  1. From what I was told and later found out as fact, the ring and pinion for the front and rear are reversed from each other, so put the rear diff in the front and front in the rear. Here's a link to a bunch of photos. http://news.webshots.com/album/573862217qXWwgb http://travel.webshots.com/album/572841867xLhWzo?start=28 Somewhere on this forum, there is a great explanation on why ring and pinion are angled and why the front can't be put in the back and back in the front, but I couldn't find it, but since you're reversing shaft rotation direction, you need to. kinarfi
  2. When I used them in their original position, they lit up the hood and made it more difficult to see out into the distance. When I moved them back, I had the pictured sun screen on and by moving them back, it made it so the hood didn't get lit up so brightly. When I bought my Trooper, I really enjoyed being able to look up at the scenery of canyons, but the pictured sun screen blocked that view, so I have made a retractable screen, but it has gotten cold and I haven't really tested it at speed yet. One of the coolest things I saw was while driving around in the mountains here was a pretty little blue Martin landed on the light bar and just sat their for about 100 yards before it flew off, that was before the sun screen was added or I wouldn't have been able to see it. 3. Hinged the front hood and put a storage box under the hood. 2009 Replaced the rear shocks with FOA shocks, terrific improvement. Guess that was 2009 2010; Lenny & I teamed up to designed and built an electrical power steering assist unit, I still have mine installed and running good. We were going to sell them, but decided that the liability issues were too great. Rebuilt both differential with the stronger bolts, had to replace the rear when the bolt backed out and sheared. Moved the over head lights back to the center of the overhead bars. Flipped the intake manifold upside down. Better cover for the forward part of the dash to keep it clean. Recently installed a retractable sun shield that I'm thinking of selling. Fenders extenders all the way around; had to fix / repair the front fenders when I missed the brakes and ran over some aspen trees breaking them, so I replaced them and just kept going, they are 4 - 5 inches wider than stock and keep the mud and poop off me and out of the seats. Put a thicker single piece of aluminum skid plate under my trooper. In the process of putting a heater in, blower and heat exchanger on the front of the panel below the front of the seats. Put a horn button in the center of my steering wheel. Moved the blinker up onto the dash and replace the stock switch with a bat handle switch. Working on putting a bunch of Bright White LEDs together so I can mount them on the front, under the hood. 2011 Rebuild my engine.
  4. Did you ever get your part, I have the inner CV for the rear, took some photos take a look and see if it's what you need. http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/579321765eFhosT Kinarfi
  5. In my humble opinion, Mine is the very best because it's the one I get to drive, even if it does have problems, It's the one I get to drive. I do like seeing what you other owners come up with, very interesting and some excellent mods. Love them all. Every one should only get one vote, for your own. Kinarfi
  6. More of Quigs rig, 1st of 5.
  7. I had lexan on my plane and found the best way to clean it was with pledge furniture polish, of course, there is not much mud up there to mess up the windshield when flying, The only time I think I ever got dirt all over the windshield was when I crashed and destroyed the plane. After that, I didn't care about windshield. Kinarfi
  8. What are you ordering for a heater? Kinarfi
  9. Just looked at a map of the western states and I can see that Wyoming is a bit more east than most would consider feasible. Guess I'll just have to hook up with someone already up there some day and go see some of my old play grounds one of these days. Already voted, but south of Moab type southern Utah sounds good to me. Hanksville area, but where ever is fine. Kinarfi
  10. I know I'm awfully late, but here's another suggestion along the Idaho suggestion, Killpecker dunes and steamboat mountain north of Rock Springs, WY., east of Farson, WY. Look it up on google earth and explore, I haven't been there for decades, but it was neat place when I rode a CZ and a Husky. Be sure to turn on the pictures that people submit and look at them. Probably too far to go for most. Kinarfi
  11. Sweet, are you going to run gas or inner shield welding wire. I ran gas for quite a while and ran out on a Sunday, so I switched to the inner shield, I think it gives a better penetration because you run more heat, but it is messier because of the inner flux, it's also brighter to look at. On my shocks, FOA sent some spacers that fit up against the shock eye and space the eye in the center of the bracket and & shims that filled the hole and used a standard 1/2" bolt. Kinarfi
  12. Losing my marbles, thought I posted this yesterday, here few of several photos, there are some forward of this one and some after this one. My goal it to keep the mud, dust, poop, and what ever out of the engine compartment and off of me, and the hole in front of the fender is so clean air will be force into the engine compartment. Kinarfi
  13. Rocmoc, looks like you got the poll up and running, I did modify it to allow us to vote for more than one. Kinarfi
  14. Here's a design for a power switch that can be used for powering lights and various things you add to you vehicle. It uses a 74 amp FET, FETs have a gate that when the proper voltage is applied, it turns on with virtually no power consumption, when the gate is tied to it's source, it turns off, again no power consumption, the only power consumption is during transition from on to off or off to on and that is what the heat sink is for. If this is used on a circuit with a coil or motor, it would also need a diode to protect the circuit from inductive kick back. The resistor cost about nickel and the FET is less than $2.00 and the switch only need to be able to handle less than an amp and if some one wants, I could build them for about $5.00 and mail them, you would have to provide the switch and aluminum. I plan to use several of these to replace all my relays when I get around to rewiring my Trooper and moving all the fuses up to in front of the dash. Kinarfi
  15. Got the options manual, thanks, here's what I have in mind to do for a heater, I have 2 cross flow fans used for cooling high power audio amps and 2 heat exchanges for go carts and plan to mount the fan at the top of the panel in front and below the seats so the fan blow down across the heat exchanger so the warm air flows down across the floor and onto my feet and the up the dash. Just need to sort out how to mount it all, the heater hose will be out of sight under the seats, should have room in front of the gas tank too. Lenny, take a look at the red heat exchanger, how hard would it be to cut grooves like that in a piece of billet aluminum that was 2" or 2 1/2" X 4" X 8" with the coolant flow through the 8" length and the fins left square, maybe the next size larger hole, these have a 1/2" hole through them. Kinarfi
  16. Photos quig, you're allowed to do things like that and not share photos, Kinarfi Just looked at what I posted, guess I better get busy and take some photos too.
