  1. Thank Rocmoc, GPS coordinates according to google earth for the turn off are 38 05 46.88 N 110 37 18.13 W I'll add photos and maps info as I get it.
  2. Tell about it, I order a chip to make a 12 to 18v converter and it was so small, I ruined it by breaking of several leads trying to use it, so I order some samples from another source and they were even smaller, They're still in the bag and in storage, no way can I use them until I get a microscope to work under I did get a 12 to 60 volt converter working so I can drive some 10Watt LEDs, but I blew them up and have more ordered, hope I get them and have it working for jamboree
  3. My self, I don't think you need to worry too much about it. We have catalytic converters already, I've talked to a few officials while out and never had them ask or check. I have no intentions of doing anything to my exhaust system. Kinarfi
  4. I think I still have some of my special cool aid left over from when I had kids at home, you give it to the kids and put them to bed or lay them on the floor and they dehydrate and flatten out in about 8 hrs, then you pick them up and fold the up and put them in a drawer until you get back, then you just unfold them and put them in a tub of water or out on the lawn with the sprinkler on and the swell back up and are just fine in about 4 hours. Would you like the recipe? You'll love American Fork canyon if it ever melts.
  5. Thought about joining you, but the rain, the memorial day traffic, etc. etc. convinced me to stay home and work on the Trooper some more, little things, but the next time you're planning to go down I15 past Pleasant Grove, let me know and I'll try to join you, you could even stop by for minute or two. Kinarfi - getting antsy to go out and play
  6. Bosch is being difficult on the web, no easy cross referencing, what's the number and I'll add it to parts & pieces. Thanks Kinarfi
  7. here's what I did to keep the oil out of my throttle body, first picture is of a catch bottle between the valve cover and throttle body, 2nd is my mounted air/oil separator, 3rd is how I built the air oil separator, the breather element was epoxied to the end cap, silicone would probably work also, Plus I turned throttle body upside down so the oil drains out to the cylinders. Recently learned/heard something about silicone. Oil will eat/degrade some silicones, Napa salesman said to use the "Napa ultra" on my oil pan because it is "oil resistant". Anyone know anything about this? Kinarfi
  8. Yea, WHAT are you getting ready for, I'm ready now, got the motor home inspected and registration renewed, changed the starter today - it was starting to drag real bad, Trooper is inspected and registered, just finished pulling the engine and resealing the pan to engine added a few fun toys, adding some new LED lights to the front. Yes, I am ready to go play. Now I just need some good weather, don't want to play in the mud. Kinarfi
  9. next time you change your oil, lay a bolt up against the threads of where the filter screws on. Use a bolt that you know has a 1.5mm pitch, that would be a 10, 12, 14 or 16mm and also try a 3/8-16 or a 3/4-16, then you will know for sure which thread you have. Kinarfi PS, they are real close, a 3/4-16 would be 19.05-1.5875mm I doubt you could do any damage if you used the wrong one.

