  1. Around here, most people use Slime for the occasional mesquite thorn. I use it in the mower tires, but it certainly has its limits. Don't know if they'd be tough enough for the swamp. But it looks like tires-n-such has taken over the Essex line of kevlar belted, run flat sidewall mud tread 6 ply tires. They're not cheap though. But they're made to hold up a heavy UTV, even when flat. After that, it's probably going to be the expensive, solid tires.
  2. That sounds like it should be a warranty Issue. If that's not working out, then you'll need to look to see if you can access the back of the dashboard. From there, you should be able to see how to remove the speedometer cluster assembly. Even if the assembly is permanently sealed shut, it can still be opened, if you're careful.
  3. Yeah, I suppose that an adapter works just fine. But I prefer a straight up one size fits all, with nothing extra to keep up with, and less stuff to rattle. Mine came with a heavy duty 1 1/4 receiver. While it is well designed, it doesn't seem to be well thought out. Because it seems that mostly sailboats and recreational stuff like that are the only thing that uses that size. The designers just looked at the weight specs vs. the machine's capabilities. And just that little difference between the 2" and the 1 1/4, in things that use the receiver, used to be an ever present annoyance. Over the years, as I've adapted each item, or otherwise fabricated a workaround. I've often wished that I'd changed that over to 2".
  4. Why not just cut whatever is there, to make a mounting point, to weld a reciever to it. They sell those reciever sized square pipes, that're made just for stuff like this.
  5. If it's only three years old, then it does sound like it's too early for a major failure of the rack. Maybe once you get it out, you can tell more about what happened, or why. Possibly find a way to prevent the new rack from suffering the same fate.
  6. Welcome to the forum! And I'm not seeing a picture. If all else fails, then you could probably have something fabricated.
  7. Welcome to the forum! Tough crowd here lol. But everyone here has a point, about it being a warranty issue, and it really should be handled by the dealership. Otherwise you'll be looking for a code reader for the diagnosis of the issue. Probably a throttle position sensor, or something similar. But with any of the Chinese UTVs, it could easily be the CPU gone bad, even though it's new. So you need to get it into the dealership service shop pronto.
  8. You might have missed a wire connection or something similar. It's not that uncommon to break other stuff while you're working on something. It happens, and you shouldn't worry about it. Just move on, and focus on finding the problem. You need to go over all the wiring that might have been disturbed, or disconnected, while fixing the last issue. It cranks, but have you looked to see if it's got spark? If not, then check the coil
  9. Are you saying that it will still run,& drive, after the first time it stalled. But now has a check engine light showing?
  10. I think the diesel Travis mentioned would be an excellent choice. I have a diesel mule, and it's been a perfect fit for the tasks around here. But if I had to buy one again, I'd look real hard at the kubota.
  11. I really like the look of the kubota line also. There's several models, but the op suggested a 4 seater. The 4 seat model looks like its a convertible to switch between a 2 seat, or 4. And it has a diesel engine available. That's definitely worth looking into.
  12. Glad to hear it's back in service.
  13. Any luck figuring out the timing? Seems like there should be another mark on the flywheel or the crankshaft. Something to make certain that it's at top dead center.
  14. Glad to hear that it's a warranty fix. Hope it all works out, and please let us know how it works out.
  15. Check the crankcase ventilation. It's often overlooked, and it wasn't mentioned. Not that I believe that's the problem. But it is critical, and could easily explain the issue. And will eventually have to be ruled out as the problem anyway. Give it a chance to be easy lol.
  16. There should be a manual library stickied somewhere here in this forum. Probably has all that information. Possibly member @strike250 could shine some light on this?
  17. Any time I get the chance to recommend a golf cart, I always do. It's the best way to get around on roads, or reasonably level trails. On the plus side though, just remember that the $7 grand will buy a top quality, name brand, lightly used golf cart. The same money spent on a UTV, wouldn't buy the same quality, or it would be an older model, with parts, or maintenance issues. Besides, golf carts have lots of aftermarket support, and I think that you could probably find it cheaper, if you're patient. My vote is for a golf cart 100%.
  18. When you say the fill reservoir is full. Does that mean that it's full to the mark, or to the top? Because if its filled to the top, then that's a classic symptom of a bad head gasket.
  19. Welcome to the forum! As to your mule being a suitable ride for the mile drive. I certainly hope that you have a cab, with a heater? Otherwise, a single mishap along the way, might become a problem.
  20. The website still shows a full catalog of kits available.
  21. I really like the cabs that are made by Essex manufacturing. They're not pretty, but it's all modular steel panels, and real glass, for the windows. Essex makes good quality, heavy duty stuff, mostly for the military.
  22. Does it have a check engine light on the instrument panel, that's lit? Any trouble codes at all?
  23. I had a jeep with a soft top, only used it a couple months a year. So I know what you mean. You definitely want doors with a door hinge, instead of a flap. Then there's a proper door latch of some sort. The expensive one will fit better too! Less icy breezes blowing up from somewhere. To me, it would be worth the extra money, rather than the aggravation of making due with sub standard items, when they are that important. Having a proper enclosure, up there in the Great White North, would be high on my priority list. I agree that it's definitely expensive, but I'd still do it. It would be unpleasant for sure, but it would be buy once cry once. I'm hoping that you'll find an acceptable middle of the road option.
  24. It's probably good that you decided to send it back. Those zipper doors look to me, like they'd have a never ending potential for trouble. Not to mention that it'd be a pain, always having to take the time to zip open, then zip closed. Do they not make one with door frames?
  25. Look at the tinytach, tinyscan 301.
