  6. I think i will just stick to the what i do now in tight situations, the wife gets out and lifts the rear end to manuver around the tight spots.(LOL)
  7. Kinarfi, Now that we may have the front steering issue resolved you want to tackle the rear????(LOL) Whats next a convertable top??? HHMMMM..maybe not a bad idea...(LOL) the rear wheel steering would really benifit the T-4.
  8. Geniuses do think alike(lol) i originally thought of doing something like that but again my preference was to be able to remove the unit and go back to original just in case.Your way would have been my second choice because of ease.Hope you get us some photos.
  9. thats cause of the great job the wife does cleaning it with a toothbrush after every trip.MINE!!!
  10. Your welcome.Reason i cut the tube in half and used the pipe to extend it is i am going to cut the remainder of the tube off the stock u-joint and weld a 12" long 3/4" pipe on it and the tube on the end of it.That way if i ever have to remove the power steering unit this shaft will slide right on to the stock shaft from steering box as before and u-joint will go onto end of steering wheel shaft.Hope that made sense.
  11. I assume you are talking about stock long shaft down to steering box.I cut the stock oval flat sided tube in half, welded(i think) 7" long 3/4" black pipe on u-joint they sent with unit and welded the flat sided oval tube i cut on to end of pipe.See photo.

  13. thats correct.thats why i was questioning why to put a 20amp breaker on there if he just wants to turn the unit off while he is at high speed.why not just a toggle switch on the white wire to do that?
  14. Are we talking about a 20amp breaker for that white wire that goes to the ignition switch??
  15. Great info, keep it coming.Thank you
  16. ropes, handcuffs, and even leaving them at home are much cheaper.Man am i in trouble....(lol)
  17. I have the 2nd battery located under the hood so i went straight there with the pos & neg.tied the white wire that goes to the switch to the yellow wire at the four wire harness plug that goes up to the ignition switch. On brohaws we tied the pos & neg to the wire connections for the winch,it has a good connection points there.
  18. finnally got a response from Cal at glamis north KOA.the weekend of the 20th -22nd currently looks good.I will be speaking to him again tomorrow but we may have to all make the reservations real soon to lock in the dates and sites.will let you know more tomorrow.
  19. Welcome Smitty, glad you found your way here.
  20. we need a pool as to when it reaches the big 1k. I say by this Saturday.
  21. lenny, you are right.Im not positive but i think the weekend after our dates is easter,if we do decide on the koa we should reserve soon to avoid the people that might be planing on staying from our weekend to the next.
  22. No worries,no thunder to steal. Its all about what the group wants to do.just want to make it clear as to pricing and spaces at koa.Yes individual sites are around 50-55 a night.I think even on those sites if you pay for friday and saturday you will get sunday night for a dollar. That comes out to about 36 bucks a night for the three nights. If you stay thursday through monday morning you pay for the three nights at regular rate(say 55 a night) and then on sunday night you pay a buck and that will end up being about 44 bucks a night for the four nights. On the group sites they are 180 foot long x 55 feet wide with two 30/50 amp power posts, one for each rig.If all want to either boondock in that area or move the jamboree to superstition that also works for me.I do think we need to make that decision soon.
  23. yes,two rigs per site with power for each.not sure what you mean by four in the group?? I will have to pull out park map.Maybe you can call and verify your questions.they are closed right now to puplic but open to some full timers there and construction crews so maybe they will answer.
  24. group sites and some of the regular sites have two 30/50 amp boxes for each space, accomadates two rigs.slab city is maybe 10 miles or so south along the channel.losts of open space but also lots of boondockers kind of spread out and marked their own territory.I have seen some spots that people boondock back in the trails. They exit the 10 fwy at red cloud road up by carico(wrong spelling) summit and head back into the area.seen toyhaulers and motorhomes bac in there but it is a rough dirt/rock road.will get gps and post.
  25. With that new rolling hotel of yours and that big trailer you will probably buy for all your toys i dont think 180' will be long enough.(LOL) just make it a COLD beer.
