  1. we have a scan tool that will access the chery computer ,on the older troopers it requires "backpinning" into the harness, newer troopers have an obd II plug tucked in behind the seat...alltho we can read most parameters,to my knowledge there is nothing we can change...read only and erase..as for "tuning",we install a tempory wide band air fuel gauge and o2 sensor, and sometimes tie in to the factory narrow band to adjust fuel controller after making any other mods to intake, snokel, exaust etc...we have installed air restriction guage into intake tubes, snorkels etc to give an idea how much flow/restriction been added or taken away, but only real "tuning"once intake exaust etc are designed and installed on a non turbo stock engine trooper we would usually do is fuel pressure and fuel controller...just my 3 cents...Hardy
  2. hello Kinarfi...not sure who you where asking...(me ? ) and for what part number?...Hardy
  3. looks good...looking forward to how you are building the top and front sections...Hardy
  4. with our turbo system... garret turbo, our intake flip/mod,no intercooler, short charge tube, quiet exaust (or loud) large dual stage air filter and fuel controller,we ve been having excellant results in the 6 to 8 psi boost range on premium pump gas ...(have also run 10-12 psi with better fuel) ...tuning with our wideband air fuel,we have been able to keep a rich condition while under full throttle, and full boost
  5. also curious as to what happened...steering rack updates with a new upper plate or changing out to the most current steering box is what I have seen....we have been putting power steering into the newer/updated boxes without trouble...that box does look kinda cool tho....Hardy
  6. agreed with Lenny and Charlie...we dont usually remove engine to do transmission/clutch etc service...sliding the engine back a little is normally enough, altho some of the turbo systems make it a tight fit...Hardy
  7. Clankford...some nice looking work...we also like the fact the trooper is not a "cookie cutter" machine...what have you done for turbo?
  8. this may not sound too technical...but have you confirmed that your fuel pump is running? second what year is your trooper?.they do have slightly different start up actions ....the older ones had a fuel pressure gauge at the left rear of the engine...that should show somewhere between 45-60 psi when the pump runs in pre start up mode (the new troopers use a different style regulator and no gauge) poor fuel..yup have run into that, but as far as setiment plugging thing up,hopefully your fuel filter would catch all/most of that...but plugged filters happen...finally when you say "wont start"..exactly what happens...you turn the key to the first position, wait for pump and fan (possibly) to run and the gauges to sweep...(you should then have fuel pressure at the gauge) when that is complete you turn to start position...cranks well but wont fire up?? try the same sequence with your foot slightly on the gas pedal...try again... I know this sounds simple, but sometimes its the simple things that keep one from starting ...just my 3 cents...Hardy
  9. utvinwv...are you running a stock hood over your front mount rad/cooler? any cut outs etc...thanks...Hardy
  10. had them running on a 2011 trooper with 26" teracross tires (that machines gone to someone else now) In the process of putting another set on a 2014 with 28" itp blackwater evolution tires...been very happy so far...offset has not been a problem....narrows the rear stager on the newer machines to make them track similiar to the older ones...just my 3 cents...Hardy what size tire were you planning?
  11. m8 x 1.0x 1"...seems weird to mix metric and standard measures...I think stock were 3/4"...1" stick thru a little but dont interfere
  12. looks like you may have got lucky...I can measure what we put in, in the AM...I know they can be longer than original and not interfere...we replace with a higher grade bolt larger head size and loctite, normally re-shim at the same time
  13. 2wd ? 4wd? what did the guy say they where /whats on the bill of sale? 10th digit will be your year...the rest of the vin doesnt help alot ...maybe post a pic or two of the machines...my buggies have a vin tag in front of the center console,my trooper has as Charlie said, tag passenger side footwell...seen some with stamped into rear frame above hitch..others hidden elsewhere....post a few pics and what you think/were told you were buying and might be able to help you more...Hardy
  14. agreed with 2scoops...some "sparkely oil" is normal... chunks=BADD...once a year/season is better than most get around to but I think is a good schedule,if you do deep water or mud often...then change more often...just my 3 cents...Hardy
  15. hey plumber...mine unfortunately is still not a turbo...however the turbo one I tested was built by Mudslinger Motorsports in Alberta Canada ...I have the power steering...shocks next...then maybe turbo ...sure works awsume...Hardy
  16. test drove a 2009 t2 that has recently had turbo and electric assist power steering installed...WOW...I started with Joyner toys in 2010 by buying a 250 sand viper..modded it up,liked it soo much bought another 1 and did the same to it (still have both) fast forward bought a 2008 t2 have done a few minor upgrades,I like my trooper...but that turbo is really awsume....Hardy
  17. thank you...somehow missed that section while searching...lots of great information there...thanks again...Hardy
  18. thanks 2scoops...been looking around on this site for 7-8 months now have searched/read a number of post on shocks......havent found anyone that posted weights?..maybe I missed it...looking into probably single rate coilover shocks,or possibly air, have been out in a t2 with Kings...they are awsume...but was looking for a less costly option here in Canada
  19. just doing some research on different shock options...I have read the other topics relating to shocks...has anyone actually recorded the wieghts, travel etc for the stock t2? how about a renegade r2 ? thanks Hardy
  20. hey Stanny did you get your 1100 r2 yet? curious what else has changed from your old r2 other than the motor...ie any steering updates, different cooling(rad) etc...thanks Hardy
