  1. I've seen some USPS packages take strange routes!!! I ordered a part from Pennsylvania one time, it went from Pennsylvania, to Ohio, Wyoming, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma.... Finally 4 days after the 3 day guarantee arrival time, it made it to Dallas... Then to Austin... Then from Austin to Houston then finally to Conroe.....
  2. I haven't read much on the diesel mule, But I did read the Pro DX EPS diesel Has a greater towing capacity of 1 ton. So that's already more than the Kubota. And 4 wheel drive also.
  3. I would look into a Kubota diesel utv, they seem to have a more Robust frame than most other brands and of course a diesel you get more torque and most can haul upwards of 1400 pounds, and 4 wheel drive.
  4. My method for removing tight drain plugs is get a box end wrench, correct size, and a hammer. Put the wrench on the plug head, and hit the other end of the wrench with the hammer, it's basically like a Poor mans impact wrench. Be sure you are turning counter clockwise.
  5. Welcome to The UTV Board! Good looking rig you've got there!
  6. Happy Memorial day everyone. While we grill our burgers and hot dogs on the grill, let us not forget the many men and women who died to give us our freedoms. God bless the families of service members who have died in service to their beloved country.
  7. I just do it by ear, but I just ordered a Tiny Tach off eBay to do it Right.
  8. I noticed that after I put the new gates on, the pulley was spinning, but there wasn't as much pressure on it, my Mule has been cantankerous with the diff lock forever, in my owner's manual it said the mule may have to roll a few feet before it engages. I've had that rear axle out with that diff engage assembly, the two gears that mesh to provide posi trac, the teeth on them are rather large so it has to be lined up perfectly, Idle speed should be at or close to 1350 rpm.
  9. Actually on mine, the driven converter has always spun at idle, even several years ago with the Original Kawasaki belt. But i definitely noticed better idleing, and another shifting with the gates belt. compared to the dayco.
  10. $20 on Amazon or Ebay, it was well worth it.
  11. Hi Roger, I went out To the barn and got the original Carburetor that took off the mule,,I was able to get that limiter cap off. A screw driver and hammer. It has a funny looking head under it, you can use pliers to turn it.
  12. Put a small amount (tablespoon or so) of gas down the Spark plug hole, reinstall the plug and wire, if it fires then dies, fuel system problem, sometimes fuel lines come apart on the inside and clog things up. Then spray some gas into the carb via the air intake, if it sputters or backfires, you may have a valve problem. If it doesn't fire off, there should be a black kill wire going to the coil. un plug it, then try to start it, if starts. The wire is shorting and grounding the coil.
  13. ASSEMBLIES WHERE 59011-1071 IS USED 2007 & Prior MULE 520 (KAF300-D1) - Converter Cover/Drive Belt 2007 & Prior MULE 520 (KAF300-D2) - Converter Cover/Drive Belt 2007 & Prior MULE 550 (KAF300-C4) - Converter Cover/Drive Belt 2007 & Prior MULE 550 (KAF300-C5) - Converter Cover/Drive Belt 2007 & Prior MULE 550 (KAF300-C6) - Converter Cover/Drive Belt 2007 & Prior MULE 550 (KAF300-C7) - Converter Cover/Drive BeltA Careful when using the Dayco belts on these! The dayco number is HP2023, my experience with it was not good. The belt was too tight for the CVT to operate as designed.... It would roll forward when in the forward gear, and roll back when in reverse at idle. even grinding the gears some. I installed a Gates 6013 sportline, works perfectly now!
  14. Those plastic limiter caps sometimes pop off with a screwdriver, or you can file the ears down that stop it, and some people use a dremel and put a flat slot in it for a screw driver. I have mine set I think 2.5 turns out..... The manual says to turn it out where the engine idles the highest, then adjust the screw on the throttle butterfly to idle.
  15. Wow, I went to their website again, at the bottom they have this posted. ODES® IS THE MANUFACTURER AND ONLY SELLS TO DEALERS AND SERVICE CENTERS AND DOES NOT SELL TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. ODES® is legally unable to give technical help to anyone who is not a authorized dealership or service center for ODES products. If you are not a authorized dealership and need technical help, please check our Locate a Dealer portion of this website to locate the nearest ODES dealership and/or service center to you. Talk about B.S. Customer service... It shouldn't be that hard to buy a part for a machine.
  16. Were both intake springs easy to push?
  17. the Ode's dealer won't help you?
  18. Welcome to the UTV board, Mark! Enjoy your new ride!
  19. I'd say keep doing what your doing, following the manual is good. Just get that break in oil changed when it says, and no later.
  20. Could be worn piston rings or a bad valve seal.
  21. I thought that too, at first, but I looked at the parts breakdowns and it shows the bigger alternator and mounting brackets in the "optional" parts list .
  22. Kawasaki makes parts to where you can add a belt driven alternator, either in place of or replacing the stator behind the flywheel...
  23. Yep, that does make sense! Glad you got her going again, take care!
