  1. Just thought of something else. I'd get the half door model if I had to do it again unless you run with the doors off.
  2. I got the zippered windows, but not on the back. They zip from the bottom front to the rear top and don't fold over like you really think they would. It kind of ends up on a diagonal. Not real convenient. I figured it would not be easy to roll up the back either.
  3. Got mine from 3 star industries. Fits perfect. Easy installation. Bob
  4. Thanks. I've seen lots of his posts. Just trying to figure if the Hisun 500s would be Rhino year and engine specific.
  5. Got it from Lowes and it is the same as the Hisun HS series. Everyone says it the same as the Yamaha Rhino, but I'm not sure which size, 450, 660, or 700. I'm guessing the 450. And what years are we talking about? The main reason I ask is the Niche parts website has lots of parts for Yamahas if they were needed. I know the Motorcycle Doctor is first on my list, but Niche would be a good backup. Thanks Bob
  6. Got this out of a 2014 Hisun service manual. Don't know if it helps but it can't hurt. LWG=Manufacturer. MD=UTV below 750 cc, TZ=500cc, 40= DOT check digits, E= 2014 model year, B=Manufacturing Plant B, 000346= sequential number.
  7. It's a whole lot heavier than I expected. I raised my front shocks to the stiffest position but will put them back now. I can't imagine the UPS driver was very happy having to unload it.
  8. Snatch block is attached where you would normally attach. I used a clevis attached to the snatch block so it pulls straight and level with the winch. Wish I could show you a pic but am laid up with foot surgery.
  9. I just reread your post and see I didn't really answer the mount question. The plow mount needed a different hole or something pretty easy. I actually found it easier to remove the bumper. They may have changed the mount by now.
  10. I've disconnected it for now but I used a snatch block attached to the plow and then ran it up to the strap around the bumper. I tried it straight to the plow but it seemed to be harder on the winch, which quit working after awhile. It would spin but not real in or out. I replaced it with a tractor supply winch, exact mount up. Anyway, the plow raises easier with the extra pulley. It really amounts to the same thing as running the cable to a tree and back to the machine for easier pulling. I used a strap from a tree stand harness. You don't need anything special, just something sturdy enough to lift the plow.
  11. I use this: https://www.motoalliance.com/denali-utv-snow-plow-kit-standard-series. I had to modify the mount just a little, but I can't remember what I had to do. Nothing major. I did call the company and tell them and they were glad to know the difference. Do yourself a favor and run the cable out to the plow and then up to the bumper. I cut some plastic from the grill and ran a strap through it and connected the winch to the strap. Much easier on the winch. The plow is heavy but works great.
  12. I've had a Hisun HS500 (Axis 500) that I bought at Lowes almost a year ago. I have downloaded the service manual found on this forum and notice that they have 2009 and 2010 year dates on them. Isn't there a newer version available somewhere? I'm about to try my first ever valve adjustment and am wondering if the info is the same. Mine is fuel injected but there is carb info in those manuals. Don't know if they still have carb models now but figure they did then. Thanks Bob
  13. I have the same machine from Lowes and found that a grip wrench with the rubber strap works perfectly. Also found a replacement oil filter at Tractor Supply. I can get the number if you need it. The filter is a purolator L14612

  15. I bought my 500 from Lowes. Just couldn't justify the price of others for the little use I got it for. It was only $7999 this time last year but have gone up $1000 since then. Had too adjust the shift linkage and tighten exhaust manifold but other than that no problems. Have a service dealer 30 miles away and will have the valves adjusted there. Easier to shift after the first oil change. Seems like break in oil was much thicker. Maybe just my imagination. I keep it on a trickle charger all the time and it starts and runs great. Good luck if you decide to buy. 700 wasn't available at my Lowes or I would have got that. I also bought a plow for it and it performs great.
  16. On my Hisun HS500 the flashing light on the dash panel means its in 4 wheel drive. You have to make sure your diff isn't in the lock position also. Sorry can't help with the hard shift. Mine shifted hard into low until I adjusted it.
  17. I adjusted my 500 by lifting the center console and adjusting the linkage with the turnbuckle. The shift lever had to be moved forward to lock into gear. It also shifted even better after I did the first oil change. Bob
