  1. Mine is a 2012 and the fan never runs until it gets to a certain temp. I have a manual switch if I want it to run as cool as the thermostat temp.
  2. I put a manual override switch so you can turn it on whenever I want. The sensor will still turn the fan on if you forget too. The thermostat temp is 185 and the fan turns on at 205 like most vehicles.
  3. Also fuel pickup in the tank doesn't go to the bottom of the tank. Check pickup tube.
  4. I had that happen once. The fuel rubber fuel line was pinching off because of the loop in the fuel line was to small and restricting fuel flow.
  5. Just a couple of pics. The turbo header I had to modify slightly because the turbo would have to be mounted backwards from clearance issues. Just a slight cut and weld to angle the turbo down and all is good. The other pic is my custom oil pan. 7 L capacity. Thought the engine oil was running too hot, but turned out to be oil gauge problem when hot. Factory gauge and sender is crap. I prefer this driveline setup compared to a belt drive any day, but to each his own. I would like to see an actual auto trans with a hi low range would be the ultimate. I have a 75 blazer 4x4 automatic great for the mud.
  6. I have found the best thing I bought for my trooper was a air fuel ratio gauge along with the fuel controller silver bullet sells. You can then set it exactly where it needs to be. By the way I have a turbo setup on my trooper. 6 lbs. boost no intercooler. Best money I ever spent on this. I got my kit from http://www.klung-motor.com/Accessories.asp?smallclass=Turbo kit and ECU&bigclass=Accessories&page=2. I didn't use the ecu that came with the kit. Too complicated for me. The increase in torque was amazing. I have 30 inch mud lites, no shortage of power to turn them in the mud. I try to post pics. Haven't figured that one out yet.
  7. No overheating, but did add a turbo and any performance engine I have built benefits from a cooler running thermostat, less chance of detonation. Just thought I would ask before I remove the old one to cross it with one that will fit.
  8. Hi, has anyone replaced the thermostat in a t2 with a colder one?
  9. We had the trooper out last weekend with the 30 in. zillas on some extreme trails, rocks, creek beds, mud, and some hill climbing, performed flawlessly and no clutch issues.Needed the extra height of the 30's in some areas. Surpassed other peoples expectations.
  10. This was our first snowfall last season, 50 cm about 20 inches end of october. Not usual that early that much. Record snowfall for us this year. Over 6 ft for the season. Never seen 15 ft snow drifts on the bald prairie. The old timers talk of this in the 40's and 50's. Our closest city Regina (yeah rymes with fun) 160,000 people, they still have remnants of snow removal from last year still melting. Biggest snow removal pile I've ever seen. Have other vids on my youtube channel. Motorbuilder22.
  11. This is my winter toy.
  12. I have already ask about clutch options, but I've been looking at the clutch image on the silverbullet site and it has a striking resemblance to a early 90's geo sprint clutch(non-turbo). If someone has the specs like disc diameter and spline count it would be helpful to confirm my suspicions. I run a repair shop and have seen these before. If they are the same it opens up alot of different clutch options and cheaper too. Thanks.
  13. I ran the trooper this weekend with the zillas. No issues either, but didn't run in the mud yet. With the taller tires I liked the lower rpm at the same speed than with the originals. Didn't mind the ride at low speeds,I have a S-10 blazer with tracks for the winter.
  14. Thanks for the input. Mine is still stock for now. Just put 30 in. zillas on. We'll see how those work this weekend.Trying to find the limits of the machine to know what to expect on the trail and to decide on future upgrades. Also ordered the viper fuel controller from silverbullet and have heard good reviews. Time will tell. Do you have a turbo or a supercharger set-up on yours? From who?
  15. Hi, I recently bought a 2012 trooper and am looking for a clutch upgrade. I know some offer a kevlar disc with a double diaphram plate. Has anyone used a 4 puck metallic clutch disc on these? I have a 4 puck in one of my cars and it works great. Just looking for some opinions. Thanks.
  16. Measure across the bolt circle. Opposite not beside. hope that helps.
