  1. I would remove the shift linkage, and put in gear by hand/manually, if possible, and drive it... if it still jumps out of gear, i would suspect a trans issue. If not, most likely the shift linkage needs adjusted to compensate for wear, as it's not fully engaging F or R
  2. Do you know the model of the honda engine? But before blaming the carburetor, i would remove the spark plug and look at the electrode end, if it's really dark/black. that would verify the carburetor is running too rich.
  3. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!!
  4. i remember a thread on here awhile back where someone else was having that issue.. i can't remember the solution though, i will have to search for it. i also think alot of heat now comes from engines running leaner to meet environmental regulations, and lean engines run hotter.
  5. Have you personally tested for water in the fuel? to be sure the shop isn't BS'ing with you? all you need is a clear container, siphon some fuel out of the tank into the container and let it sit about 10 minutes.... you will see a line form (phase seperation) in the gasoline, on top will be gas and on bottom will be water (and ethanol if you use E fuel)
  6. just from the problems with HiSun on this forum only, i'd stay away from Anything HiSun.... CF moto, (massimo now made by*Linahi* so they may be better) and Benneche are all made by hisun if i remember right. Go with the Honda, you'll be glad you did, if their 500 is anything like their other products,.
  7. Engine's need Spark (at the right time),Fuel and compression to start..... so i'd start by spraying starting fluid or flammable brake parts cleaner straight into the carburetor (or remove the spark plug and give it a burst or two in the plug hole) and try to start it. if it runs and dies, you have a fuel delivery issue. if it doesn't fire on starting fluid, i'd suspect no spark, and then check for spark, first at the end of the end of the spark plug by grounding the electrode to the engine block/metal. if no spark that way, get a screwdriver and stick into the plug wire and touch the screwdriver to metal on the engine, and see if you get a spark jumping around,
  8. any luck?

  10. remove the air filter and air duct work, down to the carb, give it a few shots of starting fluid strait into the carburetor.(gasoline, or flammable brake parts cleaner will work) If it runs then dies, you have a fuel delivery issue. If it does not fire at all, you most likely have a spark or ignition timing issue.
  11. First thing i would try is lubing the ends of both cables with WD40, it will creep down the cable eventually. i would also try disconnecting the cable(s) from what they hook too and move the choke and throttle by hand, and see if if they move easy or not.
  12. Need a little back ground info, did the buggy sit for awhile and did you get it running, or have you had it since brand new?
  13. Great manual, will come in handy to help a relative who just a bought a 610 with some minor issues.
  14. Might check PowerSports Nation... located in Georgia.
  15. Brand new ones are $319 with no fuel cap or gauge.
  16. Take a look here at what Mike has, https://pacificeaglepowersports.com/shop-by-vehicle/hisun/ I think he still offers the 5% discount for UTV board members as well. i'm not sure.
  17. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! I'm still full......and still eating....
  18. I do not know much about HiSun other than i see they need worked on alot, here's a factory service manual from our Downloads library
  19. Mule's are still $7,000....
  20. Looking for a good/decent fuel tank for a 05 Mule 610. A family member just bought one and the Previous owner said the tank was rusted out and chunked it, so it just has a little 1 gallon tank on it for now. I see some on ebay for $150.... if anyone can beat $150 shipped ,let me know. --- Travis
  21. Welcome aboard!!!!
  22. dang! that sucks! I've always heard good things about Sedona tires.... i hope they end up making it right for you.
  23. Those engines use a decompressor on the camshaft to make starting easier, so compression readings at cranking speeds will always be low. I've found on most 4 cycle engines between 5 and 20 HP, 90 PSI is good, 60-80 PSI has some mileage but still usuable, 50 and below, time to look at a possible causes of lost compression.
  24. Yeah i've been doing some reading on them apparently the biggest difference was the color schemes, Kawasaki only sold them in Green and Red, and suzuki sold them in yellow hoods and black beds, and different color combinations. I think they called it a Q.U.V
