  1. Am I correct in assuming that, per earlier conversations, that it's the Hisun engines that are prone to overheating?
  2. What make is the engine? A member here (Joe Breaux) had some overheating issues with his Massimo. He managed to override the thermostat and has the cooling fan running constantly, as long as the engine is running. Fixed his problem. I have a 2019 T-Boss 410, but haven't had any such issue (yet), knock on wood! I understand that Massimo had some overheating issues with a certain make of engine, and they switched to another engine maker.
  3. Looks like you got all the bugs worked out on it. Maybe you can pass along your fix to Massimo so they can help others get theirs fixed đź‘ŤLol, just kidding! Glad to hear that it's finally working so you can enjoy it.
  4. Well, that gives me a warm feeling inside...not! I don't know what make the engine is in mine. I believe that the control arm covers say Linhai on them, so I would assume that the engine is a Linhai? Did you purchase yours before December of last year? That's when I got mine. I also got mine through Ebay, in an online auction.
  5. Do you know if it's limited to a particular model or engine size? I did a quick search for that topic on the internet, but didn't come across anything.
  6. Gotcha. Does yours have an LCD screen with rpms, coolant temperature, fuel level, and mileage?
  7. Thanks. How do I know what temperature is programmed for the fan to kick on?
  8. So.....maybe the bugs are all worked out? Maybe it's worth keeping now? I guess as far as the fan goes, I'm not sure why it was overheating. Is there a thermostat? Is it located in a poor position? I would like more information, so I can see if mine is set up the same way. Sounds like you had a good time, and did better than some in your group.
  9. So, how did your Massimo hold up?
  10. Was your fan not coming on at all? I've let mine idle for a while just to get the fan to kick on. I haven't seen any overheating issues yet, but it is certainly something for me to keep my eyes on. Thanks!
  11. I hope it'll hold up for ya. I guess maybe I am particularly interested in your situation since I have a Massimo myself. Mine's been sitting in the garage for a few weeks. Been busy with other things, and I don't deal with the heat too well anymore. Anyway, yesterday I decided to try and start it. I was quite surprised when it started right up. I expected the battery to need a charge. Anyway, let me know what happens. Thanks!
  12. Were you able to unload yours?
  13. Mine did the same thing once. Put the key in and tried to crank it over. I got nothing. Removed the battery and put it on a charger. While I was at it, I found that the cables at the battery were not very well secured, so once I got a full charge on the battery, I reinstalled it and was sure to get a tight fit on the cables. It's been good ever since. It does lose a bit of a charge if it sits too long without being started.
  14. Could it be the connections at the regulator? Or try to locate a regulator from another vendor. Could be it's a marginal part.
  15. Are you sure it's not the battery? I had some issues with mine, and was fortunate enough to get with a tech at Massimo. He was informative and helpful. He emailed me the wiring diagram for my T-boss 410. His email address is [email protected]. I'm sure he can help. He's not real prompt, but he will get back to you.
  16. I'm sorry, I have been trying to advise you of some way to get what you paid for, but I see you have already tried everything I can think of. I would expect the Texas Attorney General to get some response in your favor. I don't know if the same folks are in charge as when I purchased mine, but I am guessing not. They were very accommodating and helpful. The UTV field is very competitive, so if they want to continue, they need to be more consumer friendly. Is the picture you have attached the actual unit you purchased?
  17. I can't blame you for your feelings for the company. I dealt with someone else than you did, which may have been the difference. I also understand your doubts for the BBB and the Attorney General. In both cases, I have had good and bad luck. Personally, if you have black and white proof of the issues you are having with Massimo, I would be forwarding that proof to the Texas Attorney General's office. I would gather everything I have, fill out the required forms, and send it to that office, via the internet, of course. Once the Attorney General receives the information, they will assign it to one of their investigators, who will of course contact Massimo. They don't want the possibility of legal action, nor the negative press it will undoubtedly generate. This is all just advice on my part, based on experience with this type of thing. I guess it's just the feeling of retribution for poor treatment from the vendor. But if you get some satisfaction from them, you have also improved the chances that others will be treated more fairly.
  18. I bought a 2019 T-boss 410 (actually it was an auction) back in December of 2019. Got it for a decent price, as it was also a floor model. When it arrived (that's another story altogether), the roof was missing. It had broken off during the shipping. The shipper was good enough to refund a portion of the shipping fee. I contacted Massimo and advised them that the roof had broken off during shipment, fully expecting to pay for a new one. Not only did they not charge me, they shipped it with no charges, also. The unit was missing a bolt for the hood, which they shipped free, as well. Brandon the tech also sent me electrical schematics via email when I thought I had a problem with the starter. I can't explain why you were treated in such a poor manner, but if you haven't received any satisfaction from them, I would contact the BBB. Sometimes they can light a fire under their butts, and you may get at least some sort of satisfaction.
  19. Sorry I didn't get back to you. Been kinda busy lately. I hope you have lots of trouble free hours with your Massimo. Mine only has 14 hours. I need a trailer to tow it with. Glad that you heard from the tech. I've used their techs for questions. They have been good about getting back to me, as soon as they can.
  20. Could the large open tube possibly be the air intake?
  21. If you have the same engine that I have in my T-boss 410, there is no oil filter. There's a strainer above the oil drain plug. It comes out, clean it (or replace if necessary). According to my owner's manual, it holds 1.4L of oil. The conversion to quarts is very close to the same measurement.
  22. Actually, I did. That was several years ago. I thought it was a good UTV. I used it for hunting and yard work. I lost it in a divorce, or I would most likely still have it.
  23. Initially, I was impressed by the detail that went into the manufacturing of the Massimo. But I may be premature about that, if in fact they have used cheap parts. Assuming that my model is different than yours, where is your ignition switch located?
  24. Thanks much! Mine is intermittent, but if I can't track down the issue, I just may install your fix. Is the ignition switch only available through the dealership? If it's a poor design, I would prefer to go with an aftermarket switch. I don't know how to cross reference the switch, or I would go that route.
  25. Don't mean to be a pain, but could you possibly draw up some sort of diagram of how you wired the button? Thanks!
