I need a real mechanics input

2014 uxv700i will not start, has fire, checked all sensors voltages, resistances etc,  NO codes showing. Compression 90, manual says 213,  checked valve lash,  did not make a difference

When i turn crankshaft this is what I am seeing, with inspection covers off top.   Exhaust valves open then shut, intake valves open then shut , turn it just a tad more and loud snap, click ? on exhaust valves, i can feel this.

even if timing jumped and i bring to TDC and redo valve lash i should see a correction, but this is not happening

any input greatly !!! appreciated.

Thank you all

Well, i got some feedback from another forum member.

First the clank or snap in exhaust valves is a built in decompression on camshaft

Second per input from member I took off valve cover,  brought flywheel to timing mark, checked camshaft and hash marks, they did not line up horizontally,  appears that engine jumped timing.

Will reset and confirm tomorrow

thanks all

Hi, update !!!  The person who tried to fix this before me when they pulled off flywheel and reassembled did not tighten nut on side of stator case good enough, when i pulled flywheel, the whole inside taper shaft destroyed.  new flywheel on order, no wonder i could not time.  when watching timing mark and piston , the piston was already going back down before timing mark arrived in circle, !

thanks

Ill update when i get flywheel back on and give it another try

learned alot about that decompression on the exhaust valve also.  there is no way you will ever see the 213 psi on compression tester.  this allows pressure to escape at low rpms.  pretty neat setup when you think about it.  when started and rpms increase that little slider goes away and your back to normal compression.  every motor you dive into you learn so much about while working on them.

Good afternoon. When the timing chain came off its lower gear (previous owner had over-tightened the tensioner), I ordered new parts.. chain, oil-pump chain, tensioner etc.. But now that it's time to put it back together, the main crankshaft makes a clang noise and stops when you turn it by hand. I want to solve this before assembling everything. The camshaft cover is off so that the valves aren't being activated. Should the transmission be in neutral to turn the crankshaft? The engine was running fine until the chain came off the lower gear. Then it would spin when the starter motor engaged so I assumed the crankshaft was spinning. Any advice is appreciated.

I have a 2019 T-Boss 410 that died one day after we parked it. It had been getting harder to start (had to hold the throttle down) for some time but would not start. The starter clutch seized while I was trying to start it. I replaced the starter clutch and it will not start. It appears to have solid fuel pressure and solid spark. It "fires" but will not actually run. The exhaust gets hot after cranking so I know that's actually firing but it won't fully start. Any ideas?

I got an old 2003 Arctic Cat 375 Auto, and just bought a 2008 AC 650 side by side. Got a new starter, solenoid, and battery for the 650. Gonna change the crankcase oil and filter while I'm at it.
Anything I oughta watch out for from them that's done the starter/solenoid on this model?
Don't have a manual yet for the 650. Any recommendations for oil weight/grade?
      Thanks.

This is the 2020 updated version from the previous 2009 version.  I do not know all the differences.  I do know the 2020 models have throttle body , idle air control valve, & idle control sensor.
