Am I the only one that finds the brake pads to be wearing extremely fast? I am already almost on the second set, (900km's) I hardly use the things because i gear down to slow speed. all i can think is that in the mud i should have the slotted rotors to help the mud get out. maybe i should just see if i can find a place to re-pad brakes not sure if anybody does this anymore. A side question is if everyone with bigger tires has the feeling that you need to stand on the brakes just to slow it down. The brakes just seem weak to me or maybe this has something to do with the pads wearing.

It's probably the mud. I mountain biked for many years and found that on rain days with muddy trails, we could go through a set of disc brake pads on one ride. Otherwise they would last and last. With my big tires, I still brake OK but would like it to be better. I don't really need to stand on the pedal. With 15" wheels, I plan on making larger disc when I get around to it.

The brakes seem really bad to me as well. I have blead the brakes a few times and they still do not support the weight of the Trooper on the side of a steep hill. Good thing there is the E-brake to back up the main ones, it has gotten me out of a few sticky situations.

I agree, the e-brake is handy and it seems to work way better and it takes less pressure. maybe the leverage on the brake pedal needs to be changed to give a person more leverage on the cylinders. It seems if you really stand on the pedal the unit stops "OK".

I just found a shop in Red Deer that re-pads brakes I told him my trouble and he said that he has had lots of guys with the same trouble and with the pad material they have the brakes last alot longer.

I think that the best thing would be if someone could find double piston calipers that would bolt on, it would be worth the $ to switch them out.

Hi all,

We seem to have brake pads, just no stopping power... I have bled the breaks. Several times...... manually and with a brake bleeder, talked to joyner mechanics, etc.

Just can't seem to get proper braking. Sometimes it's a hard pedal with no play. Sometimes a normal feeling pedal with no stopping power, sometimes a pedal to the floor.

I've checked for leaks in the system. The actuator up by the fluid bowl acts up once in a while....so you put your toe under the pedal and pull up. Then it works for a bit. the emergency brake works great!

I'm just perplexed.....anybody have any input?

make sure your calipers are able to float I have noticed mine arent and it is just wearing the inner pads off on the back. I am just going to check and clean the slide pins and that should help.

I have noticed in the past, thta some of the pushrod adjustment is incorrect. This would be the pushrod that goes into the master cylinders. It needs to have a little slop when the pedal is released. If it is tight and not able to wiggle in and out slightly it won't allow the hydraulics to bleed off or re-charge for the next application.

I've had a Hisun Vector E1 for just a bit longer than is required for me to do some maintenance. While it's well-overdue, it only drives 1.5km a few times each week on a fairly decent gravel road (to the letterbox), and it has worked really well right from the get-go.
Looking at the manual it states that I need to use SAE80 API GL-4 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Main gear Case, and SAE80 API GL-5 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Front gear Case - unfortunately i can't find either of those online here in Australia. Plenty of options that look close, but, as someone who has never driven any vehicle before, I want to use the right thing and it's a tad confusing.
My question: Since there are no oils that are bang on SAE80 (they all seem to cover a range) would Liqui Moly Hypoid GL4 Gear Oil 80W-90  & Motorex Hypoid GL-5 Gear Oil 80W90 - be ok to use? (Or any other suggestions of what I might be able to purchase online in Australia) And would I have to drain out any existing oil from both gear cases?
This is a whole new world for me and  being able to find exactly what is specified in the manual hasn't made this easy!

I have a 2018 cub cadet challenger 750 I bought brand new almost 2 years ago the first month I had it the exhaust broke and burnt the spark plug wire in two that was a recall so the dealership installed the new one it had a different design and it bolted up to the bottom two plugs below the spark plug the dealership said they had to Adjust the exhaust valves I get the machine back thanking everything is good now wrong not even a week after I get it back the timing chain tensioner comes apart inside the motor I take it back to the dealership They put one on I get the machine back thanking everything is good but then just like before not even a week goes by when I was riding the Machine automatically quits going come to find out the wet clutch was burned up the primary clutch head stripped off of the splines I get that fixed and then  it overheats I take it back they bleed the air out of the coolant they bring it back to me the same day that I get it back it overheats again I take it back they temporarily fix it again just enough to let the warranty run out and now the machine has been to multiple different mechanics I have had them try to bleed the air out they have stood it up on its end I have had the water pump changed I have had the fan hooked to a switch so I could leave it on all the time but still almost 2 years later not even 200 hours on the machine and I cannot ride it The dealership will not take it back as a lemon I have tried I am at my wits end I have no clue what to try next

The conversion took about 350lbs. off the vehicle.  It never rode great, but now I feel every  crack in the road.  I have backed off spring compression nut to the point just under where they would move around if suspension was at full extension, but it is still very stiff.  I would like to put some softer coilover springs on it, but I have no idea what the spring rate is with the original springs so I would just be guessing on what to order.  Does anyone have the data for the original spring compression rate?  I am willing to give up a little ground clearance for a softer ride. Right now when sitting still the rear suspension is at or near full extension and the rear tires have several degrees of camber which will cause uneven wear if allowed to continue in this state.

Hello all. I purchased a brand new Massimo Buck 250 EFI in June for our farm and I've had the parking brake fail on me twice. I have approximately 250 miles on the vehicle. The first time was less than a month after receiving the UTV. We all of a sudden lost brake pressure and it would not start. I tracked the issue back to the parking brake. Upon removing the chain cover, I noticed the brake pad was missing and the caliper piston was touching the rotor. I found a set of brake pads online and replaced them myself. It's worked for several months and just happened again. Seems like a design flaw. I'm reaching out to see if there's an upgrade option available, or if I should replace the entire caliper with the brake pads? Thanks in advance for any advise.
I submitted a warranty claim, so I'll keep this updated with what Massimo replies.
When I replaced the brake pads the first time, back in July, my Son made a video on YouTube to show the unique caliper design. Here's a link if you wanted to check it out:

      Hello everyone.
I recently bought a Can-Am Ryker and I'm looking to customize it with some accessories. I’ve seen a lot of options out there but wanted to get some recommendations from fellow riders.
What are the must-have accessories for comfort, style, or performance?
Specifically, I'm considering a windshield and better footpegs—are these worth the investment?
Also, any thoughts on storage solutions like saddlebags or rear cases?
Would love to hear your personal experiences with any mods you’ve done.
