  2. Hi josephb, Not sure about the problem, but I think the fuel pressure should be higher. Also you ought to fill out your profile so we can all get to know you better, Who knows, you may live around the block from someone who can help. Kinarfi
  3. Just trying to figure out how to manipulate threads and posts, so I merged starting problem threads. Hope nobody minds. kinarfi
  4. moved the quoted from deleted thread
  5. Kimpsy, here's a few more photos of the manifold flip. Start with this one and work you way to the end. Kinarfi
  6. Closing this thread, I hope every got all the photos attached and every said. Now for planning the next one. Started new thread and pinned it, The next Jamboree - Get Together - UTV BOARD - Side X Side and UTV Forum Make any suggestion you want for consideration of when & where. and when not or where not.
  7. If you know you are going for a ride a day or two in advance and would like to invite others to go along, add a post with details. After you've been on your ride, Delete your post.
  8. They have a few problems, but I like mine a lot, rides 2 up front comfortably, will go almost anywhere, if you have read this forum, you know just about every thing there is to know and most of the fixes. As far as kid seats on the back, under the tire, I don't think there is a ready made set up, you could look at some steel folding chairs and weld all the joints and add seat belts or look at the original seats and make smaller copies of them. I'm 6' 4" and crippled and thoroughly enjoy my T2, after it starts , and can't think of any thing that could replace it except for maybe an old Willy's Jeep. The advantage there is it can be licensed for any road in Utah or the U.S. Can you fill out your profile so we can all get to know you better. Kinarfi
  9. Don't see the need to change the throttle body and I think it would be difficult because of the throttle cable set up. I think the bolt pattern is a square, so the body can be put any way you want, but the throttle cable fixed point would have to be redone. It was actually pretty easy to do. I drilled tree holes in the steel part and made a cork/rubber gasket gasket and I think that should seal it. I'll take another photo of the bolt up and post it for you. I really like it this way, so far. kinarfi
  10. Took couple more photos today of my modification to the intake system that has to do with my starting problem which hasn't gone away yet!! First the photos, Notice it is all the original parts & pieces except for the K&N air filter. Now, what I have done for the for my starting problem is I pulled the computer and checked the inputs for the TMAP, the TPS, the Eng. Coolant Temperature Sensor, both O2 sensors, looked at all the connectors, put silicone grease on a couple of plugs, changed my snorkel set up and put it all back together and tried to start it, same old crap. I think I'll give up on the easy first start, after the first start, it seems good. Maybe it'll fix itself somehow after driving it for a while. I can hope anyway. Kinarfi
  11. Here's my photos, About the way the ECU and the IAC work, IMHO, is that the ECU learns where everything is, either at start up or shut down, and remembers, then when you start up, it positions the IAC and and adjusts the amount of fuel accordingly. If mine doesn't work properly today, I'll have to check all the connections because I believe the IAC is working properly and the ECU is may not be getting the information it needs to do it's job correctly. So far, I really like this change, I keeps stuff up high where it should get so dirty with oil leaks for the shock or engine and it's away for the dirt and water (MUD) splashed by the wheels. Kinarfi
  12. Get a Rhino?????? OOOOOOOH you're gonna loose your super moderator status on the joyner forum for that, but I still like you Kinarfi
  13. Did you mean Coral Pink Sand Dunes, what year are you thinking for the later months? Looking at those date -end of- I'd have to guess that you're going Going Camping all the Time, Trooper driving Help group. Remember, we're here for you when you need us!! kinarfi
  14. I was talking to a friend of mine about riding and he suggested that the area west of Blanding Utah might be good, said some of it was quite isolated/remote and should be traveled with multiple vehicle in case you have a problem. It's south of Moab and there are some famous places there like News Paper Rock and Kane Creek which I went down and got stuck on and would do it again in a heart beat, very enjoyable!!! I plan on going there in the next month or so just to see what's there, if anyone's interested in going too, let me know. Kinarf
  15. I got a few photos to post, but the camera is down stairs and it will wait till tomorrow. I flipped the manifold, cleaned every thing, put it back together, replaced the starter, did a little rewiring and disassembled the IAC, probably more than I should, got photos of it also, but I got back together and I still couldn't get it to collapse, so I installed it but didn't tighten the screws down, just snugged them, turned the key on, let it cycle, turned key off, re-snug the screws, repeat until screws were tight, looked it all over again and tried to start it. The new starter sounded way different, faster maybe, but different, but it didn't start by itself, recycled, stepped on clutch, still didn't start by it self so I added some throttle and it almost started, recycled and tried starter twice with no throttle, did it again with a little throttle and it started, yay!!! I'll try it again tomorrow and see what happens, I did take it for a ride and the intake noise was different too. Kinarfi
