  1. If you translate the page using Google from Russian to English the article says in Russian but right at the top in English you will see Download in pdf here. Download it and then you can copy and paste it into a Russian to English on-line Translation website like this one here... http://webtranslation.paralink.com/ and read the article. Hint, don't copy and paste too much at one time. I've read the story and it's very interesting. It's called the Woodcutter and was built to go through dense wooded areas. I do like it, but realise it's not for every one. I also like the way they think outside the box. I might try and get one or two of them to post here just to get another point of view. Cheers Mike.
  2. I forgot to mention the mud guards too. That would work. Cheers Mike.
  3. Just found this on Joyner Sport Russia's website. I can't copy & paste the Russian words to translate, but the pictures speak for themselves. Kind of reminds me of a Mad Max Buggy, but way cooler. Of note rocmoc, check out the doors. That's thinking outside the box. What do you reckon. I like it. http://www.joynersport.ru/news/2010/08/04/268/ Cheers Mike.
  4. I used to drive trucks line haul through the night and I only had heat directed at my feet, but the reason for that was any heat on your face made you feel sleepy. If you use the stock Joyner heater with an enclosure, you will be as snug as a bug in a rug for sure. Jeff have you looked at a UTV Heater? They are small so don't really work that well but you can direct them towards your feet. I think they go for about fifty bucks. Personal, I would go for the bigger Joyner heater on eBay, but then I don't get cold feet. Cheers Mike.
  5. There is or was a stock heater unit for the Troopers. Here is one on eBay for sale. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HEATER-Kit-Mfg-Joyner-Trooper-T2-T4-Cab-NEW-/260646440644?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cafbd0ec4 but knowing you, your exhaust extractor system will work just as good for half the price. Cheers Mike.
  6. plumber, if you would like a Lexan Windshield at cost instead of an Enclosure for letting GCL use your Trooper, I'll check it out with Joe Fowler. I'm sure it will be alright. What ever you want including the mud stopper doors or any combo will be at cost to you. I've got the cost price in front of me so will PM you with it after I get the OK from Joe. Retail price is $429.99 for a Lexan Windshield and $949.99 for a full cab with a Lexan Windshield. Cheers Mike.
  7. Jeff, I like it. Maybe one thing you could look at doing is trim up your old broken mud guards and instill beneath your foams ones to sure them up a bit, or ideally, a skeletal rubber frame that tapers off in strength and weight towards the outside. Maybe a wire inner for the rubber frame to say half way over. One more idea could be a wire batten sown underneath the foam to hold it out stuff. You could call it a Viagra system. Food for thought any way. It might be good enough as it is. I agree with rocmocs idea too. This would also stop gravel & rocks entering the cab. I will be getting GCL to make up some mud stopper doors at some stage too. These open so you don't have to climb over. If anyone is interested, drop me a line. Again rocmoc, these would be no good for you with suicide door frames. Here is a link to a John Deere Gator with mud stopper doors. http://pacificeagle.webs.com/apps/webstore/products/show/1557438 Cheers Mike.
  8. Lenny, I see what you mean now. The Trooper can be tail happy in 2wd and on the marbles in 4wd it is the same, but regardless as soon as you put the anchors on as you start to slide, with or without tweaking the T2s setup, you will loose more control. If you can pull it up in time then no harm done. I always try to power out of a bad saturation, but that is not 100% the answer. I grew up on metal roads and as soon as I got my first car this was our weekend entertainment. I had a near miss once when someone panicked so much just as I was heading into a notorious hairpin I slammed the brakes on and slide towards the outside of the corner and pulled up about five feet from a huge drop-off. Flatbed, good to hear from you mate, howz that hotrod build coming on? I've sold my Z28, but might get another one to play around with sometime into he future but the kids have got to that stage where they have cars now so not a lot of room around here. Cheers Mike.
  9. Lenny, that's how we drive it in New Zealand and gravel is your friend when you do it right. On the tarmac(not with the mudlites), you would have to drift it to stop it rolling but on gravel you just power up and point your noise where you want to go. Of course most of the time this means crossing the wheel up, if you know what I mean. The Trooper behaves like a Rally car and that's just one more reason to like it. The secret is to set yourself up for the corner and use your pedals to steer more than your steering wheel and don't brake in the corner, keep the pedal to the metal. Like Rhys Millen in this video, which showcases the difference between gravel and tarmac beautify. By the way, this is one of the best driving your see and he is a Kiwi. Quig, I have 16lbs in my tyres have left the shocks as they were set and do your kind of terrain plus mud, lots of mud. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention mud, heaps and heaps of mud. Cheers Mike.
  10. OK, I've got a bit of interest with these Trooper enclosures. The deal is I need to order a certain amount of enclosures before I can place a order for a new type to be made up by the manufactures. My retail price will be about $650 (normal retail $799)for a full canvas enclosure, but to get these out there, I'll charge cost only plus freight from Kentucky to you. That will be $400 plus freight until I reach that number. I thought I needed a stock enclosure for a template, but as it turns out, a Trooper is needed to get properly fitted out. I have offered plumber first refusal on a below cost enclosure, because he lives in the same state as GCL UTV Enclosures in Kentucky. The stock enclosure is about $300 with some cheaper ones available, but is not very good quality. So far I have three that are interested and I need a few more. So if you want a chance to buy a top quality enclosure at a bargain price, this is it. If you have modified your Roll-cage or have a T4 this deal is no good for you, sorry rocmoc, Paiute3 & others. To get a better idea, go to http://www.gclutv.com/index.php and look for a full cab enclosure. If you are interested in some of the other products like a Summer cab or a pair of mud stopper doors, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Material colours are Army Camo, Desert Camo, National Guard Camo, Onyx Black and Hemp Beige. Cheers Mike.
