Just got quoted $770 for my Mule's first 50 hour service. Is it just me, or does this seem insanely excessive? I was expecting something in the $350 to $500 range and thinking that even $500 would be a little high. Is dealer service really necessary at 50 hours? At this price I think I'd like to shop around for a mechanic that could do it for half the price. I don't really have the option of shoping around for a cheaper Kawasaki dealer, as there is just this one dealer a reasonable distance away (30 min). The next closest olne is 3 hours away.

so I ponder how to keep the aesthetics of a 1988 mule 1000 and to take a transverse engine from a fwd car and mount it longitudinally behind the seat but forward of the rear differential so as to have awd/4x4. current progress on the power pack and drive train; Honda Civic Type R engine and transmission for the power and as for the suspension it will be Independent - I will be skipping right over multi-link suspension and trailing arm. The main problems I face is cost (as to be expected) ,the finale drive ratios being so high, what differentials to use front and rear, and what suspension would fit. the main goal is to have a fun road legal vehicle but without killing to much utility the side by side was make for!

The cables are sort of seized up on the emergency brake, they still work but i have to wiggle and pull on em to get them to release, i pulled the drum off but cant see a way to remove the cable. It is kind of dirty inside the drum where it was leaking so i need to run to the parts store and buy some parts cleaner so i can see everything better. The shop manual i have does not cover parking brake cable removal, well.... it does kind of. it says "Remove parking brake cable at both ends" 🙄 We'll see EDIT: ARRR! Looks like my rear axle seal is leaking, there is a small puddle on a machined step below the seal and it smells like Trans oil. felt around the wheel cylinder and it isn't coming from their..... I guess my weekend is planned for me LOL

I bought a new Kawasaki Mule pro-MX a few months ago. I've only put 45 miles on it (been using it around my 20 acres) but it has gone through 30 litres which works out around 7mpg (UK). This seems extremely poor, as I've read some people getting about 200 miles to the tank. It's been used occasionally to pull some heavyish loads but mainly chugging around the fields helping with maintenance or giving rides to kids. My fields are flat/grass with no hard terrain anywhere. Does anyone know why the mpg is so bad, and should it improve after its first service?

Moving to upstate NY (just south of Albany). We will have a 1/4 mile gravel drive. I have a 1/2 ton truck that I could use but rather not . Could the Mule SX do this job with the plow accessory? The dealer is on the fence, as am I. Is the Mule SX 4x4 got enough power to deal with a 6-8" inch wet snow? Any experience with the SX and plowing snow?

I have a brand new Mule with less than 20 hours. Every time the weather gets below 10 degrees, the spark plug fouls out and the Mule won’t start. The dealer is aware of the problem, because the first time it happened he came to my farm with a plug and wrench in hand and it started right up. I don’t want to have to replace the spark plug every time it gets below 10 degrees.

Hey guys. Just read in the manual about inspecting the drain cap on the belt drive torque converter for dust and/or water. I got under the mule but the clamp on the drain cap does not seem removeable by hand. Has anyone done this? If so, how do you get the clamp off and how often do you inspect it? Also, since the temps have begun dipping below 40 degrees here I've started noticing a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel. Does something need to be lubed? Sounds like something could be rubbing.

I have a 2010 Kawasaki mule 600 I've ohmed the wires to the voltage regulator and stator and to the ignition switch all read good. Now when I plug up my voltage regulator it gets extremely hot and so does the wires. I've used my volt meter and checked the plug and I'm getting ac out instead of DC out to the battery. I've got 22 volts ac going to the voltage regulator and it's putting out 3 volts ac instead of DC anyone know why or what I need to check

Hi, all, I am here to say i have found an excellent source for kawasaki parts, It's run by Eddie Babbit. It is called Kawasaki Partshouse. run by Babbits online, Muskegon Michigan. http://www.kawasakipartshouse.com/oemparts Just the other day i ordered piston rings, for my Mule 550, They got here and a Oil ring, and smaller ring were missing from the box, Kawasaki took responsibility for the "Accident" and I had also contacted babbits, and they replied and they said" keep the old rings, order a new set and you just pay shipping" so i got $30 piston rings for 8.95!!!? Free shipping on orders over $50!!!

Just purchased a 2020 Pro DX with Yanmar diesel. Had a 2007 3010 Trans Diesel I traded in. My problem is that the new machine is so much noisier than my old one. Has anyone had any luck in quieting down the noise? Sound proofing.?...changing the exhaust routing.?...the muffler? Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.

My community owns a Mule KAF620 MJF. We also have a North Star trailer mounted power washer. Fully loaded (w/water tank) the entire trailer weighs 3600#. Since the Mule has a rated towing capacity of 1200#, we are afraid to tow the trailer fully loaded. Since this unit has plowing capability, I have some difficulty believing that it would damage the unit by towing the 3600# unit short distances on perfectly flat terrain, mostly concrete or asphalt. Can any experienced Mule operators comment on your towing experiences?

good morning, new to this site...got a question......i have a 2015 kaw mule with the soft top enclosure........doors with zipper windows, plastic windshield.........i want to tow the thing on a trailer up to our cabin, about 340 miles of mostly interstate driving......the instructions for the top say "remove for towing or use enclosed trailer"..........removing would be a pain, and i don't have an enclosed trailer..............anyone have another solution?.........how much will it screw it up if i tow as is?.....should i put a plastic tarp over the thing and secure the tarp to the trailer?......any suggestions would be helpful.....thank you in advance

Hi friends, I have a 2009 Kawasaki Mule Trans 4x4 that I have been having trouble with. For a while now, the DFI light will immediately light and the Mule will have loss of power. I'm not sure where to go in my diagnostic process. I have heard that you can access the EFI system's diagnostic codes by switching the 4x4 on and off three times, however, I do not get any blink codes. Do I need to use the Kawasaki Diagnostic Software for this? Really trying to avoid taking it to the dealership. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I recently obtained a 1999 Kawasaki Mule 2510 4x4. While working on, I noticed the rear hub brake grease/dust seals were not there. I ordered and received but have no idea of the installation orientation. Has anyone tackled this or have a sketch/ picture that could help?
