Hi Jim,

I think what you believe to be a vacuum lne is just a drain line from the carb bowl. If you look closely from the backside of carb {flywheel side) you will see a small screw that is really a valve. What model do you have (UTV not engine) and where are you located?

Not sure about Vin #. Didn't get a title with mine. You probably have an older model 700. Does it have single wheel drive , 2 wheel and 4 wheel also. That engine is no longer being made or sold and parts are hard to come by. If you need anything post on here or send me a message. I'll try to help. I'm in South Louisiana.

I'm going to attempt to post the valve adj portion of the manual only. hope it works. Watch closely to ID which cyl is #1 and which is #2. Also be very careful wiring up the coils. The wire coming out from them is the kill wire and the key switch connect it to grd to stop engine. *****IF 12V HITS THAT WIRE IT WILL FRY THE COILS . i know because my grandson was helping me and made that mistake. Took me forever to find two coils and they were used and expensive.

Jim, I"ve only seen the double barrel. Saw the single in thge book but not sure if ASW ever used it. The Nikki double barrel is used by severa;l enginde mfg such as Briggs and Kohler. Simple to work on but the carbs are configured differently for other mfgs.Question.......Is your engine running? If it is, I would leave well enough alone until you need to get into it. Sometimes we want to take things apart and clean them and create a bigger problem than we had. Only go after troubles!

Ooooh-kay. Video sheds a different light on things. Did you strip body panels or did you get it w/o the wrap? TGhose may not be avai;lab ler and if so yhou vcan probably buy a new u nit for what they will cost you. Sounds like trash in the carb `or possibly the governor sertting is off. When removing carb go easy on the four all thread rods that hold it in place. They strip easy in the manifold .I have a book on that carb, I'll find it and send to you. I've never had to change a jet but the orings may go bad. Did you get the repair manual ordered?

I don't see where it would be any different than any other engine. Ask Redbeard. Google him on youtube. I know he runs some and he likes to remove the governor.

Merry Christmas !

Couldn't find the one I was looking for but these should help you. One thing I can tell you is they are almost identical to the Nikki used on the Briggs engines.except if you can find one for the Subaru it might be 300 bucks and you can find Briggs Carbs in the aftermarket for 35 dollars. I have taken a briggs carb and drilled out the shafts to move to the opposite side to make it fit subaru linkage and moved the intake tube for fuel also. You can buy overhaul kits very reasonable for briggs that will work on the Sub. Mostly just gaskets and o-rings.

Could you possibly send me pictures of your modified carburetor, please. I’m thinking I really only need the needle or the float valve.

Do you have the single throat or two barrel carb? What is it doing that makes you think it is the needle valve? I would have to tear into it more than I want to for pics of the detail. If you can't look at it and see what is required I don't recommend you attempting it. Again, what is it doing that makes you think it is the needle valve. You can get overhaul kit for briggs two barrel online relatively inexpensive and the internal parts should fit the Subaru carb. Another thing you can try is lapping your needle valve with a small amount of toothpaste. Sometimes that will fix it up.

2021 Hisun Axis 500 UTV (From Lowes)
      Will NOT START
MY apologies if this is to much info just wanted to give yal the most information possible for help.
I'm a so called diyer. An Electrician by trade 21yrs. I got my S×S from my last job. The contractor purchased this S×S for this specific job brand new, from Lowes. They used it for hauling materials, tools, & a little bit of anything you can think of on an Industrial type job site.
I remember getting on the SxS one time & pushed the gas petal all the way to the floor & SxS had very little power.
So anyway ,when the job finished up back mid July this year (7/2024) , I asked the contractor what they was going to do with it. I was told to take it. Otherwise it would go to the contractors yard (storage yard) & most likely rust away.
Took it home washed it , it had a heavy coat of dust on it & in it dust was every where. My helper & I had to push it on the trailer to get it home.  After washing it throughly I let it sit & dry out for a good day and half, maybe 2 days. Before trying to start it. NO START. Will turn over & try to start but thats it.
So here's what I've purchased & installed. New Air Filter, new spark plug, new air idle control valve (AICV), new throttle position sensor, new throttle body, new oxygen sensor, new digital dash speedometer/fuel gauge/clock.
Also drained the old oil & gas & replaced with new oil & 93oct. gas. I should probably mention that I've changed the AICV twice. The 1st time I changed the AICV I was able to get the SxS started & let idle for at least 10-15min. Drove out of the garage, with very little power,  turned it around & barely got it back in the garage. That was the one & only time I've been able to start the SxS. I've also cleaned the Throttle Body and & intake with TB cleaner.  So after that the AICV was  making weird noise so I pulled it out & tried cleaning it, pretty sure I messed it up. So I purchased a Throttle Body that came with new AICV & TPS. Still NO START.  I've checked the fuel pump & the fuel injector.  I took the injector off still hooked up to wiring & turned the key over, the injector sprayed a lot of gas out kinda the size of a volleyball. I've also checked the clearance gap on the intake & exhaust valve. But today 11/2/2024 I'm going recheck spark plug gap & the valve gaps. And alot of other checking. Would the driver side seat belt have anything to do with it not starting?? I know the driver side seat belt has to be in gauged for full throttle "going fast". Thing is the drv. side seat belt will latch but feels like might be messed up inside of it. Tired opening it up but to no avail.  I've never had a S×S or 4wheeler so I was really excited when I got the S×S,not so much anymore.  I work on & fix my own vehicles usually no problems.  But this SxS is kicking my ass.
So if possible & someone could help me with some ideas or tell me what Im doing wrong or did wrong, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you for reading thus far.

