I recently got my Trooper T4 stuck in some pretty serious quicksand in the Hassayampa river near Wickenburg, AZ. The stuff looked just like hard packed sand and was pretty nasty. My question is, does anyone here have any experience with the Pull-pal or similar? http://www.pullpal.com/index.html . I tried winching to a 5' stake buried in the sand but it just ripped out of the quicksand every time and I wonder if a Pull-pal would have worked in this situation.

Man those things look dangerous to me. What happens if it initially grips and then pulls out with say just 1000lb of pull? You get a 1000lbs of of ugliness coming right at you. The Troopers stock winch is rated at 3500lb so lets not even go there. In super soft sand or quicksand, I think it would behave in the same manner as your buried stake. If you are in the soft stuff, it doesn't matter if it's mud or sand, anchored products like the Pull Pal don't get a secure grip. Hard ground is fine but the work is hard too, digging it in and then getting it out.

Not sure if these are available in America, but if they aren't they should be.

They are called MaxTrax and retail here in NZ for nz$500.00 or about us$330. Here is a video of them in action.

Cheers Mike.

Next time try using your 5' stake angled away from you. Leave about a foot of the stake out of the ground put your winch cable near the ground and tie an additional rope from the top of your stake to another stake or bush directly behind it. In really loose ground do this with a series of three stakes. You will be amazed at how well this will work even in snow or mud. The additional stake(s) will also prevent a sudden release if you do pull it out.

I carry enough tow strap and tie-down straps to reach to most anything. I had the same thing happen to me once except was high-centered. Did not carry anything with me then except what was on the winch. Luckily a Jeep happened by and let me hook to the back of him and winched myself free. Since then I carry a LOOOOONG tow strap.

I would really like to know what you guys think about this. I'll try not to ramble and make it as clear as I can.

I took this new job with companyX as a fiber splicer a year ago. I have a 45' bucket truck and 10or12 x 8 ft enclosed splice trailer I have to take home. Within the last 6 months all the management in the splice dept left. Now the power/construction management and higher ups are filling in. Just recently we were told travel to our 1st job is not payable even though we are in a company vehicle.
We are union so I asked the union business manager about this. His reply was be grateful you were paid travel as long as you were and that you don't have to drive your POV to the job.

Last week I had 50hr total. The job area is 4-4.5 hrs away. My time was reduced to 44.5 hrs since we were told this travel thing on Tuesday of that week. I wasn't hired for this area. I was hired for area a lot closer to home.

Pay is good. Work is not hard. Insurance is through the union and so far pretty good.
But I hate the thought of having to work extra just to make a 40hr paycheck. Anyone who has to drive as part of their job knows windshield time is not easy.

Anyway what do you guys think. Should I look for a different job or just suck it up because of the decent pay and health insurance.

I have done a LiPo4 battery upgrade on my E1.  I have reprogrammed the charge profile to #386.  With the onboard BMS the controller cuts off all charge from the IC1200 when the battery reaches 100% to prevent overcharge.  When this happens the charger begins flashing the yellow light and displays the error code 013 which is telling me the battery is no longer accepting a charge input which is as it should be.  I hear a relay switching in and out every few seconds as the charger continues to try to reach the shutoff charge profile voltage.  My question is will it cause any harm to the IC1200 to stay in this state for hours or maybe even days if I don't get out to unplug it?  I used to leave the E1 plugged in all the time with the old Discover batteries.

We have a 2018 Cub Cadet Challenger 400 and I found this Internally Threaded Bolt with a 10mm head size laying in the floor of the shop bay here on our ranch where we park the Cub Cadet.
Trying to figure out where it belongs...

I have a Joyner Trooper 1100 4 place that has been sitting for a number of years. I have everything taken care of but i can't get the fuel through the injectors. Fuel pump puts full pressure on them but they don't turn on or spray fuel. Any ideas?
