  1. If you would like to have a technical post appear here, post a reference to it and I'll do the technical stuff to get it here. It won't be the whole article, just a reference to take you to the article. 2. Sure, will get it later to day. query: the engine is always producing a vacuum in the intake manifold, when you step on the throttle, the butterfly open and the vacuum diminishes, since the vacuum (if hooked up) would be aiding the spring which is holding the pressure lower, when you open the butterfly and the vacuum diminishes and no longer aids the spring, the pressure rises and thus, more fuel. ----CORRECT?-----
  3. Lenny, can you check this link out, I don't think it's for the kit, I'm finding $136 for shim kits Kinarfi
  4. Thanks Lenny, just added that info the parts and pieces Valves shims are 25mm, Joyner shims start at 2.18 and increase in increments of .02 up to 2.80, The Honda shims come out of CB450s and GL1100s, start at 2.30 and increase in increments of .05 http://www.mawonline...gle/P137630.HTM http://stores.ebay.c...&_sid=120606839 kinarfi
  5. Monarch Honda motorcycle Orem. Let me know what you need and I can pick them up for you and mail them. If you like, I can give them a call tomorrow, or you can and you'll have the information first hand. Monarch Honda Powerhouse 398 West 800 North Orem, UT 84057-3860 (801) 224-4070 kinarfi
  6. one step at a time, step 1, Put more gas in the tank just to be absolutely sure, step 2, add air pressure to the tank and see if it blows through the filter, step 3, see if you can blow fuel to the pump, step 4, see if you can blow fuel through the pump, step 5, power the pump up and pump it into something to catch it. step 6, see how much pressure you have, You should probably running about now,
  7. Being as you're getting 0 on the regulator, follow Lenny's advice about a few pounds pressure into the tank and disconnecting the line into the regulator, but I suggest no power until you see some gas come out of the regulator hose, the gas is also the lubricant for the fuel pump, as it flows through the inside of the pump. If you don't get any gas through the line, see if you get it through the filter, if not there, see if you're getting gas to the filter. I also recommend moving the pump so it is behind the passenger seat. here's what I did, just don't us that polyuerathane, tygon tubing on the pressure side of the pump, it eventually swells and leaks at the fittings. I also suggest a surge tank so your engine does't run out of gas on the down hills. Kinarfi
  8. Not sure, but I think the odometer is in the computer, so when you get it working, you may have your mileage, unless your problem is that you're not getting a signal from the transmission. I have 7025.1 Kilometers Kinarfi
  9. Here's something else to do to get ready for the Jamboree, If you have those FRS radios, put them in the Trooper tonight so it's done and you don't forget,
  10. http://stateparks.utah.gov/ohv/out-of-state-registration Here's all the rules & regulations, Oregon is reciprocal with Utah, If you don't have an Oregon sticker, you'll need an out of state Utah sticker, it can be purchased on line. Hope this gives you all the info you need. Kinarfi
  11. I don't think so, I doubt we'll even see any officials, but I'll check, are you stickered or licensed there, if yes, I'm sure it's valid here.
  12. Lenny's statement needs correction, Both sites are dry camping and not maintained by state or anyone else, no facilities, the one by the highway has on small plateau hill kind of in the middle. The one down the road about a mile & a half has red rocks that you can camp up against for wind protection and has some outcroppings to separate camps somewhat. I now understand why Lenny's been so against the second site. He thought it was developed, it's not and I don't believe either will have very many people except for us. The first site is a bit flatter than the second, but not by much. I recommend stopping at the first site, unload the Trooper and go look at the second and see what you think, I like the second site, but I am the only one of us who has seen both. Both sites --- If you don't already know this, each photo can be enlarged by clicking on the "full size" button and then more by just clicking on the picture with the + button Just off the highway Down the road a mile & 1/2 This is one of my to be explored routes, should be cooler as it gets higher and into the trees, I believe from the maps. Kinarfi
  13. I agree with Lenny that any automotive antifreeze will do the job, but I have always believed in the 50-50 mix with distilled water, I usually use Prestone. Kinarfi
  14. Yes, Hanksville is the closest town for food and or gas, While we were camped, Lenny & I both drove on the highway, not very much traffic and there are side trails also, So once unloaded, you are good for the duration.
  15. Changed the drawing a little, it now shows the present camp site location choice and where Lenny & parked the first day, prior to finding the present camp site choice has be X'ed out, it wasn't very friendly to big rigs anyway. Every thing in this area is dry camping with no toilets or services. Kinarfi
  16. Don't think I would really call this an itinerary, but here's some pictures of what I have in mind for some rides. this is a must>>>><<<this is a must I'm not sure which one to go on first, the trail to Dirty Devil should be done on the 2nd day, IMHO, just to make sure late comers get to see it. I think I'll explore on my first day, and go up to the mountain. Kinarfi Like I keep saying, it's up to us all. Still haven't got a good list of who's coming. Come on, speak up with a yes or a no, or a maybe or probably.