  11. Hi Quig, I've sent through a PM to you too.
  12. Hi Todd, long time no hear mate. I'll send through a pm to you.
  13. Zorro, you can post it here http://www.utvboard.com/forum/12-utv-off-road-classifieds-buy-sell/ and if you give me all your details, I'll post it on my site too at no cost here http://www.lifestyleutvs.com/classifieds.htm . I might be in New Zealand but unfortunately for me 95% of my websites hits comes from the USA. Cheers Mike.
  14. Double click on the YouTube screen to watch it from YouTube itself, then pause the video screen on UTV Board so you don't have two running together. In the format above, it hasn't got all the info on it. rocmoc, you will then see that I did cheat a bit, because in the 1st video it states, 'the greatest sound ever in a Mk1', so I got the best example to be fair. In the 2nd video, it is actually a breakdown of a DOHC 4 cylinder engine, or our Chery 1.1 engine. Cheers Mike.
  15. Hey Lenny, that's me talking to pghruby on Joyner Forum. I got a little excited and typed a reply before really thinking things through. The 1.1, 1.3, 1.6 and the 2L engines back then are generations away from the Chery 1.1, 1.6 and 2L Joyner have been using in recent years. What worked back then, might not work now. The first generation engines I was referring to where carbureted OHV engines, we have DOHC injected engines now. If Chery have based their engines on the original Ford engines(this is where I jumped to the wrong conclusion), it sure was a good one to copy, but they have updated all the components to such a stage where they would not have too much in common anymore. pghruby was referring to the Ford U.S. CVH motor from the 80s & 90s, not the British OHV motor from the 60s & 70s(that I was) and a VW Jetta transmission so just take notice of his statement as mine is non-relevant. rocmoc, there were 1.6 ford engines and 1.6 Ford engines back in the day and my memory of the Ford Escort 1.6 engine is the opposite of yours. It could be that you guys in the States had quicker engines of the same h.p that we didn't have, or us in N.Z, Australia and the UK had the know how to get the best out of these engines, I don't know. Did yours sound like this Mate, if that sounds like your tractor, at least it's the best sounding Tractor around. While I was playing around on YouTube I found this clip which I know most of you will enjoy Make sure you watch part 2. Cheers Mike.
  16. Joyner have included an oil cooler on the list of improvements for the Trooper upgrade along with a new modular safari bed, an air scoop on the side, upgraded shocks front & rear, a new exhaust system, headlight relocation and new wheels. I would like to think that these upgrades will be available as spare parts so current Trooper owners can enjoy those improvements too. If you are interested in these upgrades, send an email through to JMC if you are in the States. Plumber, I'm not sure where they are going to instill the oil cooler on the new model Trooper, but details can't be to far away, surely. Cheers Mike.
  17. roc, I've got some photos for you. These suicide doors are from Joyner's Russian website. Check out the front and rear mudguards too. Not bad, not bad at all, in fact, I want some. These guys have also done the best Joyner Renegade video I have seen. The link to the video is JOYNER U.T.V.s & BUGGIES Cheers Mike.
  18. If it is your wheel bearings Silver Bullet has upgrade bearings for $25 each. The link is/ Bearings, other parts, RB-0864 - Silver Bullet Motorsports, Inc - Yuma AZ - Team Joyner USA Cheers Mike.
  19. Yeah, interesting photos. Looks like a China Lites race or a Baja race in Nevada. Further on there were a bunch of non-Joyner UTVs lined up ready to race but interesting the Trooper was racing against the Buggies. That would be right, the Trooper is to much for the competition to handle. Obviously the Trooper has tried to keep up with the Sand Vipers which would be a big mistake. Power is no problem but it is not set up for big jumps or handling the rough stuff flat out like the Buggies are. Cheers Mike.
  20. Quig, welcome to UTV Boards. Not a lot to report at this stage. I have posted an update of the new Joyner models and updates here ANNOUNCEING 2011 JOYNERS COMING SOON - UTV BOARD - Side X Side and UTV Forum post #7. I can also give you a couple of websites that are new ... Firstly, this is the manufactures new website still under construction/ CHANGZHOU JOYNER RECREATIONAL VEHICLES CO.,LTD and a Chinese website that Google can convert back to English/ http://www.joynervehicles.cn/ Other than that, watch out for updates on JMC's website here/ Welcome To JMC MOTORS and if I or anybody else get any more news that can be passed on, I will do so on UTV Boards. Cheers Mike.
  21. As far as I understand the Auto will only be for the 800cc & 1100cc gas models, but will try and find out for you. Cheers Mike.
  22. Ken Morris, who is mentioned above as being hired as the quality control and production manager in the factory is one reason Joyner will succeed and will be the main reason that Joyner will become a Power force in the Powersports industry. It just shows that JMC is capable of making very sound decisions. Cheers Mike.
