Massimo buck 250 loud knock on start up
Joe Breaux replied to Jason Dickman's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
typical of Massimo tech line.... NO ANSWER, NO CALL BACK... They are truly the worst company in the business .. And forget finding a shop to do warranty work............. I wish someone had told me before I bought one. that sounds like a starter issue to me . loose bolt, damaged gear teeth, misaligned .. check bolts, Remove the starter and check the teeth on drive gear -
2022 Massimo Buck 450 First Oil Change Tips Needed
Joe Breaux replied to Bill Hughes's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
make sure your oil is approved for WET CLUTCH applications.. Do not use Full Synthetic Automotive oils .. I personally use ACTEVO m/c oil from Castrol 10W40 in all my ATVs, UTV and M/C -
Really? I could not disagree more! If you seriously think a HISUN engine in a Massimo is exactly the same quality as a HONDA engine..you must be brand new to UTVs And my local Honda dealer handles all warranty without fail.. I have bought 4 ATVs from them.. Have yet to pay a dime . Massimo has never paid for a warranty claim in 12 years of selling them.. BTW Hondas are manufactured in the US. Only the engines/transmissions are imported.. From JAPAN , not China .. So I just dont see how you can say what you did?

2022 Massimo T-Boss 410 won't go into drive
Joe Breaux replied to Linda Martin's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
great might be a bit overreach.. lets call it adequate, or maybe good. ..... lol It does run well now and always did well in mud and muck.. But the first two years were .just..... ride for an hour, load on trailer ,bring to shop.. PAY $$$$$ , repeat... repeat, repeat ,repeat... It got really frustrating . I warn everyone to avoid Massimo. Unless you are a UTV mechanic and can make repairs yourself , or you just have lots of $$$ and like a challenge. lol -
are you using it for towing? That seriously shortens clutch life

2022 Massimo T-Boss 410 won't go into drive
Joe Breaux replied to Linda Martin's topic in Massimo UTV SxS Forum
no, its actually doing fine . But its now MASSIMO /YAMAHA hybrid....lol .. and I carry a toolbox and a towrope in the bed . With the money I spent in repairs , i could have bought the Honda Pioneer and had money left over. .. I just wish I had known just how bad Massimo lack of warranty service really is.. BEFORE I bought it from Tractor Supply . If they would at least back up their product, it would have been OK.. But they dont back up sh&t.. NOTHING!!! Shops wont touch these anymore. They dont get paid. Its awful. but I digress...lolol -

Return it to store for refund ... buy a Honda.. I wish I had............ My MSU 500 broke on 1st day after 1 mile ... They refused warranty coverage. ever since . I have been bleeding money keeping it running for 3 years now . Been in shop 6 times -
Buying UTV for my elderly mom on her ranch and need advice
Joe Breaux replied to SteveSS's topic in UTV General Discussion
stay away from the Chinese Built knock offs.. Trust me on this one . Stick with name brands.. cost more but cheaper in the long run .. btw they all have automatic clutches now .. -
Yuasa Batteries will take care of you...
Joe Breaux replied to Travis's topic in UTV General Discussion
ah... battery connection bolts... I probably have half a dozen of those in my tool box.. I always keep the old ones that are still good when I replace a battery.. They strip out easily and a regular metric nut just dont work -
Looking to buy a UTV for farm work and snow plowing
Joe Breaux replied to Bill Kresge's topic in UTV General Discussion
I agree completely about ethanol.. I have 4 boats with both 2 stroke and 4 stroke outboards.. ETHANOL is a disaster waiting to happen in any engine that does not run daily . Especially here in 95% humidity . ethanol literally sucks the water out of the air in the tanks , just to f -up your carbs and injectors.. Leave a nasty gunk inside.. and eats up fuel hoses . I will not use it. I have had to clean and rebuild way too many carbs over the years .. One boat has 8 freaking carbs on twin engines.. It was ridiculous... I would have to actually use a drill bit to get that hard gunk out of the jets... .No mo ethanol in mine.. -

