I own a place in the mountains of northern Colorado. I want to buy a 4 seat all terrain vehicle to take the grand kids on trails, some which are relatively steep up or down. I don’t know the first thing about UTVs and am looking for helpful suggestions to buy the right one. EXAMPLE: I found a reasonably priced side by side that was a 4x2 and a friend told me I that I would really need a 4x4. I won’t be doing anything crazy but, as I said some of the trails are somewhat steep. Also, I’ll spend what I need to but I’m retired and am trying not to break the bank. Any and all suggestions are much appreciated. t

I'm a neophyte in the side-by-side world and am a bit overwhelmed trying to find a used UTV. I want one that can fit the family of four and possibly two dogs plus camping equipment. We will be traveling slowly and cautiously over fire roads and other gravel roads. Just want something that is reliable and able to traverse the backcountry roads.