  17. Has anyone already installed a heater in their Trooper, where is the best place to tap into the engines coolant flow. How do you do it? Got any photos? Thanks Kinarfi
  18. I received a PM from http://www.klung-motor.com/ saying they had parts, any one know anything about them? Kinarfi hi,Sir, How are you ? 19. If you happen to be thinking of going with LED tail light and no amber lights while your at it, here's a link to a circuit I used on my red only tail lights and the circuit is so small, it can be glued to each of the tail lights. There is one for transistor and one for FETs. I also saw one for the high mounted center brake light if you want that also. Kinarfi
  20. I saw a dimmer circuit for LEDs on another forum, http://www.electro-tech-online.com/, if you're interested I'll look it up for you. But then it's just one more thing to mess with and probably not worth the time & effort, unless you drive quite a bit at night. Also, I put my turn switch up higher on my dash and used a on off on bat handle switch, warning, use dirt & water proof switch. Kinarfi
  21. When it comes to lug nuts, I AM NOT DONE UNTIL I TORQUE EACH ONE WITH MY TORQUE WRENCH, 100 FT LB. + OR - Have your read this lately? Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. I have recently been diagnosed with Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder (AAADD). This is how it goes ... I decide to wash the car, start toward the garage and notice the mail on the table. OK, I'm going to wash the car... BUT FIRST I'm going to go through the mail. Lay car keys down on desk. After discarding the junk mail, I notice the trash can is full. OK, I'll just put the bills on my desk.... BUT FIRST I'll take the trash out, but since I'm going to be near the mailbox, I'll address a few bills.... Yes, Now where is the checkbook? Oops... there's only one check left. Where did I put the extra checks? Oh, there's my empty plastic cup from last night on my desk. I'm going to look for those checks... BUT FIRST I need to put the cup back in the kitchen. I head for the kitchen, look out the window, notice the flowers need a drink of water, I put the cup on the counter and there's my extra pair of glasses on the kitchen counter. What are they doing here? I'll just put them away... BUT FIRST need to water those plants. I head for the door and... Aaaagh! Someone left the TV remote in the wrong spot. Okay, I'll put the remote away and water the plants... BUT FIRST I need to find those checks. END OF DAY: car not washed, bills still unpaid, cup still in the sink, checkbook still has only one check left, lost my car keys; and, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm baffled because... I KNOW I WAS BUSY ALL DAY! I realize this condition is serious... I'd get help... BUT FIRST... I think I'll check my e-mail! And having gremlins in the garage doesn't help either!!!! But at least I am amused the games they play with me, it's be amused or get pissed off and that wastes time and energy Kinarfi
  22. Quig & I decided to celebrate Thanks Givings' Black Friday by getting us some new 4 wheelers, Here a picture of me trying it out in the back yard. Quig Sent this to me. thanks,
  23. You can be so cruel, here I sit with a heat blanket on my lap and 13 degrees out side. Also have heat blanket on the bed. Kinarfi
  24. I was driving home after Thanksgiving dinner and contemplating how to disassemble my motor to check my piston rings, first pull engine, seal up all the holes and haul it down to the car wash and remove every speck of dirt and oil, sterilize a bed sheet and the table and then lay the motor down and start tearing it all apart. Then it occurred to me, do I even need to pull the head off, can't I just pull the pan, undo the connecting rod and pull the piston out the bottom past the crank shaft? Do you know Lenny? being as you have already been inside your motor. Another question, while looking at the owner's manual about how to take the engine apart and put it back together, is showed some mark and referred to them as forward on the piston and connecting rod. On most vehicles, forward is the radiator end of the motor, but our radiator is at the back, sooooo is forward forward of backward? Thanks, Kinarfi P. S. No charge to anyone that wants to come help and learn how to do this so you'll know when it's your turn
  25. In my case, I made a new one out of rubberized cork gasket material, also drilled on extra hole and put a 1/4-20 bolt and nut in the middle of the manifold. Take a look at the whole series of photos and you'll see the new gasket material and the nut and bolt, I did not put the two outside bolts in, it would take some special brackets to do that. In case your not familiar with Webshots, above and to the right of the photo is a thumbnail of the next and previous picture, click on next to see the rest of them one at a time or find the slide show button under the photo.
