I've used my 12k Atlas lift for both my RTV-900 and -XG850. There are no downsides to using a lift for working on the RTV.

$8 barn hinge from the local hardware store helps, plus a slightly stronger tension spring on the acc pedal.

For a 16 digit PIN/VIN, the 9th number indicates the year. Hence, in this case, the OP's RTV is a 2006. Which is the same year as y RTV:
