  1. I do own a Massimo and owners manual says 10:1 compression [ I did not tear it down and measure components] and it recommends 91 octane or higher .. but you probably know more than they do. no one suggested he would get more power from 91 octane but I do suggest he can detonate enough to destroy a piston with insufficient octane.. If it could run just fine on 87 , HISSUN and Linhae would recommend it . just my 2 cents worth
  2. I dont know it these can tolerate low octane, the Comp ratio is around 10:1 I run only 93 Octane in all of my UTv and ATVs .. Its only 60 cents higher here than 87 octane.. maybe you should move here? lol just kidding.. Try it with just a gallon in the tank first.. If it pings , fill it with premium
  3. Whats with all the ads ??? Haven t been here lately . Now I cant even get to various forums because they are covered up with ads that I cant X out.. .. do you want us not to come back?
  4. doors open on most UTVs, so access is pretty easy unless its lifted .. my driver seat adjusts .. I m 6ft 1 and 225, I have plenty room .. I second earlier post.. Go sit in a few. at a dealer
  5. but what if none of your friends are there? something to attract attention of any other riders might be better .. like boats, we use airhorns in emergencies .. but now, most cell phones work just about everywhere
  6. Was Coleman using Hisun engines?
  7. where are you that allows ORVs on public streets at 60mph?
  8. so far, really like it..
  9. A professional Builder of ATV/ UTV engines told me a rhino will bolt up
  10. got over 100 miles on it.. runs better every time .. Thing has big balls .. I ride with several friends. One has an Arctic Cat 650 V-twin.. ... He smokes my SXS every trip, but I got the last laugh when we matched up with my CForce 600.. on flat ground .. This thing is very fast out of the hole with the CVT transmission. .. It does burn more fuel than my others.. maybe 15 mpg..
  11. My 500 engine has no decompression release , but it spins easily and has always started easily.. that was never an issue.. blown head and head gaskets were the plague that fell upon mine from 1st day I bought it.. for which Massimo refused any warranty reimbursement from first day break down on
  12. never had issues with starting it.. always started right up..and in 5-10 minutes overheated! lol .. All is good now. But it was a nightmare from day one when I had to be towed back to Camp after 15 minutes of driving! Maybe your battery is aging or might not be large enough ? I had a 350CCA battery in mine new.. When it crapped out, I put a Marine Starting 600CCA battery under driver seat and ran new larger and longer cables. used #6 AWG wires
  13. just an update on my MSU 500 . For all the misery it caused me the first 2 yrs, and the combination of some quality YAMAHA parts, it has now become a reliable ,useful UTV without the constant fear of having to push or tow it back from trails. I have not had a single issue pop up in a very long time.. FINALLY!....and as a side note, I just bought a C FORCE 600 ATV to replace an old and well used Honda that finally after 18 yrs gave up a rod bearing. So far the new one has really impressed me .. I like the new Power Steering and this CVT Auto Trans is new to me on an ATV .. I m used to constant shifting on my Hondas . It also has something I have never seen. Its EBS engine brake system, as soon as you let go of throttle, it engine brakes you to a stop rather quickly.. its great idea for the grandkids safety . Takes a little getting used to tho.. All in all, I like it. We shall see how durable it is after break-in.. I do "RIDE" them! .....and they honor their warrenty! and the dealer is 15 minutes away..
  14. Weii I can say it's a pretty good machine so far..I like the Power Steering auto trans. Lots of power but it does seem to run higher rpmsthan my others and definitely burns more fuel so far. May improve after break in. I AM NOT USED TO THE EBS. (Engine braking system).nice for wife and grandkids tho.
  15. Well, I did it.. I bought the CF MOTO 600 CForce .. I tell you the damn thing is nice.. Power steering /Auto Trans .. runs and drives unbelievable quiet and lots of power.. So far I m giving it a big thumbs up . Time will tell if its durable but for now its impressive
  16. agree . I have 4 Hondas.. all still run great. but theres just none here.. they are preselling them before arrival.. and the prices have skyrocketed
  17. about to pull the trigger on a CF Moto ATV.. everyone seems to like theirs, good reviews .. anyone want to warn me of issues with them ? I like my Hondas but the prices have gone nuts and availability is a joke.. This seems like a good deal
  18. that works too.. dont let them overheat.. serious damage will occur. I m sure you know already . but dont pull anything in High gear
  19. a leaking head gasket will put air into coolant as well. Hisun engines are known for head gasket failure.... while its running hot, look at coolant recovery bottle.. if you see tiny bumbles rising, its a head gasket leak.. hopefully its just your sender. you can jump it to run continuously til you can replace it
  20. cant really see in your pic.. its been a few years, but I believe it was above and rearward of pump housing.. it looks like a regular 10mm bolt just run the engine and slightly unscrew it, the air will be forced out.. there is another on top of head at water neck. do both several times to evacuate all air
  21. you said it brother.. as for filter, the Amazon filter worked on my MSU 500
  22. My first post on this thread was simply to suggest retorquing heads after cooling cycles, nothing about Massimo.. Or did you miss that? I do not show up just to bash brands.. Obviously I praise HONDA and KAWASAKI because I see their quality. if you cant see that, block me .. obviously you dont need my input and past experience with all the problems and solutions I have found on these things .. But I ll bet others have benefited .. BTW I dont need your permission to share my experiences.
  23. I did not take pics, sorry.. but its pretty easy to do. Sender is on Passenger side of radiator, just unplug it , jump it for 100% or connect plug to seperate fan controller .. Hope that helps
