  1. can you post the coordinates for the Dry Camp Location and some of other anticipated places to go to. Thanks, Kinarfi
  2. ricksrb, When I read this thread earlier, I almost answered that the muffler was a Super Trap as in the 10th photo. Hope that's not what you were asking about, but if so, ask again. Kinarfi
  3. I didn't like the idea that the fuel pump could and does add particulates to the fuel flow from the brushes in the motor which is cooled by the flow of fuel past the inside of the motor, so I moved the fuel filter to after the pump and use the big line for pulling fuel from my surge tank. I can put any filter I want on it that has the 1/4 or 5/16 out let and inlet. Kinarfi Thanks Rocmoc for moving this off the sticky, added you supplier.
  4. I like my DeLorme real well, I save the each trail so I know where I've been and can go back and see if I missed any thing. I can also export it to a file that can be uploaded onto google earth and zoom in on the map. Kinarfe
  5. I'm no mechanic, but I had to work on my front end once and don't take much of anything out to be fix if there's a chance I can figure it out. Take a look at what I came up with at http://www.utvboard.com/index.php?s=&s...post&p=2537 kinarfi
  6. With the drive line locked in park, be sure to consider the spider gears. Don't know about the rest.
  7. When I pulled my rear wheel some time back, I borrowed a set of impact sockets from Checker Auto that had the correct size, they sold them to me and bought them back when I returned them, they were 1/2 drives + breaker bar + 5 feet of aluminum pipe = tight.
  8. DOM Tubing?????? What does DOM stand for?
  9. Just how much wind up do you think you could get at worst case scenario, for instance, If you got a 45 degree wind up, 1/8 of a turn, divided by the differential ratio, 3.++ if I remember right, then figure out how many inches of tire roll the could be, and the flex in the tire, is it worth worrying about?? My guess, and it's only a guess, is that any more a few degrees of actually wind up would result in a drive line failure. kinarfi
  10. What I meant was that if you spin it and it vibrates the machinery, it's out of balance, if smooth, it may be ok
  11. Lenny, after your done, put it in your lathe and spin it slowly watching to see if it needs balancing. kinarfi
  12. Read the pinned parts, pieces and information at the beginning, several links and info http://www.utvboard.com/index.php?s=&s...dpost&p=475 kinarfi
  13. After you get the two parts of the drive shaft that slide together you'll need to pin them so they can't collapse any at all, a circlip wouldn't work because if you bump something, the weight of the drive shaft could cause the circlip to let it slide back and disengage. You could use splines or even round tube inside round tube and pinned into place. Take a look at how long drive shafts in cars and truck are. A larger diameter of thinner steel may save some weight and still have the strength needed and if the alignment is proper you could use industrial motor coupling instead of U joints or even just the splines. Just another thought Kinarfi
  14. Got a request for anyone able to drive their Trooper, It's too cold for me, or I may just jack up the rear end and spin the wheels if no one can help. If you have a digital volt meter that will measure frequency, hook it to you speedo and report back what the frequency is at what speed. I'm considering another variation for the power steering control, one that would drop out the controls above a predetermined speed, leaving the motor and gears to act as a steering dampener. Should be getting some of the final parts needed in tomorrow to order printed circuit boards. It's looking real good, I'm sure you'll like it. Thanks in advance, Kinarfi
  15. Post a photo, I tried to find one I had taken but couldn't, I'm thinking mine is a single with just the carrier bearing, but I'm probably wrong and will verify & photo later when I get moving. Kinarfi
  16. One suggestion about fuel lines, I used that clear, Tygon or POLYURETHANE, Ether, or whatever it's called, and found that it has a problem with the pressures on the Trooper, I had it develop a very small leak past the clamp where the screw type clamp overlaps itself. I think it would be wise to stay with the reinforced black rubber fuel line. Kinarfi
  17. Welcome to the forum Ricksrb, would you please fill out your profile so we can get to know you a little better, look forward to your posts. Kinarfi.
  18. My valve cover vent vent the a separator and vented through a filter to atmosphere and the oil drained to the pan. , there was a smaller tube that went the the intake manifold, to draw of any pressure. My self, I would be leery of use aluminum dryer vent tubing, I think it will crack and break and mash in short order. kinarfi
  19. My opinion is yes, I have a lever to hold the throttle, because of my leg disabilities, and it doesn't hold a constant RPM either, never worried about enough to figure out why, yet. I am building a cruise control for mine so I can set it at 2500 or so and let the controller hold the throttle relatively constant went going up a rough hill, usually I end up full throttle because I can work my feet very well. The problem with the lever is that as I go uphill, I need more, and as I go down hill I need less. kinarfi.
  20. http://www.utvboard.com/Parts-Pieces-Informat-t392.html Mike, go here and read and down load some of the info, if you want, but just know it here for you, specifically some of the manuals and parts manual with part numbers or you can down load the latest from Joyner's site. kinarfi
  21. That does look pretty good, and like something that could be done pretty easily, I would just worry about the getting wider, damaged some mirror and broke a fender so far, I'm sure I would have stripped the wider fenders right off. Kinarfi
  22. Wow that is interesting, can you take another close up photo of the bent part of the shock, in your photos, I can see where the end came out and that would have allowed a misalignment of everything and cause it to bend. Ick Kinarfi
  23. Welcome, and like Lenny said, that's exactly a problem I had, but only happens going down hill and depending on how steep, less than full, the fuel out lets are in the rear of your gas tank and they uncover depending on amount and angle of hill and the pump runs dry real quick and it takes a while to purge the air once full of air. I personally believe my fix is the easiest, it's a surge tank that the main pump pulls from and returns to with a secondary low pressure pump to keep it full, I put a set of switches on mine to turn the pump on and off instead of letting it run all the time. go to this post, it's about half way through the thread and show what I did. http://www.utvboard.com/index.php?s=&s...post&p=2762 Again Welcome to the forum and nice looking rig, hope to see in person at the next jamboree. 25. I change all my fuses over to the style that has a light in it which lites up when it blows. You know it's dead at a glance.
