Hi

I have a 2022 hisun sector eps 550. 30amp fuse is blown for eps. Checked the motor and it’s fine. Opened up the controller and found a bad diode. Dealer wanted 500$ for the controller. Just posting this in case it helps someone. I couldn’t read numbers from the old one so just took a guess and replaced it with a 100v 3amp diode. IMG_1137.thumb.jpeg.28bcd42ebf6fc05c1c5a203e85b6960f.jpegIMG_1137.thumb.jpeg.28bcd42ebf6fc05c1c5a203e85b6960f.jpegIMG_1138.thumb.jpeg.2cc4c00fa3e92c57f643e939462a3f46.jpegIMG_1139.thumb.jpeg.af69614ed2870eeeebab64e8c56edaf6.jpeg

Hey, thanks for the info. My 22 rk 750 has had no eps since about April or May, just turned dead left if you let go of the steering wheel. No help at all from hisun in Texas other than tell me to take it back to rk after the mechanic had already  told me twice he had no idea what was wrong with it. Had to have a starter replaced at another dealer closer to home and they said they would check on hisun fixing the eps.  Been about 2 months and haven't heard anything. It's a decent sxs when it works but I would advise anyone to buy another brand and save a huge headache.  Where is the diode located and does it just plug in? Thanks for the info. Sorry you're in the no eps club.

Hey the diode is in the eps module. And it has to be desoldered. Module is located behind the airbox. It’s the one with three plugs on it. Is your power steering malfunction light on ?

It does have a code, F0001 and the red steering trouble light is illuminated on the instrument panel. Did your steering wheel turn all the way one way or the other when you let go of the wheel? Mine turned all the way to the left. I called and tried to buy a service manual not long after I bought mine in 2022 but hisun in Texas wouldn't sell me one. Dealers and authorized repair shops only. Paid over 400 to replace the starter because it dragged all the time. Rk mechanic said they all start that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And thanks for the info.

Wow!!!  Our new-to-us Sector 750, with only 84.4 hours, is doing exactly the same thing.  When you turn the ignition key, the EPS turns hard all the way to the left.

I am in discussion with "Chris" from HISUN . . . I have his email and phone number . . . and with the original selling dealer.

I have sent a short video clip to both of them, showing what happens when I turn the key.

There is no dealer convenient to us and "taking it in" would involve renting a UHaul carhauler.  I have also read horror stories from people who took their HISUN in to a dealer to get a defect fixed.

I'm treating it as a consumer product safety defect, and have reported it to the Consumer Product Safety Commission . . . 20240920-18A7C-2147336406 .

I stumbled onto this thread when I searched if a HISUN can operate with the EPS disconnected.

Our previous UTV, a 2008 Bush Hog TH440, was not a pretty thing, but it was not a death trap!!!!!!

Today I intended to try to figure out how to disconnect the EPS, and see if it would operate without power steering, but, instead, the EPS was working.

I drove it apprehensively for about 15 minutes, both hands firmly on the steering wheel, and it never jerked to the left.

But I don't think I can ever drive it without the fear of it doing that.  I certainly won't drive it with speed.

BTW, I'm seeing what appears to be that EPS system on Amazon for $1190-ish.

HISUN arranged to have our Sector 750 picked up and transported back to the original dealer, and are paying for that, parts and labor.

I doubt that they would be if I had not filed a report with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.  People have complained about the same issue with the Texas BBB where HISUN is located, and got no satisfaction.

It was picked up early yesterday>>>>I test-drove it for a couple miles first, and the EPS was operating just fine.  That's always a possibility, which is why I have made three separate videos documenting the issue.

We got it back, and it seems to be working just fine.  Neither HISUN nor the dealer said what was wrong.

I decided to do an oil change, and could not even budge the oil drain plug.  I bought an impact wrench yesterday and I couldn't budget it with that.  I couldn't loosen a lug nut either.

Everything on it is way over-torqued.  It's not right.

I'm getting a bigger impact wrench today.

As I tried to do a conversion with the Yamaha 660 motor, I realized the 660 was never fuel injected so it would not work for the fuel injected hisun motor swap. But the good thing is the hisun 750 motor is a clone of the 660 Yamaha but with the components for the fuel injection (cam/crank position sensor). So that left me with a new rebuilt Yamaha 660 and still a broke 750 hisun motor. I took apart 750 think the timing chain had broke from all that I've heard about these motors. The chain was not broke, but just off cam and crank gears! The chain tensioner was at fault!  I've ordered Yamaha 660 replacement parts, chain, two exhaust valves (which got bent when chain came off while motor was spinning) and seals. The piston has 2 little nicks where it had hit valves but no damage otherwise. The head is being redone at the machine shop and I'll be putting it back together in the next couple of weeks. Also I finally tracked down a Service Manual with all the info on the 550/750 Challenger.

I have owned mine for a couple years now but newer took off road.  How well does it do trail riding m?

Does anyone have any suggestions for aftermarket shocks.  I have a T-Boss 550 and took it riding in some rough trails and the stock suspension was uncomfortably rough.
      Thanks

Has anyone found a lift kit that fits an Axis 500? Mine is a 2021.

I've had a Hisun Vector E1 for just a bit longer than is required for me to do some maintenance. While it's well-overdue, it only drives 1.5km a few times each week on a fairly decent gravel road (to the letterbox), and it has worked really well right from the get-go.
Looking at the manual it states that I need to use SAE80 API GL-4 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Main gear Case, and SAE80 API GL-5 Hypoid Gear Oil for the Front gear Case - unfortunately i can't find either of those online here in Australia. Plenty of options that look close, but, as someone who has never driven any vehicle before, I want to use the right thing and it's a tad confusing.
My question: Since there are no oils that are bang on SAE80 (they all seem to cover a range) would Liqui Moly Hypoid GL4 Gear Oil 80W-90  & Motorex Hypoid GL-5 Gear Oil 80W90 - be ok to use? (Or any other suggestions of what I might be able to purchase online in Australia) And would I have to drain out any existing oil from both gear cases?
This is a whole new world for me and  being able to find exactly what is specified in the manual hasn't made this easy!
