As you can tell. Sometimes (usually)I slip 2 - 3 hrs then wake up! Curse of growing old! Feel a little foolish, why not put the darn thing in gear, set the brake? Crack the nut, put back tdc and continue on?? Duh?? Be nice to know if it’s right or left though. Thanks Joe. -
Remember, some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope!!

Oh I didn’t mention on this thread…ECU……runs great. Bought at Motor Cycle Doctor, best price and very helpful people.

Thanks everyone, it's fixed, lots of help from Joe Toupe.

Have worked the daylights out of it, 6 yrs. The thing basically lives in a ft or so of tanic, acidic swamp water. Just yesterday had to change the ECU. Bought from Motorcycle Doctor. They go from $160. at MD to over $400. Their delivery was 4 days, great company. Other than that 1 set rear tires, wheel bearings and little things like that which I consider wear items. Been a fantastic machine. I like the side by side and the fact it is smaller than most other brands. Have hauled out dozens of hogs and in last 2 yrs 6 deer. I use a game sled, for lack of better description. Just roll the deer, hog in it, throw a rope around the hitch. Screw lifting it on the body. When I get out to the truck I haver a small Block & Tackle in truck bed, simple pull the game up a plank into the truck bed. No lifting for this old man!!!

O'k since last post I let it set, went on a vacation, got busy with other things. I tried everyones suggestions..no luck. Also it DOES have a fuse/relay box under the drivers seat. You remove the seat AND the bolt down panel under the seat and the box (its small) is bolted to the frame. It's maybe 4" x 2.5" and 3-4 inch thick max! Front and back is screwed down for moisture protection. No fuses blown. there are 5 little relays soldered in. Tested the connector at pump, there are 12volts to the pump with switch on and something like 4-5 volts in the 4 pole connector to the fuel gauge (it works). There is no ground to the pump. Pump is supposed to cycle 2-3 seconds when you turn key on...I traced the ground wire over the engine, opening the harness all the way to the fuse/relay panel thru 2-3 plug connectors with the wire changing colors 3 times!! There are no branches in the wire. I have continuity all the way from the fuel pump to a relay in the box. Removed fuel pump and it runs on the bench. Re-installed pump, attached jumper wire from ground to frame and it runs. So ground IS the problem but why?? Also still no spark to EITHER plug. Replaced the fuse/relay box with new...still no fuel ground or spark. Oh, new battery as old one was bad. Thinking new ECU? Its a DOLPHI MT05, used on over 50 UTV/moptorcycles........FINALLY a question. As this ECU is used on many different makes/models does it have to be programed/flashed for my specific machine? If so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Seems a darn shame companies have to move out of country to get better tax breaks. Lots of lost jobs here at home.

That sounds really great!! Now something like that I could really get into. We dream about a deeded rv lot to set up on, maybe sell the house…but here in Florida they’re ridiculously priced. I guess everyone goes north in the summer and rents their lot down here in the winter

I’m about done hunting and soon won’t have use or desire for a 4 wheeler anyhow.
-
Well if Iwas that unhappy I’d go buy a Honda?
-
Oh dont get me wrong, my buddies Honda definitely was a nicer machine....I guess. But $6000-$8000 more and his Honda came without a windshield and I believe he pd extra for the roof and winch, I know on lots of them you do. All that came stock on the Massimo. Another friend has 2 Arctic Cats, beat the crap out of both of them like I have my Massimo, he's had LOTS mort trouble with them than I have the Massimo. My point??? None them are any better than they need to be, and they ALL have parts made in China, everything does .Lincoln is nicer than a Maverick.....but again LOTS more expensive, its all what you want and what you want to put in it.

Buddy of mine has a Honda side by side, not sure which model I Don't know. Beautiful machine. During off season (hunting) every time we were going out in the swamp, rough terrain I noticed he's say, "You taking your Massimo" when I'd say he he's answer "o'k I'll leave mine home. One time he brought his Honda because he had big tall tires and would clear more water. We came to a log 6"-8" no big deal. He takes iy OUT of 4 Wheel I say wait, you can get over that log easier IN 4 W.D. He says "not with this thing, I've broken 2-3 front axels in 4 W.D. climbing over logs!! I said Oh, thats why you usually leave this home, he just smiled!! Yes, they ALL break and as far as a part saying Made in China, if anyone says any of them don't have parts made in China................LOL! Be careful Joe, there are those in moderation that don't like this "LETS GO BRANDON" deal!!!! Ask me how I know, remember my avatar???

Transmission's grinds on our Buck 450 when you shift it.

As far as gears grinding on that Buck 450, can't sat I'm familiar with that machine or how it shifts, my MSU 800 they caution you not to try shifting from low to high while underway, it's too easy to kiss reverse. if it ever went completely into reverse....by by tranny!!- 48 replies

I didn't know Tractor Supply had sold them for several years. I bought mine from a dealer in west Florida in 2016 for the very reason of which you speak, Thing is nothing ever broke on my MSU 800 so I never had to see about the warranty covering anything. I had a young guy work for me in my company (nothing to do with ATV's) that worked previously for Tractor Supply. He said they stopped selling them because they couldn't get parts for them. I showed him where I basically could build one ground up with new pets on line. Only things I've needed are brake shoes and wheel bearings after 2-3 yrs. Considering it lived pretty much in the swamp and water I understood why. I've worked the daylights out of the thing. Hey Joe, don't "digress", I didn't even know we were arguing!!!- 48 replies

Its a tough one for sure. I wouldn't think the stator and rectifier would of had anything to do with it starting as long as it cranks. I guess I would do what Michael says first and check the fuses..

You sir are simply upset beacause obviously contrary to your upbringing you were proven wrong and still won’t admit it!! You assume everyone is wrong unless they PROVE you’re the one wrong.how many times did you and others imply I was wrong.Where I come from that’s calling that person a liar!! I’m not saying you were intentionally raised that way but you certainly haven’t proven me wrong yet! And now you’re handing out medical advice……sad. Well I need to go take a drive out on city streets, have a great day! Oh I don’t kick my dog but……
