My 2008 400 Mule (KAF 400A) destroys fuel pumps. The first one lasted about 150 hours, the next lasted about 75 hours, the next one lasted about 25 hours. The last pump lasted only a few minutes. I have also changed the fuel filter and breather when changing the fuel pump. When I go up a hill or accelerate on level ground oil is sent into the carb and blue smoke comes out the tail pipe. If I back off the gas it will go back to a smooth idle.

It idles and starts with no problem.

I don't have a mule -but maybe I can help. I have worked on engines for 35+ years. The late model mule has basicially a lawn mower engine. Of those the fuel pump is usually operated off the crankcase pressure. make sure you are installing new gaskets-if the fuel pump is of the type that bolts to the side of the block. next make sure no mud dobber wasps have plugged any holes in the end of hoses or tubes/vents. You mave have oil pumping up into the air filter housing at/by the carb because of excessive crank case pressureblow-by, -blocked vent tube(s), restricted air filter, oil overfill, . As far as life of the fuel pump-there may be trash or sand in the fuel tank rupturing the diaphram.

Is there a code reader available for the Coleman UTV 400?  I tried using the HUD ECU Hacker software and cables/adapters but no luck OBD to delphi 6 pin and KKL VAG as well as ELM327.  Will not connect.  I was able to get it to connect randomly a couple of times, but haven't been able to since.  I was able to clear and read the codes briefly.  I'm aware of the Tiny Scan 301 but it doesn't seem to be readily available.  There's a few out there but they are expensive.

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone pressure washes their Mule underbody. Three years in, I have yet to do this. I'm worried that the pressure washer could damage or dislodge something but it's gotten to the point that it could use a bath. Any thoughts?

My dad has recently acquired a 2510 Kawasaki mule Diesel powered. It worked fine  few weeks and then quit driving. Put a new belt on just to see. Still not driving. It already had a new clutch. Belt turns when in drive or reverse and back wheels are off ground to test. But wheels not turning. Thoughts?

Hello, I have a mule 4010 trans that appeared to overheat based on the temperature light on the dash and it went into limp mode.  No steam though.  After letting it cool and the next day, I drove it around quite a bit and it did not have any problems.  Any ideas on this.  Do thermostats work intermittently?  I would like to fix the problem, looking for advice.  Many thanks