I'm looking for an engine for my Hisun 700 SXS.
I've found a LOT of scam sites, and need to find a legitimate business to purchase a used engine.

I own a K9 with 50hrs that has been in for repair more than once the farm.  Multitude of issues, trying to file lemon on it but interested in knowing if owners are organizing for a class action suit.  The dealer informs me there are “a lot of owners very unhappy with these”.
      Thanks

This post will explain how to hook up your PC to the ECU of a Hisun/Coleman/Etc UTV to be able to read error codes & engine parameters for troubleshooting purposes.
This is applicable to all small engines using the Delphi MT-05 ECU. This should cover all fuel injected Hisun models, as well as various other Chinese FI engines, as the Delphi MT-05 ECU seems to be the favored ECU solution.
Even though we get actual engine error codes to display on the dash, sometimes we have “pending codes” (not yet confirmed by the ECU) or other intermittent issues that are hard to diagnose, for example a poorly connected sensor that may give intermittent false readings, or a sensor that’s putting out bad date, but not bad enough for the ECU to realize.
The setup requires 2 cables, which are available for around $25 combined, a PC with a USB port, and some charityware software called “HUD ECU Hacker”. This gives the same functionality as the $300 dealer code scanner for a fraction of the price.
In searching I found info about HUD ECU Hacker, but I have yet to see info anywhere about how to hook it up to a Hisun, so I took the leap and bought some cables, and made it work. I will show a step by step of how to do so in post two.
I will be breaking this down into 2 posts:
Delphi ECU Info & Overview (This post) System setup & use Delphi ECU Info (Skip ahead to the next post if your eyes glaze over technical details)
The Delphi MT-05 ECU was developed to allow small engines to use fuel injection. A fuel injection system requires feedback from various sensors to operate efficiently. This feedback allows the adjustment of ignition timing, fuel injection volume, etc to efficiently and cleanly produce the most power possible from a given engine.
The MT-05 ECU has a number of sensors that are required for proper functioning including; Coolant temp, crankshaft position, intake temp, intake pressure, exhaust O2, throttle position, as well as some other optional sensors that are used on more complex vehicles.
From the sensors the ECU adjusts: Fuel injector timing/pulse, Idle air control valve, and ignition coil

The Delphi MT-05 puts out diagnostic data, however it is not ODB2 like a modern car, where is where it gets tricky reading it. There are three options, there is an old 16 bit piece of software Delphi has that is not able to run on a modern computer, there is the motorscanner tool for dealers ($300), or there is freeware HUD ECU Hacker with the proper cables.

Hello everyone, second time posted looking for assistance. First time you all were a great help!
I have an 2013 XY Powersports 600GKE UTV, sweet little machine when she was running. My youngest last fall get it covered in mud, and then blew the engine. I mean she doesn't start any more, and we've even tried rebuilding it since he's in a Vocational School for Power Sports and Diesel course, but no luck.
One of the other members (NVM"something") was really knowledgeable about the machine I had and the engine, all I can tell you is its a CFMoto. If I can't find a replacement, does anyone know if there is one that it can be easily swapped out with, or even minor modifications.

      Thanks!
      Myron