Any one have any idea what beta ratio means? Fram didn't give any information except for physical size, so I didn't add Fram to this table. Kinarfi
  11. I had my sweetheart go get my oil filter for me and when I got it I was still messing around looking at cross references and noticed that the Napa Gold #1348 filter has a thread of 3/4-16 and my Trooper need a thread of 20-1.5, so I had her take it back and we ended up getting a Wix 51334 from Checker O'Reilly and they had gallon bottles of oil on sale, so we got 4 gallon of oil and it turns out the one bottle is perfect for an oil change. I use Valvoline 10-40. Troopers with Thread Size: 20X1.5 MM can use: http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=51347 ****** this is what Lenny uses http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=51334 ** this is what I used this time http://www.napafilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=1347 ** Napa gold had a few more filter pleats than Wix http://www.napafilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=1334 http://www.napafilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=PS1334 http://www.framcatalog.com/PartDetailWindow.aspx?b=F&pn=PH6010A http://www.framcatalog.com/PartDetailWindow.aspx?b=F&pn=PH3593A http://www.framcatalog.com/PartDetailWindow.aspx?b=F&pn=PH2849A I'll look up some more tomorrow, going to bed, and I'll copy this to parts and pieces, too. I had to pull my engine, again, because I had a bad seal between the pan and the engine. What I found out is that you don't tighten the bolts when not using a gasket and just silicone, you run the bolts in until you see silicone start to squeeze out and stop, wait for an hour and then tighten another 1/4 turn, that's the instructions, what I did was put silicone all the way around the pan, then drag the threads of a 1" bolt through the silicone to make grooves and let it cure completely, next day, I added more silicone filling up the grooves and mounted it and tightened it down, but not overly tight, but enough to see silicone squeeze out. We'll see how that works. Kinarfi
  12. If you do, stay away from the Tygon and ether style hoses, they can't handle the pressure, stay with the rubber reinforce regular fuel lines. First hand experience here, my tygon swelled and leaked right at the host clamp. Kinarfi
  13. I've been running Fram oil filters and I tried to see if the one I had for my wifes Toyota would fit, NO! so I decided to look up the specs, thread size, and ran into a bunch of oil filter utube shows that made me wonder what was the best, what are you guys running? I think I'm switching over to Napa Gold #1348. Kinarfi
  14. Here's some stuff I found on Google, but also of concern is the offset, it's on this forum somewhere and if someone will provide it, I'll put that information in parts & pieces. 15. My vote for important upgrades is get the air filter out where it doesn't have to eat dust and put a k&n on it. Had to rering mine with only about 3000 Kilometers on it because of it's location and bad air. If you get a chance to go to the jamboree in June, and need place to camp, I have a nice back yard. Kinarfi
  16. I tried looking up sand flats on my mapping system and found a couple of them, all miles from Moab, got any gps info on sand flats? Kinarfi
  17. I was thinking, since you have to have tail lights on your trailer, maybe some method can be rigged so that you turn your tail lights on, then you have a switch that steals the power from the lights and runs a motor to run the winch up and down. It would be simple electrically, but finding a light weight power winch could be difficult. Any one out there know of such a thing? Kinarfi
  18. 1st of 4
  19. You'l love the way I fixed mine, being handicapped, it was a must, It's simple and works great and I built it my self for under $100.00, and no, it's not let the wife do it!!!! I'll take some pictures of and post them tomorrow. I got a winch like what you pull a boat onto it's trailer and added a bar with a pulley at the top to give the winch the mechanical advantage to lift the gate. Simple, no stooping to get the ramp, worst part is the time it takes, but only compared to that of a healthy 30 year old, but I'm 60+ and have the time, not the flexibility. PS, almost missed this request because it wasn't on the joyner page.
  20. Recently helped 66fastcarss with his Trooper and I drilled and tapped the tops of the ball joints for zerks, on mine I did the same and welded the tops back on. When I greased them, the grease would ooze out the top. On 66fastcarss', I used JB Weld and made sure I used plenty so the threads were well sealed, after it cured, I applied grease and none of it oozed out the top, I think this may be the way to go. Did NOT add any welding as I thought the heat would destroy the epoxy. Kinarfi
  21. be sure to take a break towards the end of June and come to the jamboree The way the weather's been this year, it may just barely be just warm enough for a good time
  22. If you WANT, I can build a vibrator or a flashing light to let you know when your engine is running, I could even have it flash faster as your engine revs up. Maybe even a loud speaker for behind your seat. another Idea is to hang a cow bell on Rocmoc's rig
  23. Yes, I like mine real well, I bet the difference in sound, Lenny, is you have more power than I do from your super charger and such, other wise, they probably would sound the same. and thanks again for it. Kinarfi
  24. Lenny found 2 Harley exhausts and added the brackets for his and mine. PS, got a couple of ball joints ready for you.
