When did you have your problem, or you having it right now? Where you buy yours? Kinarfi

Sound Like I have the same problem, all the bolts are sheared, the safety wire is strewn through out the diff and the inside is broken. If I don't get one via warranty, any one know of any others, or have any ideas that might help? Don't think I'll be going anywhere for some time.$$$$$$

TROOPER GENERAL COMMENTS & QUESTIONS, VARIED SUBJECT LINES

Took it to show my dealer, and took a few more photos, If I rebuild it, I figure new bearings, seals, housing, the works. Hope Joyner will cover it. We'll see. While over at the dealers, I took a few photos of the new tires he had put on, 29X11X14, go Full Size and read the side of the tire, 7 PSI max pressure. -

TROOPER GENERAL COMMENTS & QUESTIONS, VARIED SUBJECT LINES
Kinarfi replied to brostar's topic in Joyner UTV SxS Forum
We were only about 4 miles from pavement and near good roads, but I don't walk so well so as little as a mile could be bad for me. Yay for carrying a SPOT.Well I started to do my checking and disassembling and the first thing I noticed was an almost flat tire, AArrg Then I looked at my steering assist and it worked and looked OK, then I got into looking at the differential, with lots of trepidations about getting the CVs loose, turned out not too tough, the method I used was pry, rotate, pry, rotate, etc. and then POP, it was loose. Got the diff out and cleaned up a little and opened it up, All the bolt were sheared and worn badly on one side and the safety wires broken. Doesn't look to expensive of repair, Left it in a pan to drain the oil overnight & will continue tomorrow. Any suggestions as what should be done next or just take it apart & put it back together. TROOPER GENERAL COMMENTS & QUESTIONS, VARIED SUBJECT LINES

Went for a ride yesterday, broke something, no power to rear wheels, suspect differential. Here's a file for Google earth of where I went. May have damaged my power steering, I definitely needs end of travel stops or, as I am working on, a sensor for high current that opens the circuit until you release the wheel or turn it back the other way, and I think I have it. My aches and pains have subsided and now at about 4 the next day, it time to go look at my damages. First of 7, tried to get enough vehicle in the photo to show how steep things were, after I got off the hill, I kept hearing a squealing sound and after I got down to a place where it was convenient to see what was stuck up under my rig, NOTHING, I started out again and notice the front wheels spinning like the rears weren't helping, they weren't! but the squealing was gone, I did hear something just before I stopped and commented "that didn't sound good" to my wife. It will depend on where you go, you can't go in the park there even with plates, I checked that out myself, but there is a lot of area down there. Kinarfi

I assume your talking about Currant Creek, there are some beautiful trails up there and some closed to atv road also, I got my trooper licensed and plan to go up there several time this year. It's just beautiful and green and cool and mountains, but you need to respect the land so we don't get the boot. Kinarfi

TROOPER GENERAL COMMENTS & QUESTIONS, VARIED SUBJECT LINES

Does any one know any thing about strain gauges, I'm thinking of using one on the steering shaft to interface with the electric power steering. Thanks, Kinarfi -
I started with Arizona Riding a long time ago and left because all it seemed to be was a Joyner bash place and lots of useless arguing which is part of the reason I delete useless arguments here and push hard to keep things friendly and pleasant. I also check JoynerForum.com occasionally.

Sent a link of the photos we took to my dealer, Apex Motor Sport, http://good-times.webshots.com/album/570789060EcJRYS, and he asked permission to send to Team Joyner and use parts in the web page he's developing, I said OK. Cool now I'm going to be famous. Kinarfi

I personally had a great time, but I think it's time to unpin this one and let it slide on down as interest wanes. Kinarfi

I didn't think Showa had any problems and mine were self induced, need to fix the gas line and plug the hole I drilled in the tank a bit better, my gas line developed a small leak at the dunes. The solder joint started failing while on the Paiute Trail area, so I turned it off and found that the additional resistance of the gear train and motor (not shorted) act like a steering stabilizer similar to a shock absorber on the tie rod, so it's a good thing even when not powered up. . Got some new ideas for the circuit and for the use of micro switches for a less bulky set up.

OOOOh That Sux Do you think I should come down and take your place in the group? Really sorry that you had to cut the ride short. Looking forward to your pictures!! Kinarfi

My Power steering did excellent at Logandale, but started giving me a few problems when I got to the the dunes, turned out to be a bad solder joint. so now I have to get to work on the electronic some more.

Had a great time, met some really great people and saw some great scenery! After the rides and visiting and fun, I headed for the Little Sahara Sand Dunes and Cherry Creek, but it got late so we stopped by my sister in law's place near Richfield for the night and the next morning, went for a ride in the Paiute Trails area and then went to the dunes, so that's why I have some kind of off subject photos, but it was all part of the a great trip. We ended up with 5 couples, no dealers, no Team Joyner , Just good folk. Saw rock climbing that inspired me to follow and it turned out not to be that hard, but in other places, I used better judgment Saw some beautiful desert scenery and lots and lots of Red Rocks, some petroglyphs, plants, very few animals. As for the next get together, looking forward to it, but I'm hoping for something a little less south, say the Paiute Trails. By the time I got home, I was pretty much wasted and just put every thing away haven't looked at it yet. The steering started messing up so I turned it off and realize that it works like a steering dampener, like mounting a shock absorber to the tie rod. It adds some resistance but is still completely functional. When I determine what was going wrong, I'll post it. Another addition was my cruise control, I put it on for rock crawling so I could set the RPM to ~3000 and let it climb, but it didn't work very well in 1st gear, 2nd was sort of OK, 3rd, 4th and 5th works great and quite enjoyable, remember, I have a handicap so it may not be of any use to others, but I like it! I changed my fuel line from pump to regulator from rubber to Polyurethane Ether Tubing and it seems that I'm very close to it's max pressure handling ability, sprung a tiny leak that sprayed gas all over and nearly ran me out of gas, had to cut the last inch off and reclamp, will be securing it and clamping it with aircraft safety wire from now on, 2 or 3 on each fitting. Thanks for the pie, George and Cinda, ate it at the dunes, gooooood. I'm really happy to have met everyone, Paiute 3, Showa, and Rocmoc, already met Lenny, Great people!!!!! Photos and Videos start with this one Enjoy Kinarfi PS I have some .gpx files that can be opened in google earth to show where we went, down load these and then open google earth, then drag and drop the file onto the google screen.

Definitely remove the tie rap, it holds the wire against the radiator and wears through the wire, what it did to me was kill the engine, then it came back so I continued on with my ride, then it blew the fuse and messed up a neat trip at the Paiute Trail area and I had to be towed in, and then blew it again later because it wore through and shorted out, you were probably lucky and shorted a signal wire out instead of the power wire and that messed with the computer. Hope that was the cure to your engine problem and if you have a plastic mount bracket on connector, drill a 1/4" in the radiator support and push the mount tip through the hole. Haven't had a problem with it since. If I can find my photos of the fix, I'll post them. Kinarfi Found 'em Be sure to check the back side of where you drill and if I remember correctly, I had to use a right angle drill because thing were tight there.

For those considering treking onto Moab, it's about 415 miles, and if you want to stay primitive, google earth these coordinates, N38 39 27.0 W109 49 38.0 and then from there you can go down Hey Joe Canyon.

check the wire harness for the O2 sensor where it is tied to the radiator at the top passenger side, it may be such a short duration short that it's not blowing the fuse, Paiute 3 and I both had problems with the way the harness is tyrapped to the radiator bolt.
