Farmingtion, New Mexico - June 11-14, 2010

Farmington, New Mexico in early June 2010 is the tentative date for this Off-Road Adventure. There is dry camping & KOA style camping avialable. Many many sidetrips besides off road fun so plan for side trips in you pull vehicle. We will be also going to Taos and more locations. Daven also said it is only a 30 minute trailer pull to some additional off-roading in the Colorado Rockies. This trip is a mix of off-roading includes Moab to Marysville types. UTV, ATV and single track are welcome.

June 11-14, 2010, Friday thu & including Monday. Come any one day or all days.

I have confirmed this date with Daven, Joyner Dealer in Farmington, and he will adding it to his online site, http://www.farroffroad.com/ Daven has several other/new bodies, Trooper Owners & other brands, that also will attend including another T4. He is going to research the local campgrounds for hopefully a discounted rate.

We will arrive the 10th and leave the 15th.

Just found our daughter has a trip planned to Yellowstone with our motorhome the first two weeks of June so we can't come to the Ralley this year. We were going over our summer calender when she reminded me that they had plans with friends to go to Yellowstone and George had promised the motorhome to them.

We are going to miss seeing everyone please take lots of pictures.

A New Mexico OHV permit is not required for Arizona, California and Utah. Nevada does require a permit, a complete list of states requiring a permit can be found at http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/ohv/docume...itorpermits.htm. A permit can be acquired on-line before you arrive. Here is the site http://74.125.155.132/search?q=cache:i_zEg...=clnk&gl=us and the cost is $18 for 90 day permit and a 2 year permit is $48.

Just a quick post as I will post again this evening with more detail.

There will be Dry Camping Location (best as it is at the trail head) and RV campground with hookups in town. Daven is checking to see if you will be able to drive your UTV from the RV Campgrounds in town to the trail head or if you will have to trailer.

We will be Dry Camping/Boondocking as we are fully self-contained. I know there are several others that are also.

Daven is sending me maps for the Dry Camp location and I will post links to the RV Campgrounds this evening.

Again WE will be at the Dry Camp Location. Daven knows how big our rig is, 53' long. and has assured that it will be no problem at the Dry Camp. He has 4 persons who have said they are coming.

I will start pushing more aggressively for a headcount in April.

I have ask Daven for just that info. I will post as soon as I get it. Daven and another person rode two of the trails over the Holidays we will be taking and he said they are great with by-passes around section that may be too hard for some people. They are going out on another trail this weekend.

SunRay Casino is located 10 minutes from downtown Farmington. It offers slot machines and simulcast horse racing. Located on the grounds of the casino is "Legends" sports bar and grill. There are two other casinos located in southern Colorado, which is not too far to drive. Sky Ute Casino and Ute Mountain Casino. Ute Mountain Casino is close to Cortez, Colorado and Sky Ute Casino is located in Ignacio, Colorado.

Access & Dry Camping/Boondocking will be thu the Lower Left/SouthWest access point, West of Farmington. We will be in Chock Cherry Wash of Chock Cherry Canyon. Some of my earlier post are of Chock Cherry Canyon. This is also the Glade Trail area. I am working on GPS coords.

I sure hope there is lots of just riding and it's not all rock crawling, I prefer putting miles of driving under me with minimal rock crawling. I'm sure it there though, Just felt it necessary to make sure.

There will be plenty of both. Just like last year, we will be able to play individually near the camp in the rocks. Plus we/you don't have to go with the main group, there can be more than one. My hope is it will be similar to Moab where you run for a distance, challenge a rough section (hill/rocks/sand&more) and enjoy the view afterward. I will communicate your concern to Daven.
