The stock rim will be fine for now.
  20. What about using a 28*9*14 for the front and still the Stock on back. I'm ordering the stock rim today for the front. Normally I run 1" taller in the front on my quad.
  21. Is there a cost yet?
  22. Agreed, I remember the days on the farm with 600+ acres, I wish we would have had something like this back then instead of Firing up the old John Deere A or B model which was another story. Glad to see you are happy. What I find is that most people are happy with their choices because it fits what they want, not what someone else wants.
  23. Could in be possible to create a link to go to the last post you read in a forum, this is helpful once the forum gets into multiple pages, otherwise you are scanning (re-reading) trying to figure out where you left off.
  24. Ok, I put up some of my first photos in Trooperfolk under my name. Just some simple shots from a couple months ago. Hopefully we can get a great collection of items that helps everyone. Kinarfi, Thanks for setting this up, a great idea.
  25. Hi Everyone, Need some help, Thursday we were going up a very slight incline on a forest rode and the T4 just stopped. It backfires when you try and get it to run, luckily we were able to coast back down the mountain because we had Lance with us and no cell service. Called Joyner and they were great about trying to trouble shoot it on the phone, luckily cell service at the bottom of the hill. They thought it might be the computer and had us pull it and take it to Cedar City to get it tested, it wasn't the computer. Fuses were all good. George ran all the connections, checked the battery. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Of course we're here in the car instead of the truck so we'll have to come back and haul the T4 to Cedar if we can't figure it out. Called our friend and he came and rescued us. God Bless Good Friends. Cinda Repair Thanks to the help from an highly experienced bike mechanic and his sons staying in the RV Park right behind us they were able to diagnose the problem. WARNING TO EVERYONE CHECK YOUR MACHINES trace the wire from the exhaust sensor back to its harness, its really well hidden under the intake manifold, ours had rubbed across the positive terminal of the starter, causing arcing and welded the four wires together for the O2 harness. Once that was cut and spliced together we're on the road again. We're calling Casey at Joyner on Monday to warn them of the problem and to get a new wiring harness ordered. Thanks for all your help we really appreciated it. Cinda, Thanks for that tip, it is a little dark outside, so maybe on Saturday I can take a look.