  16. I took the throttle body off and turned the key on and watched the IAC to see if it was moving and it is NOT, didn't go to the start position. I'm also turning the aluminum part of the intake manifold up side down so the throttle body is forward and above the engine. I would post some photos, but my wife took the camera with her to see our son. Is there any way to test these things? It has 51 ohm between the two out side pins and same for the two middle pins. Does anyone have an IAC I can buy, beg, borrow or steal? Guess stealing might not work. How much are they? Kinarfi
  17. Here's an observation that may need to be considered; there is very little rock crawling type stuff in the forest, usually, however, if we came all the way up to American Fork, Utah and went up Mineral Basin, there's lots of rocks but not the hard climbs, start here and work backwards Just a comment and possibity. Kinarfi
  18. yes, yes, NO! mud, let's keep it clean, sort of, Maybe even some forest and trees this time. kinarfi
  19. Unpinned so it can fade into history, when and where is the next one, who's in charge this time? Kinarfi
  20. Got it in and working, but now the winch in/out switch is sticking and that could ruin the day, so I got to fix that, will probably just replace the switches locally available toggle switches, maybe even relocated them and LED lites. Kinarfi
  21. Power Steering unit report after New Mexico Jamboree Mine worked very well, If had to report a problem, It would be that at the end of travel you still can manually turn the steering wheel another ~5 Degrees with out any assist. That's not the problem, the problem is coming out of that unassisted area of the turn, it tends to resist some, not bad but slightly noticeable. It provided the power and speed to handle any of the turns in any of the terrains I drove, was rock solid on the fast and straight, the stabilizing effect works great at keeping it going straight and if turned, continues to hold the turn but does return to straight slowly when in 4x4 and Lockers and prevented the bump steers that busts your thumb if you have it on the inside of the steering wheel, I felt completely comfortable with my hands wrapped all the way around the steering wheel, even in the roughest stuff. Got to drive Lenny's unit for a while and liked it very much too. You have to understand that Lenny's is very modified and therefore not necessarily applicable to the stock Trooper. His uses the speed controller from scooter drive which only goes in one direction with reversing relays to get both directions. It seemed to work very well and the computer in it takes about 10 - 15 seconds to cycle up, but tells you if and what problems it is having. I think it may have some advantages to my design and I am considering getting another so I can make one designed around the Trooper and the motor we use for it which is much more power than the one on Lenny's, but Lenny's has a much lower gear ration. I'm very happy with mine and when you consider that my plane crash left me with a 3rd degree shoulder separation on the Left and the Right shoulder has been replaced with an artificial joint and that I can drive all day and my butt is probably the sorest thing on me at the end of the day, I'd say I have really good unit. Our worse fear is that if we sell one and the new owner screws something up, drives through a puddle or stream right next to the cliff and then drives over the cliff and dies, are we going to get blamed for the death and sued for all we have or will have. Kinarfi
  22. You may be correct, but what fun would that be? at least for me, took it apart, pulled a few components, took photos, cleaned, reassembled and it works, so I sealed it up with silicone and right now the silicone is curing. Seems it must have leaked some water in and corroded and the corrosion was side tracking the signal to go to 2 wheel drive. Kinarfi
  23. My 4 wheel drive actuator has now failed also, took it apart and noticed that it has Artic Cat 4 WD OD Rev. A written on one end of it. Must have gotten some water in the box because there is rust on the motor and corrosion on the circuit board. Plan to figure out the schematic and repair it, so if any one has a dead unit laying around that I can borrow or have to help me figure this thing out, let me know, I may just up and rebuild it to my specs. Kinarfi
  24. Wow, hate to lose you as a Trooper Driver, Hope you'll still follow along continue to be one us. Also hope to see you in Marysvale this summer. Kinarfi
  25. On the way home, stopped at the top of Kane Creek out of Moab and went down the trail, coming out, I got stuck on some rocks. I'm rather proud of the winch attach point I found. I think I would have waited a day or so before anyone came along. The only other possible winch points were big rocks above the trail and they may have pulled down blocking the trail even more, or worse yet, slid down and pushed me over the edge. Another comment about the winch, used it once before and was not impressed, had a nearly full spool the first time and an empty spool this time, gave the winch about 3 or 4 time the pulling power with the empty spool.
