After yesterdays ride in some brutal rock I noticed something not quite right in the front end. After careful inspection and considerable deliberation I came to the conclusion it may be this shock. See attached picture.

I guess this means I will have to replace the shock. It's probably not covered under warranty.

If you a have Trooper T2 shock laying around I'm in the market for one.

That's twice I've seen that happen here on the forum, passenger sided both times. What were you doing, what speed, how much air time?

You didn't get any photos of the area / road you were on did you? My thinking is that the front end is over sprung and under dampened.

Any Comments anyone.

I agree Kinarfi. I been considering taking a little spring tension off of the front shocks. If that helps, then I will back off a little N2.

Greetings,

To answer some question as to how I managed to destroy my shock, here are some details.

I was riding in the White Mountains of AZ. We were doing a fact finding ride to show our AZ State Senator some areas that she could help us with. She was my passenger (fell in love with the trooper). Some of the trails we were on had considerable down fall and hadn't been ridden for some time. Some of the downed trees were 3+ feet in diameter. At times the rocks were football size and bigger. It was 4x4 time with locked rear end in these sections. The trail was steep and I needed to carry some speed. Needless to say I must have hit a rock very hard to bend the shock. The Trooper was still drivable. I noticed it was not quite right but we were on to a smooth surface right after the last rocky section.

The front shocks are at factory setting.

As a point of interest on another subject.

A long time riding buddy rode shot gun with me at the recent Eastern Sierra Jamboree in Walker California. He was so impressed with the Trooper that he bought one. Now I guess I get to do the 800+ mile drive to go for a ride with him.

I got so many questions about it at the Jamboree that I think I'll make up a spec sheet to hand out at these events.

My friend at Buggy World in Santee CA set me up with some stock shocks so I should be back on the trail soon.

Thanks Gumball, when you get that spec sheet put together, Post it. I think Rocmoc may have a good idea about dropping the N2 out of the shocks, not sure if I have or not, or if I did and Lenny put it back in for me, but from what I've seen, it looks like the shocks top out after a compression and keep on topping to push the seal cap off and then you loose the guide and the shaft bends. I've been under the impression that mine's too stiff for quite a while and I have it adjusted for minimal preload, guess I go bleed the N2 off completely, forgot about that trick. That's one nice thing about my F-O-As, not pressure charge and if I do want some, they say it's ok to use air and start with about 5 pounds and work up, mine is smooth and I like it that way, I hit bump the jolt the front and are barely noticeable on the back, you know like old folks like. :D A little hyjacking here, sorry, but after breaking a fitting on one of my shocks pulling the camo'd trooper driven by Lewis when he lost the lower gears and got stuck in the water crossing, I had to rebuild it, all I did was replace the oil, Honda 5w fork oil, but since I had to do one, I did them both, easy, & I liked what I saw inside, although I'm no Pro.

I need a pair of front shocks for a Landpride Treker 4200NT, from 2005?  Does anyone know of a good salvage yard - or another source?
The old shocks have "SEBAC 11685 12 3" stamped on them (or something very close - it's hard to read). I think SEBAC are (were?) an Italian company.
Is there a compatible shock I can use? I don't have easy access to a scrap yard where I can compare shocks etc.
      Thanks,
      -Kim

We recently purchased the Axis x550. Fueled it with 93 fuel and drove one time around the farm and the 02 fault error appeared. Any ideas?

The conversion took about 350lbs. off the vehicle.  It never rode great, but now I feel every  crack in the road.  I have backed off spring compression nut to the point just under where they would move around if suspension was at full extension, but it is still very stiff.  I would like to put some softer coilover springs on it, but I have no idea what the spring rate is with the original springs so I would just be guessing on what to order.  Does anyone have the data for the original spring compression rate?  I am willing to give up a little ground clearance for a softer ride. Right now when sitting still the rear suspension is at or near full extension and the rear tires have several degrees of camber which will cause uneven wear if allowed to continue in this state.

Hey Guys, I have been chasing a stalling condition for about two weeks now. The bike will crank up and idle fine, then after about 20 seconds it will fall on its face and stall. It happens at both idle and while running at various rpms. You can turn the key off, turn it back on and it will fire right back up without trouble. I have verified spark on both cylinders with a spark tester. I have also added an inline fuel filter, and pulled the injectors to verify proper pulse on each. Things I have replaced - (relearn procedure performed after each component replaced): spark plugs, ECU, relay/fuse box, fuel pump, & throttle position sensor - all with no improvement of the condition. The only warning light I get when the condition occurs is the oil lamp. The bike only has 14 miles. I am at a loss and appreciate any help and suggestions! Thanks

My 2018 Hisun sector crew engine cut off after about 15 minutes run. There is no indicator of what is wrong, no error code just die and won't restart until it cool down. I notice that the fan is not running but the temp indicator is on low temp, no overheat indicator. I checked the radiator fluid, it is cool to touch.
Cooling fans are working, I can hear it running once awhile if I can get the engine warm up enough.  Thank you for all the help.
