  1. Does it smell like gas? And you said with out filter, so you don't fill the filter, correct? Or do you just leave the filter?
  2. If they changed the design most likely they would have changed the part number too, I didn't see any surpercession in the parts list.
  3. Here's an old pic, that piece of metal below the cylinder, stick a flat head screwdriver in where it meets the other piece, it will have grooves cut in it, Stick your flathead in their and push the handle to the left, that will pull the Brakes in and give more clearance
  4. Teeth in the drum look good? Are your brake pads interfering with it? To the bottom left of the wheel cylinder, is a little metal tab with grooves cut in it,get a flat head screw driver and pry that in and it should give your brake pads extra clearance.
  5. https://www.gates.com/us/en/ymm/search/part/details?part-number=16G3268 Gates 16G3268 Model Year (Engine) Forge 400i 2017 (393cc) 2018 (393cc) 2019 (393cc) HS Series 2017 (393cc) 2018 (393cc) 2019 (393cc) Tactic 400 2017 (393cc) 2018 (393cc) 2019 (393cc
  6. I would check tightness of battery cables, and any ground wires. And clean them if corroded
  7. Look up Pacific Eagle UTV. They make enclosures for almost all UT V brands
  8. I was thinking of using one of my old head lights as a bed light for The mule, if we're loading fire wood in the dark etc we can see. There is a open electrical accessory connector I can plug to and run the wires alongside the roll cage, and mount a separate switch, I can just cut the old connectors and crimp on new ones, but does anyone know the name of the type connector this uses, all I can find are the square crimp connectors.
  9. 👍 Just an example I though of. Think of a. red gas can, if you block the air vent, it will only pour so much, when you unblock it, it breathes in..
  10. Okay, I found the gas cap your mule uses, and it's like mine. I'd recommend replacing it. IF it's the problem
  11. Generally you either replace it or I've let them soak in a solvent bath, ( gasoline) Due to EPA regs the cap vent is fairly complicated. Let me see if I can find a picture of The gas cap and see....
  12. Oh yes, the gas cap should vent! try running it with the cap unscrewed...
  13. Will it stay running if you rev it up to a constant high RPM? I would also play with the choke a bit, and see if it idles or won't die on partial or almost full choke. Did you replace the carburetor with a new OEM Kawasaki or a Chinesium off of ebay/Amazon? It's possible (Even on a new Low quality carb) for the float (which regulates fuel flow into the carb bowl) to get stuck in the closed position, which prevents any more fuel from flowing into the bowl. It's possible it's a vacuum problem. It's also possible, but not as likely the ignition coil is failing, but they generally don't start right back up.
  14. Yep I replaced the headlights on my mule with 2 small Pod LED s. Brighter, but less power consumption.
  15. 2 things are bouncing around in my mind.... here goes! 1. if i remember correctly the 600 engine uses a stator (alternator) behind the flywheel, on the inside edge of the flywheel are magnets that rotate around the stator as the engine is running and generates AC voltage. its possible something is wrong with the magnets, but not very likely. Sometimes they can fall off/out of the flywheel, but you would more than likely know if they did. 2. Also, sometimes (i know this is true on some Riding Lawnmowers) they have Diodes in the wires that carry the AC voltage, diodes allow current to flow one way, but not the other. And if they go bad current will not flow through the wire. im not 100% sure your mule has them, but i figured its worth putting out their incase someone else knows.
  16. Some of the newer Kawasaki come with the Chery engine... Which doesn't Joyner use too?
  17. This one's been going for 19 years. I replaced the rear axle seal and bearing, and pulled th engine, put new rings and seals on it. It's been a good machine with very few problems over the years.
  18. Could be a restriction on the high speed jet in the carb, Does it do it while driving only or in Neutral just reving?
  19. This may sound silly, but are your battery cable ends free of corrosion?
  20. I found this LINK , it shows it used on virtually all early 00's rangers, from 2000 to 2004.
  21. https://www.polarispartshouse.com/oemparts/a/pol/50360dd7f8700236841159c3/dash-instruments-controls is it any of these listed, in the link
  22. There should be a black kill wire that hooks to the coil, that grounds it when you turn the key off.
  23. Have you tried unhooking the kill wire from the coil?
  24. Had some help unloading too....lol
