  1. Hisun motors is also the manufacture of many parts for Yamaha and other big name brand UTV and ATV manufactures. Keep in mind that Polaris RZR170 is also a chinese built UTV. If you've driving any other large brand name ATV or UTV, you have most likely had a vehicle with Hisun parts in the engine or elsewhere. They just started to make their own footprint in the billion dollar UTV market. They have been around now for over 5 years and with sales increasing more and more every year, the dealer base growing slowly but surly, they will be around for a while yet. Hisun and Bennche and Massimo and Coleman and so forth are going through internal growing pains. They all want to be the top dog, and word is that Bennche and Massimo are going to split away from Hisun soon. So their models might change. The reason you see the Hisun brand looking so much like Yamaha and Polaris is due to the fact that they actually manufacture the OEM parts for them at Hisun in China. Thats why they are called Yamaha clones at times, or Polaris knock offs. Currently Hisun makes all the brands for themselves, Bennche, Massimo, Coleman and more all just re-brand the Hisun product. Kinda of like Chevy and GMC, just a couple of different things but the same vehicle and different name. Sometimes the two companies fight internally against each other. Most of the parts in these UTV's are crossed referenced with Yamaha or another big name brand.
  2. check to make sure the exhaust is not plugged up.
  3. check with motorcycle doctor, better pricing and keeps lots in stock.
  4. For what you are doing it should be just fine. Remember the manufacture is the same one who makes parts for Yamaha and Polaris, its just the nuts and bolts that are not the best. The engines are pretty much bullet proof. The things that go bad are things like weak clutch when pulling heavy loads, bad coil every once and a while. Other than that, you should really be fine with messing around and driving it on country roads and home farm use.
  5. It sounds like the muffler might be plugged up, I would see if you can take out the packing and check it. There is no reason that muffler should get that hot, unless its preventing the exhaust flow from getting out, creating back pressure.
  6. dumb question, but did you check to see if the seat belt is connected, they started installing ECU safety lock out and it puts the vehicle in limp mode until the seat belt is connected . Please check this first
  7. To check out the fuel pump, it should prime for about 3 seconds after start up, you should hear it. I would check for a pinched fuel tank vent hose, as this could cause a huge pressure lock inside the tank. Next I would suspect it might be electrical in nature. I doubt any fuel injector problem as that is pretty rare. Some of the things that cause this issue would be a faulty coil, or bad pick up coil sensor. It takes fuel, spark and compression to fire an engine. Normally a stalling issue or no start, to me it sounds like electrical, but check the fuel pump first. You can open up the fuel cap and when you put the UTV ignition switch on and not start, you should hear the fuel pump whine for a few seconds then shut off. If you dont hear the wine, I would think the pump is bad. If you hear the wine everytime, then chase the electrical system.
  8. Keep inind when you change your wheels to larger/taller ones, you effectively change the gear ratio. It might be quicker, but you'll loose top end. Also it takes more torque to turn larger tires, and these little ones don't have very much torque to begin with. The factory HP ratings are only around 10-12 HP from the factory.
  9. Hello, I would send in your ECU to me, let me flash it and also if your rear sprocket is a stock 42 tooth, I would go to 38-36 rear sprocket. The lower the rear tooth count will provide you with the higher top speed, the lower rear tooth count will give you quicker off the line.
  10. Hello Brad, Yes, the Strike 250 stock is a little underpowered. Do you happen to have one of the newer models? The reason I ask is because on my website we are able to unlock your ECU with the factory software, this allows you an additional 2000 RPM! As well as a higher top end speed. This will help you with the sand dunes as well. As for the wheel specs, they are 4 x 156 on the front, and 4 x 115 on the rear. Check any Yamaha banshee or raptor site for wheels, as either will fit just fine. Check out www.warriorsoffroad.com for a bunch of additional info for your Strike 250 Matt
  11. for those of you who havent been to our site yet, here is a look at our performance exhaust system. Made in house, certified for spark arrester, and db rated at below 94db. Legal for any race track, trail or off road park. Great sound without sounding like an open pipe as with some others out there. True bolt on kit.
  12. We now have rear sprocket guards that are split design, easy to install and protect that chain and rear sprocket from rocks and hard hits. Check out the site to see more.