  17. I sure don't like it when I type up a post and forget to submit it, must be aaads(age activated attention deficit syndrome), I didn't even think to check my phone, I kind of forgot how much some people depend on their phones and communications. Sorry! Yes, I will doctor up some of my saved trails and post, maybe get it done and up later today. I too will most likely be there on the 23rd, that way I can get the parking spot that has all the grass and the running water with a pool ha, it's a desert. Kinarfi
  18. Are you trying to get a rise , first, no one should have much trouble keeping up with me, My engine is still stock and I don't get radical very often. Second, I may qualify for senior discounts , but that just says I made to 55 with killing myself, although I came really, really close, twice, so far, but dinosaur? I'm retired because of injuries, not age. Third, I'm working on my Honey Dearest Sweet Heart (a little buttering up here)(but all TRUE) to let me be a 2011 driver so I can start over with the modifications, I had so much fun the first time, I want to do it again. Kinarfi
  19. Being as no one is really the "Boss" of this shin dig, The current spot is just off of high way 24, 20 miles south of Hanksville, Utah, as voted on earlier, however, after looking that area over, my preference would be to move it down the dirt road about 1.8 miles or; Up the road about 40 miles to the Temple Mountain area, It's up to the group that plan on going to say, so I guess we're all waiting for input from everyone that plans on going to add their comments. Also We can find out who's coming and who's not, So please, let's hear from every one either way. Kinarfi
  20. To use the GPX files, you need to download the files, I recommend storing on the your desktop, then after they are all stored, open google earth and "restore down" so you can see both google earth and your desktop files, then click and drag the file over the map and release, it will ask a question, click ok and it will then put a blue line for the trail. As for motor home friendly, the road is paved to Temple camp 1 and about half way to camp 2, but still good road, and there are lots of sites just any where you please almost. Kinarfi
  21. Here's my report from several days around Hanksville, Utah. Staring with the first photo after the error, , to the one before the 2nd error, , is from the Poison Spider area, From the 2nd error, , on is from the Temple Mountain area. Some of my video wouldn't go on webshots, so I put them on Utube. http://www.youtube.com/user/heystraw1 http://www.youtube.com/user/heystraw1#p/u/6/-_F7A6BSWso http://www.youtube.com/user/heystraw1#p/u/5/2AkEr-yu19M http://www.youtube.com/user/heystraw1#p/u/4/e9I4qow73wo http://www.youtube.com/user/heystraw1#p/u/3/XMT3nRORDu4 http://www.youtube.com/user/heystraw1#p/u/2/tL43RRDje4U http://www.youtube.com/user/heystraw1#p/u/1/IZkch2SFJWU http://www.youtube.com/user/heystraw1#p/u/0/vZC4e4WaCKo Any way, here's what I wrote up while down there, but couldn't post. 4-30-11 On the way Poison Spider, we stopped at Temple Mountain and took a short ride, good riding area, BLM, south of Goblin Valley State Park, 2 large camp grounds with toilets and lots of individual camp grounds without. Next day, I was at Poison Spider and Linda & I went down to and crossed the Dirty Devil River, later that day, we went exploring places I hadn’t been yet and it was much like what I had seen before in that area, I started out on what ended up being a fire road headed to the top of the mountain and when I got the FAA airstrip, we were getting cold and turned it around and headed for the camper, the road crossed one of the places I had marked to explore, so we went to the camper via that trail, even though it was cold and windy. When we got to the camper, it continued to get colder and windier and it stayed that way all night. I had already come up with some suggestions for the jamboree. I have several minor suggestions and one MAJOR suggestion. #1 Minor; The already designated camp site, , needs to be moved down past Little Egypt, 1.8 miles and to the left,, just a lot prettier & nicer camping area and not as open as the original spot. #2 Minor; Go see Poison Spider Trail down to the Dirty Devil River, but don’t bother to cross it, it appears the road is maintained by or for cattlemen so they can drive their 2 ton dually trucks and pull 4 horse horsetrailers safely and easily and the road goes on and on and on and…..and there is NO place to get off and play. http://entertainment.webshots.com/video/3075315200104282158riafPo Notice how nice the road is. #3MAJOR; forget about Poison Spider; let’s have the jamboree at Temple Mountain!!!! If you’re coming past Poison Spider, stop and go down to the river, turn around, explore a few side canyons on your way in and/or out, then load up and head for Temple Mountain. Honest to goodness mine roads, great scenery, lots of trails, some harder than other, some sand / gravel washes, some fire roads, and better camp grounds and they are maintained by BLM and there is NO fee and have toilets. or As for ME, I’ve seen all I want of Poison Spider. There’s still lots to see at Temple Mountain. If a change of location is to happen, you will have to chime in and cast your vote via individual post. I will email everyone I have in my address book a bunch of GPX files to down load and look at on Google earth or what ever you like, If I miss you, PM me. Kinarfi
  22. Start with , the first after the error on page 1 to the error on page 2 are from the poison spider area, after the error on page 2 is of the Temple Mountain area. I'll get my recommendations posted tomorrow. Already been working on this for hours & hours.
  23. Here's where that set screw goes, if it's out, park the Trooper IMMEDIATELY and pull the diff or you may(probably) end up with what I did. Look at the rest of the photo in this album. Kinarfi
  24. My wife and I are heading out to do some more exploring of the jamboree area Friday around noon and I'm inviting any one interested to go also. But if I have to, I'll go solo. Also, may take a side trip past goblin valley, past the turn off the park and then to the left and south down the wash. Kinarfi