Some have oil coolers too. But again, if you aint moving, you aint cooling. Maybe its not placebo but instead its the very cold air now.. On High Performance car engines, you can gain up to 1% HP increase for every 10 degree drop in inlet air below 70 degrees .. feed an engine 30 degree air and you will feel it -

haha... No mule here...just a Lowly MASSIMO .. clone of a Yamaha Rhino .. 42 mph on flat ground ... I was going to buy the Honda Pioneer, but my 90 year old Dad insisted on this one at Tractor Supply . It was supposed to be for him since he just cant ride ATVs anymore. It broke every time we ran it so he wont even drive it . I tried to trade it on the Honda when it was still new... NOPE! Honda refused it. -

I usually run midgrade 89 octane.. But I have used 87 octane.. no pinging .. Buddies of mine all run reg or midgrade in theirs .. except the guy with the RAZR .. he claims it runs better on 105 octane.. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT .. Altho he smokes all of us. ha ha -

Joe Breaux replied to Bill Kresge's topic in UTV General Discussion
I dont think heat produced by fuel is any different. Premium doesnt increase power . Higher octane is simply additives to prevent detonation and damage in higher compression engines..Its the higher compression ratio that makes more power. not the premium fuel ............ I do usually run non-ethanol mid grade 89 octane in mine. but it does run fine on 87 octane without pinging. . All 4 of my Hondas run fine on regular midgrade or premium.. . Never had any overheating issue on the 2 air-cooled ATVs I have ,or the 2 water-cooled.. -

Joe Breaux replied to Bill Kresge's topic in UTV General Discussion
maybe the higher initial cost and the higher price of diesel fuel ? It is much higher than gas here .. My LS Tractor is TURBO Diesel , and fuel is $3 .69 /gal . .. ...Reg gas is $2.69 here -
calling TECH Support is a waste of time at MASSIMO... they simply dont care .. Truly the worst company ever. As stated, you must not be moving to change gears or 4wd..if it is stubborn, turn off engine, shift as needed , depress brake pedal and restart in gear. As for winch, thats probably the only thing that has been trouble free on mine.

As long as it does not say MASSIMO anywhere on it , you should be good -
Condolences brother.. Massimo is the worst manufacturer on earth.. Absolute rip off company.. They wont fix any defect .. Mine broke on ITS VERY FIRST DAY with only ONE MILE on odometer .. They refused to pay repair shop.. and it was recommended on phone by Company Rep in Dallas. I tried to trade mine with less than 100 miles on it, on a new Honda Pioneer.... They refused to even consider Massimo. Everyone should get together and SUE them

Yuasa Batteries will take care of you...
Joe Breaux replied to Travis's topic in UTV General Discussion
I have had good luck with CHROME Battery products .. I ve bought 5-6 over the years for various machines. They have 24 month warranty which is twice what most have.. I had one fail at 18 months , called them, and had a new one in 3 days, FREE...Great service Dept. CLEARLY no affiliation with Massimo! HAHA -

Lexus Introduces a Hydrogen Combustion UTV/ROV
Joe Breaux replied to Alex's topic in UTV General Discussion
Well, there no funding for it from our idiot president.. Its not one of his big donors. BUT, He just spent $11.9 million for veterinarians to insert I.U.D.s into WILD HORSES to cut their population .. Seems wild horses are running amuck all over America now??? But PETA is claiming its violating horses REPRODUCTIVE rights....LOL go figure Ok so I made up the PETA part but the $11M horsey IUDs is real.. .....LETS GO BRANDON! -
running a new HISUN wide open on its first time out is risky.. These engines are not designed for abuse.. They barely hold up under normal conditions.. My MSU 500 with 1000 miles on it, which is HISUN too, tops out at 40-42mph on flat ground .. I would think the 750 should do better than 45 .. Its supposed to be 10 more HP. The only governor on mine is in reverse

the transmission is under that big hole , I believe.. clutch is on other side where air cooling hoses attach to the outer fan housing .. maybe a google search for engine schematic would help- 48 replies

The prices are insane now when you start adding optional equip.. Mine is no speed demon by any means my friends smoke me on top speeds ............, it will do 42mph on level ground with a good running start but it does VERY WELL in deep mud uphill in 4WD Lock. .. I have friends with "premium " brands that ride with me sometimes and twice I have pulled them out of a big mudhole that I just went thru successfully. and by pulled, I dont mean with my winch.- 48 replies

Its true Massimo is a horrible company, BUT His implosion is not a common issue.. Its the first I have heard of. Not everyone can go out and drop $20K on a new toy. ..........After working all the "bugs" out of mine, it has been running very well for more than a year .. and it's used every weekend .- 48 replies