  13. Hey there folks, we are now stocking longer and stronger wheel studs for the 2500cc line up, including models from Coleman, HiSUN, Benchee, Massimo and others that share the same parts. The fronts are pretty easy to change out as the hubs are aluminum, but the rears are a little harder since they are made from steel. Really helps with different rims, racing, or striped out poor quality OEM versioins. These are rated at 10.9
  14. You could also apply some grease or lube to the post to assist it from sticking
  15. No problem, call me if you have any problems. Here's a pic of what you might come across. The fuel tank will have two connectors, one is for the fuel pump and the other is for the fuel tank sending unit. You will know when you test it which one it is. But by lifting on the plastic float, you will see the Ohm meter rise and fall. Or it might just be stuck or sticking on something? Moving it by hand might fix it. who knows..................
  16. Here is a great video showing how to test any fuel tank sending unit. Pretty simple, don't worry about the color of the wires in the video, but the process is the same.
  17. The fuel tank sending unit is not to hard to locate. it should be under the seat area. There should be a connector that takes the signal from the sending unit to the gauge. Check to make sure the connector is properly connected first. Then you can measure the resistance from the connector. It would be helpful to have the fuel tank sending unit out of the fuel tank. It is part of the fuel pump assembly. Remove the plastic ring securing it in the fuel tank. Pull it up and out easy, Now you can slowly push up on the fuel tank sending unit and watch the gauge to make sure it responds correctly. If not, then measure the resistance in the wiring. If it does not meet the OEM specifications, then the sending unit is faulty. If it is good, then you will need to check the connections to the gauge. If everything is good at this point, and you are getting the correct signal all the way to the gauge, then the gauge is faulty.
  18. I have a question about your HS400. when you are driving it, do you have the seat belt connected? Just wondering because it can effect the speed limit. I would go to the back of the seat belt connection located when you lift the bed up, you will see the light grey connector. Unplug the electronic connector for the seat belt and try it again. See what happens.
  19. Hello to all, and thank you for your business with us at 250UTV.com We have just changed our name to WARRIORS OFF ROAD as a result of increased business from the entire line up of HiSUN UTV's for parts and accessories. So now you can get us at www.warriorsoffroad.com Thank you to all who have made us great.
  20. I wanted to spill the beans sort of with some exciting news! Next year there is a national event that will be televised that will have youth UTV racing with only HiSUN Strike 250's. I am working with HiSUN and another group to get this off the ground. We are working out the details now, but it should be exciting to watch HiSUN Strike 250's tear up the track, racing along side other HiSUN 250's. I can't say much more now, but when allowed, I will tell you folks more about it in the coming months. I was lucky enough to be chosen as the supplier of race parts for this event. They will also be using the new HiSUN Strike 550 and the Strike 1000. So three classes next year should be a great year.
  21. I have a lot of contacts at HiSUN, and we work together to help everyone out there with questions. Remember, I am not employed by HiSUN, but rather a person that started out just like you, buying one of these units and looking for help. If I don't have the answer, I will get it.
  22. This is something I do for the folks out here on the westcoast that race these units. They want all the speed they can get. I do change out the transmission gears as well as rear sprockets, ECU tuning, and of course our exhaust system.
  23. I can get the 2015 ECU, but its pretty easy to just send me yours and I will re-flash it for you. I normally charge up to $100 for this, as a new ECU is about $344.00. You would only need to purchase a new ECU if you wanted a stock one and a modified one to exchange. I will do it for $80.00 for any customers from this site.
  24. I have a guy I use that is an authorized HiSUN parts supplier. You can get him at: [email protected] Let him know you hear of him from 250UTV.com and he will take care of you. He also does a great price for my customers.
  25. On our 2015 unit we use for R&D, I think we have had the RPM close to 8750. But I am not sure how reliable the gauge is in the dash. We are doing some dyno testing currently. I will check the dyno for a good readout. I am not sure about going to a 38 in the rear with the newer internal gearing, but with our ECU flash and a 40 rear tooth, it should help a lot. We are now selling rear sprockets that are split. This allows you to change the rear sprockets in the rear without removing the entire axle assembly. The new split sprockets will be up on the site by monday. But we do offer a new re-flash on the ECU. Just send in yours and we will re-flash it, or unlock it as it is sometimes called. Keep in mind, with many rear sprocket changes, you might end up having to remove a link in the chain if you go to small in the rear due to the limits of the chain adjuster slot. We are also offering updated chain adjusters, easier to adjust than the OEM version.
